I really do not expect a maintenance man to be carrying out work to the sewage / drains whilst I'm getting changed and making comments about rust and toilet paper blocking the drainage. Surely management would have known he was due today and sealed off the area well in advanced?! VERY disappointed. Also once again the jacuzzi is well below temp at around 18 degrees.

Always a wonderful experience! The gym is well-kept and visually appealing and the experience was only improved by the warm welcome and swift assistance provided by Lily at reception. Will be visiting again and would highly recommend!

This gym has a lot work to do, the standard of the gym is low. The gym provides multiple equipment, staff are helpful but the cleaning team are not doing what they should be doing.( not cleaning to a high standard) they use the same dirty water repeatedly, everywhere. Life guard clean near the pool and push all the dirt in the pool while members are in the pool. Chewing-gum or plasta and gritt are the common things members find in the pool. Their is a too much mould around the pool area, from the jacuzzi, to the steam room, the shower divider which stand by the pool area is completely worn-out and the sauna stinks of pee. In the main showers, the mould is very apparent on the sealing, the tiles on the wall can be a lot more cleaner, like blood stain or dirt and mould. Sometimes the showers is out of use but email are not sent to let members know. The shower gel the club provides are too much diluted As u dispense the shower in your hand its already wash away from the very high showers. If u do manage to shower with the shower gel that david lloyd provides after being in the pool, you'll be stinking of bleach as u walked out the gym as a result. The treadmill around the pool area are all sticky to touch, worn out to a very low level and their excuses are that because of the humidity around the pool area, that's why its sticky to touch..it is inconvenient. A great amount of platinum members found it ridiculous as excuses from David lloyd stevenage. Getting through someone via the app can take at least 6 to 8 weeks before someone actually get back to u. At the main point (réception) they have a lady with a loss voice, who makes it very hard for members to understand a word when she speaks. Emails are only sent out when the pool is closed but not When jacuzzi, steam room, sauna are closed because of maintenance issues. Emails or messages are not sent to members so that they are aware.. you'll only know when u get there. A platinum membership is @ £68.50 at the moment and this allow the member to have access to the gym anytime while its open.

The price you pay would be worth it if the gym wasn't as busy. I'm guessing that's what the other members thought too. There shouldn't be a reason why anything is 'out of order' when you pay upwards of £70 a month. Great staff, solid equipment (when it works). Would be a 4 star if it was 24hr.

I've been going to DL Stevenage for quite a few years now. It used to be really good but something has changed in the last year or so. Trying to get through on the phone is a joke, the pool temperature can be inconsistent, being pleasant one week and cold the next. One week was cold enough that my 1 year old was shivering within minutes and we had to get out. This week the boiler has gone so it's been cold showers all week. I get that things happen but when you can't even get through on the phone to find out if it's sorted yet just annoys me. I put in a complaint about something last year which went completely unanswered. It's frustrating because basic things were really good not that long ago. Please sort out the basics.

David Lloyd is always fun. There are lots of kids seesions and adult sessions, plus swimming lessons and aqua classes. Or you can choose to just swim or use the gym for any age over 8. This place is great and I recommend it for everyone in Stevenage. Or if you are not in Stevenage, check on maps if there is a David Lloyd gym in your area. There are loads on them, even in other countries!

Definitely the worst DL I've visited on my travels. Cafe area ok but small. The pool water was very cloudy and strangely warm at one end but the lanes were quiet so I had a decent swim. Also there were some treadmills stuffed in by the pool ends, which just seemed weird. I didn't go into the gym, so can't comment on that. The changing rooms need improving, very outdated, lockers very narrow and there lots had cable ties locking them. Not sure why. This DL isn't quite up to the standard of the others, but it's ok if you're passing through.

Beware DL's cancellation policy. 3 months subs paid out when you can't use it is a bit salty. Swimming lessons for our children were great, can't fault the coaches, but pricey when you add it to monthly membership subs. Overall it's nothing special. It's an average health club in soulless leisure park unit but there is a very helpful and friendly lady in reception. Unlikely to ever go back if circumstances change.

I have been a member since January and connot wait to leave this club. Changing rooms are shabby with two manhole covers taped up. It would cost no more that a couple of thousand to fix this, but I am told its been like this for 2years. Locker doors fall of their .hinges. most lockers are taken with yearly membership. Gym is good and classes are good. Staff are really helpful. Spa area, what a joke, since January the steam has not worked properly, with it continously being hit and miss whether it will work or not, Jacuzzi is usually OK but some times its cold. Sauna works fine most days but u can't swing a cat in it It's a club that needs a refurb but whilst us mugs are paying, why would they. TAKE TAKE TAKE Save your money and join odyssey down the road or nuffeild round the corner As I said I will be fulfilling my contract and will cancel at the 1st opportunity., but david lloyds will continue to rip me off for the rest of the year by not supplying the services isigned up for. DO NOT JOIN, PLEASE BE WARNED , ITS POOR AND YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF

Seems to have gone massively down hill since pre-covid. Seems like the place needs a good update- always something not working. The cancellation policy is a joke as well. Used to be the best gym in Stevenage but has gone downhill.

The facilities are awful, there is a constant situation, monthly sometimes where they have issues with the water temperature, piping, a leakage. I completely get that sometimes things don’t go well but if I am to be paying what I pay monthly just to use the gym I would go to Pure gym. I like DL because of the additional selling points however it hasn’t been up to standard and I have a platinum membership! Like what’s the point? I am not happy about it. No offence but do waste your money

Been going for a while but wanted to change gyms as I do every couple of years but needed to give 3 months notice which is a complete con. Why would any gym need that much notice, this is the kind of notice you need to give on a house lease not a gym! I've now joined another gym with no contract, much cheaper and newer equipment.

Me and my son have been members for over 3 months and it’s a great gym. Stevenage one . Plenty of kids club activities and classes for the adults. I have found all the staff friendly and helpful. It is very clean and the jacuzzi is fantastic. I definitely recommend. It’s a bit expensive but I think it’s definitely worth the money.

Going to David Lloyd is now part of my daily routine. It’s very close to the train station which is ideal for my commute. Parking is not a problem, given the size of the entertainment park in which David Lloyd is situated. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Great examples include Lily who you will greet you at reception; and George the Personal Trainer, who is very knowledgeable and motivational. David Lloyd is kitted out with all the fixed weights, free weights and machines you need. Downstairs there is a nice sized pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There are plenty of different classes to join too. The changing rooms are spacious with plenty of lockers to secure your belongings (padlock required), with a few privacy booths if you prefer. Showers are private and temperature is adjustable. On your way out, you’ll find the café, which is stocked with protein shakes, healthy snacks and of course, coffee! I very much enjoy starting my day at David Lloyd.

Today I had the best start at David Lloyd health club in Stevenage!Adam is great and he did a tour for me and my husband, showing us around, explaining all the wide range of activities for adults and kids and answering all the questions I had!He offered us a drink and he got me the best deal for my membership including a NHS discount! I booked already my first out of three PT sessions included in the membership and few classes too, can't wait to start 💪

Only wished I joined sooner absolutely love this place its helped me rekindle the love of fitness that I am excited about going the next day. Also how the have handled my partner she has 3 herniated discs in her lower back and the staff have been amazingly professional and kind. So yeah would throughly recommend 👌

  • 5/5 Zoe V. 5 months ago on Google
I was so nervous, but Ian was calming and welcoming. I am not a fan of the gym, so to have a PT that met me at the front desk and talked me through was a real help and confidence boost. For those of you that are self conscious and embarrassed at a gym, Ian is fantastic!!

Adam at David Lloyd Stevenage made us feel so welcome and went over and above any initial expectations. I had no hesitation in signing my family up for a membership at this wonderfully warm and welcoming club.

Lovely facilities, but sometimes have had a few small issues with one staff member not doing the same as another, which at times has been very frustrating.

Went back after few months away due to operation. I had a lovely girl Ruby, I needed help with some apparatus in the gym im unfamiliar with. She was amazing. Spent time and showed me everything I needed. Even did me a schedule to help me through and to remember. Was really happy leaving there. Made me feel more comfortable and confident for when I'm back tomorrow. Great stuff. Highly recommended 👌

It was awful Worst DL I've been too Very dingy old building No privacy pool and jaccusi etc in the middle of the kitchen area. You walk past it to go to lockers etc. Running machines were buggy. Kept reclining the incline while running. Toilets were blocked and very out dated Not a great experience tbh

Over priced for what it is, pool and gym are always busy, you have find the quiet times to get on the equipment and get a decent swim, thinking of moving on..

We had a tour with Maria and she was fantastic, so friendly and made our experience so memorable! She is an asset to the club and deserves a big pay on the back from management. Absolutely brilliant!

I can never speak to the right department, the sales team is always busy and never on time, they NEVER answer their emails, I request a message from the app and they send it 5 weeks later… still not resolving the issue. I then book a call and they don’t call on time but instead 2 days later at a random time. Just awful customer service.

David Lloyd Stevenage is an Excellent friendly gym! Lily on reception welcomes me into the gym every morning. She is very bubbly and makes the gym a lovely place to be. The gym is very tidy, and provides numerous items of equipment and Tia on the bar makes me a lovely coffee everyday.

😐 Decent gym, good facilities, friendly staff. Only issue is the cheap price attracts a lot of kids who linger around the equipment, doing nothing but chatting, along with others who are busy filming themselves curling the 7.5s for their 200 followers on Instagram. Wouldn't recommend for serious gym...
