Favorite winery and restaurant in Somerset West great service, great wine and food and willing to accommodate for any style of menu. The 3 course menu is great and the pizzas or a la carte options are amazing too. Our waiter Craig was amazing and gave some of the best service we have ever had!

Excellent quality and presentation of food. The Karoo rack of lamb was delicious and super tender! The views are spectacular and there’s a great area outside for the kids to play in while the adults are talking! 😃 The wine is also quite good as well. It can get quite busy/loud during lunch so be prepared for that!

Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere with amazing views. Delicious set-menu offering & world class, single varietal wines. Our excellent tasting experience - curated & adjusted to our interest - followed by lunch was a 4 hour affair but we never once felt rushed & had or table kept for us. Craig was a knowledgeable & attentive waiter. We didn't catch the name of our sommelier but he was equally awesome in his knowledge & friendly manner

Absolutely amazing place. Breathtaking views of the Helderberg area, exquisite wines, stunning restaurant and world class service makes this place one of the best wine farms I've been to. Well done guys!

Recently went to Idiom for breakfast followed by wine tasting. The breakfast was great, the service impeccable and the wine's delicious. It is a very modern wine farm, but has an old world feel about it. The view was exceptional. The only down side was the quite long and in some places very slow drive. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Worth a visit if only once, and that's for the gorgeous views. The vegetarian/vegan options were alright but limited (certainly nothing to write home about especially if you don't eat mushrooms), and the service from the waiting staff was attentive but lacked a little finesse - it's always nice to be asked if you have any dietary requirements before being presented with a bread board that has cold meats/dairy on it. But otherwise a lovely lunch was had by all.

What a beautiful restaurant!! The architecture itself is breathtaking. The service was super impressive and the food was to die for. I definitely recommend Idiom. You definitely have to come back for more because there is so much to choose from and they have a huge selection of the best wines I've tasted so far.

Lovely and efficient welcome and escort to table. Lovely views - Whilst several staff assisted very capably Craig was our main host for lunch and both food and wine menus explained very knowledgeably. Service excellent and food off set menu very nicely presented but more so very tasty. Not first time at idiom and never disappointed. Had the Idiom -Viognier with our lunch and good accompaniment - Stuart and Jeannie

Great view of false bay and beautiful grounds and art. The food was great. There is a 3 course menu and a basic a la carte menu. They offer wine pairings with the 3 course meals and also do separate wine tastings. Overall great experience.

Idiom Vineyards is known for their high quality wines. Part of the Idiom experience is the drive from the gate to the tasting room/restaurant which is a relaxing drive of just under 3km. As you climb the mountain you get beautiful scenic views around you and even cross two railroads. The main building in which the tasting room and restaurant is located is beautiful and modern, with great views of the bay far down below. Although the restaurant capitalizes more on what the building has to offer and the tasting area seems like a bit of an afterthought, the wines and staff make the experience worth it. It is good to note that the tasting area is around a bar island, so I wouldn't recommend a tasting at Idiom if you are a large group. They have 2 wine tasting options to choose from, with one focusing on their more entry level wines and the other on their premium wines. The guy that did our tasting, Johan, was extremely knowledgeable and just put the cherry on-top of the entire experience. Their wines are a bit more on the expensive side however well worth a try, and the vineyard is a must visit if in the area.

Stylish, contempo meets country side done with style and signature. Nothing generic about this place. Everything from the craftsmanship and plating of the foods, the landscape and the skill of the waiter to serve in the fine dinning way, was done to my satisfaction. Will be back.

Mama Mia, such a unforgettable experience. Perfect view, wines, and food experience. Italy in the middle of stellenbosch wine land with a magnificent view of the sea. Us a guest, the staff and owner made feel like a part of the family. I will definitely visit again.
