As a resident of Milton Keynes for many years, I know a thing or two about roundabouts. When members of my family moved to Letchworth I had no idea they were, in their own way, taking a pilgrimage of sorts to this - and I don’t say this lightly - mecca of Milton Keynes! Built around 1909, when MK wasn’t even a twinkle in a town planner’s eye, this roundabout is no timid beginning. With no fewer than six points of entry and exit, and a healthy display of flowers and foliage, I have no idea why this place isn’t one of the best known attractions among visitors keen to seek out truly historic England Even the inclement weather could not dampen the experience, will visit again!

Small roundabout with several exits and small gardens on and around it. The gardens are reasonably well kept. The ones on the roundabout regularly get run over. I wouldn't advise sitting on the roundabout on a Friday or Saturday night. It was a film location in the 2013 movie "The World's End", in which they faithfully recreated - minus the aliens - my brother writing off his Rover 25 there several years earlier. He then had to pay for the sign, also featured in the film. It's quite a good location for a selfie, particularly if facing down the Broadway towards the town centre. Although, there's a girl's school on one corner so don't do that if you're already on the sex register. At the end of the day it's just a roundabout. I wouldn't make a big day trip to see it unless you're REALLY into roundabouts.

Little did I know when I penetrated letchworth, that this humble roundabout could open whole new sexual horizon for me and my 78 year old life partner. As he held my leg and dribbled gently I remembered again why it was that I fell in love. The mild spherical motions of his hand upon my thigh was the closest we have come to intercourse in 5 years. I’ll never forget this moment, or this roundabout. 5 stars and I’m still wet.

Growing up in Letchworth, this brings me unreasonable amount of pride. I often make a point of doing a lap of honour when visiting my parents'. Although, that's mostly to annoy my partner. Showing her the UK's first roundabout for the one thousandth time brings me immense joy.

Great roundabout. My record is 10 loops in the car before getting dizzy.

A well-connected and constructed roundabout with low traffic. The sign certainly steals the show. The walk back to town centre is lovely.

Best roundabout in the UK! Well worth a visit. The first Roundabout in UK circa 1900, location for the Pegg / Frost 2012 cult film The World's End.

As roundabouts go, it’s up there with the best. It’s round, has lots of roads leading off it, and Is apparently the first one in the UK. It’s also a movie star after featuring in The World’s End.

Very round, not square, I am geometrically satisfied because squares are not a shape to roundabout

It is pretty circular. You can go around as many times as you like, you just do not feel that this is the oldest roundabout in the UK. 😄 It is nicely maintained.

Well kept roundabout, nice looking in the summer covered in lovely flower's, 6poomts of entry and exit on the world's first roundabout, nice to have a sit on the bench nearby and just chill

A highlight of Letchworth and one of the things that makes it so special. The roundabout is always well-kept and features a wide array of greenery which further adds to its significance.

It's OK. In a roundabout way. It was built round about 1907 etc Great if you wish to tackle tricky junctions in a leafy town
