Unique experience, very well run facility with focus on conservation. We booked a VIP private interaction and it was amazing to have such a close encounter with a cheetah! The guides explained everything clearly, and were very good at assisting during the interaction. Funds from the centre go towards cheetah conservation through a livestock guarding dog project. Well worth a visit!

Underwhelming experience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable but there’s really not much to do or see. They have 7 cheetahs. The “cheetah encounter is simply just a photo-op where you get to see one up close while on a leash. I appreciate the great work they’re going to protect the animals from extinction and this is a great organisation but not a great attraction at all for visitors. They also charge you extra for paying with a card. This extra fee also seems to be made up on the spot. We were told 3% extra but others were charged up to 7% which is interesting because they use YOCO card machines which charge 2.6% - 2.95% per transaction according to their website.

Loved this place. Was recommended by a customer who uses our cattery in Ireland and was so delighted to have the opportunity to have an experience with the cheetahs. We also got to see the feeding of all the animals. The staff were lovely and so knowledgeable. Would highly recommend a visit and the money is well worth going to such a wonderful charity

Very clean, well kept wild animal sanctuary. The kids enjoyed walking around and trying to spot the animals. It's not very big, but the staff are friendly and the tour is interesting. It's never crazy busy and you even have the option of petting the Cheetahs if you buy the Cheetah encounter tickets. Nice place to keep you busy for an hour or so. Nice little souvenir shop with quite a variety of different gifts.

A wonderful experience with the cheetahs! A fantastic initiative, so impressed that there is NO cheetah breeding programme and farmers are being educated about the pros of having their stock protected by an Anatolian sheepdog. The guides were very informative.

It's my second time going. They take care of the cheetahs very lovingly. The animals are very healthy. If you're in Cape Town or nearby, this is the best place to see and touch a cheetah. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Lovely place which is focused on promoting cheetah conservation through a shepherd dog program. All profits go towards providing dogs to farmers which in turn prevents cheetahs from being shot by farmers to protect their livestock. A great place!! Has a variety of animals for visitors to see.

Neat experience. Gorgeous cats. We got to meet Tobias. Wish you could get up close and interact with some of the other animals on the property. Staff is informative and they will take plenty of pictures of you and/or your group with the cheetahs. Make sure you plan on enough time since you’re on ‘cheetah time’.

The people there are very friendly and if you ask, they will tell you a lot about their program and their animals. But the place is not really nice. Just some simple cages and a few animals. It's not really made to display the animals, just to house them. The place is small and if you're not lucky enough to get a tour with a talkative enough employee, you are done with your visit after 10-15 minutes. Unless, of course, you book an encounter with one of the animals. But even that is happening in a cage that is very plain. Other cages all around. No great scenery. Yes, you get your picture with that cheetah and you can touch it, but somehow the whole thing doesn't feel very customer oriented. It's OK, because they are a preservation project, but it could be much more interesting, engaging and enjoyable if it were not so very basic. At least, R10 is a very small price and if you are in the area anyway, it is worth a visit.

Visit the Cheetah Outreach and have a VIP experience of a lifetime with these cats. You can have a one on one encounter with the big cats, yeah you heard me right 😁.

Great experience. You can adopt an animal as well. On this day we didn't get to see the Cheetah's as they were all lazing in the shade. There are paid for experiences where you can touch a cheetah and watch them feed the animals.

Before deciding to visit the Cheetah Outreach, I did lots of research on places that allow people to interact with the animals. I’m very careful to not support places that abuse animals, just trying to make profit and just not ethical. I found the cheetah outreach to be the only place that was ethical with a goal in mind. Their goal is to inform and educate farmers to use other ways to protect their livestock from cheetahs rather than use lethal ways. Cheetah Outreach even breeds livestock protective dogs for the farmers. We chose to do an experience to pet one, and no the cheetah is not drugged or controlled in anyway to stay. He even gave us a little purr while we pet him. The staff were all very knowledgeable and we learned so much. I would highly recommend for people and families who can have well behaved children. 😊

The mission of Cheetah Outreach is a difficult one. On my visit to this animal sanctuary, the struggle to keep it open was quite obvious. The neighborhood around it is urbanizing and closing in fast. More residential buildings are being erected in the neighborhood, while nature is retreating. It's clear that Cheetah Outreach needs more public funds to stay afloat, especially because the Corona pandemic reduced the number of visitors and, consequently, funds generated by attendance.

Great experience. Everyone is fully committed to the animals. You will get a chance to see the gorgeous cats. The feeding tour itself is worth. The staff is really informative and show us little tricks with cats. Loved it. We also took the Cheetah Encounter tickets. Again It was a good experience. You can feel, touch and see the cheetah under supervision. I regret not to ask for a small video. Otherwise it is recommended place. They also run some animal conservation program. P.S.If you are looking for discount then you can use FNB entertainer (if you have FNB account)

Great outing to this little gem. Place needs more people to come through the gates. Mainly volunteers from Europe giving of there time to raise awareness of the plight. Beautiful animals that you can interact with as well

Seeing the cheetah upclose was an great experience but staff here seem very uninterested in interacting with the visitors. They wouldn't answer your questions and would ask you to join in on the tour when it starts.. but we waited too long before it did. An entry fee of R20 for adults and R10 for children under 12years will be paid to have access to this facility and also a tour around the park. To actually get an encounter with the cheetah, you'd have to pay an extra R150. Due to the covid 19, we were not allowed to touch the animals. But we were close enough to take pictures and have a closer look. We were briefed on the living conditions of the animal and our safety around these cats as well.

Quite a disappointing experience for the cost of a cheetah encounter. The prices should be lowered because you are not allowed to touch or be close to the cheetahs “due to covid.” We were also asked to remove our sunglasses, while there were multiple handlers with sunglasses on. I understand the cheetahs are used to the handlers, but it seemed they wanted to exercise their power on us. I’m glad we were able to support the organization for the animals, but it was also in construction and so we were not able to see more than half the animals.

We enjoyed our visit immensely. We touch and enjoyed patting cheetah,my 5 yr son was so excited and had a chance to feel and touch cheetah under supervision. we spend 10-15 mintues.A staff has taken more pictures and videos of our time with the Cheetah . The handlers were knowledgeable and respectful of the animals, giving advice on what to do and what not to do to make the experience pleasant for the animal. Also we got to see feeding cheetahs. Their main goal is to saving the cheetah . There are some other animals meerkats, tortoises, livestock gaurding shepard dog. The entry fee is R5 per person and for cheetah encounter R 170 per adult / R 120 per child we loved the experience. Go if you can!

Very underwhelming experience! Saw two cheetahs (one of them looks like they've just received a valet in preparation for a show - the one on a leash with whom encounters are conducted, the other like a stray dog). There are multiple cages but most of them empty. My advice: if you're not doing the Cheetah encounter (which is like observing a pedigree dog on a leash at a dog show from afar - zero touching allowed) don't waste your time or money. Ive got so much love for these beautiful creatures, Im afraid I cannot say the same about Cheetah Outreach based on observation and upkeep. P.S: Drakenstein Lion Park and Giraffe House are beautifully kept facilities with wonderful animals, please take lesson from them.

Great cheetah encounter experience. At Cheetah Outreach they are trying to spread awareness about lethal methods of protecting live stock and therefore killing off cheetahs. We do have an effective method and its through the guard dog programme. By the way - you can also get your picture taken with one of these beautiful cats

They're doing great work here. Animals (incl. cheetah, jackals, meerkats, tortoises, serval, etc.) are well-cared for and have sizeable enclosures. Very affordable general access (R20pp) but there are guided tours available. Not a massive establishment but a great visit nonetheless. Plenty of parking available. Place is situated in a boomed-off business complex. Covid protocols are in place on arrival. Note that they use cash only, including in the gift store, which is a bit of an inconvenience in the 21st century.

This experience was absolutely awful! We didn’t even stay 20 minutes because the entire staff was unhelpful and completely unprofessional. They ignored and neglected us the entire time, it was as if we were invisible. We had ASK to be assisted and even then, the staff continued to do their own business and made us the last priority on their list! We felt like unwanted guests and like they were all waiting for us to just leave already. DO NOT waste your money or time coming here. Please substitute this place for another if you’re planning on seeing animals

Even though it is magical to see a cheetah. We went for the first time today. Just to look what there is to do especially with kids. The staff was not very interested in presenting the tour. The tour was suppose to start at 14:30. We waited for 15 min at the assembly point. Then we took our self for a tour and left. The others people were still waited for the tour when we left.

Educated and kind staff. I can tell they love the animals and are passionate about them. Encountering the cheetah (forgot his name) was really cool and I appreciated how respectful they were to the cheetah preferences. Would visit again to show a friend who hasn't experienced it yet.

This was a fantastic opportunity to encounter wild animals found in South Africa from close. We booked the animal feeding experience which is highly recommended as you realise that these animals are a humble part of the delicate local ecosystem and should be respected and protected by us. Just make sure you check the animal feeding times as otherwise it will be difficult to actually spot the animals that may be hiding in the enclosure.

They do good work to save the animals. I would not recomend tondo animal encounters. Just because of the animal wellness. Better give a good tip as the entrance fee is just 10 Rand.

Visited Cheetah Outreach in January and was once again very impressed with the facility, knowledge of the staff, commitment of the staff and friendliness. We booked a Cheetah Encounter and feeding tour. Well worth the fee paid. For those who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the feeding habits of Cheetah's and the other animals kept at Cheetah Outreach I would highly recommend that you book a feeding tour. In addition you will also see all the animals as they come out for the feeding. Well done to all the staff (including the volunteers). As a suggestion you could approach more corporates to sponsor your outreach program, I am pretty sure you will gain traction with the corporates.

I found that they truly care about the animals at the Cheetah Outreach. The animals aren't put on display for your pleasure, they are cared for and nurtured because they are special. All the staff were friendly and informative. If you want a big hype, you will be disappointed. If you want to go learn, be appreciative and choose to be in the moment while observing the animals, it's definitely worth a visit. My kids and I loved it.

(Translated by Google) We were on February 2 and we really enjoyed it. It is even more strange to read negative reviews, because the staff was polite and gave us as much time as we wanted. Most of the volunteers work here. Due to the covid we couldn't touch the leopard, but it didn't matter, we were very close and had an incredible experience.

This is not a days outing if that is what you are looking for. You can walk through the park in 10 minutes. HOWEVER... it is worth a trip and the entry fee is so little. We paid extra for the Cheetah encounter (R90 per child and R130 per adult) and my daughter was so impressed to be so close to a Cheetah . The Staff & Volunteers are exceptionally professional, friendly & knowledgable. They took their time explaining everything to my 10 year old and treated her very kindly. It is clear that they love their animals and take great care of them. Conservation is of significant importance to them! We enjoyed our visit and will definately head that way again in the future!
