For £35 a night the bed was as comfortable as expected. But the ceiling bulging and peeling in the bathroom and the bath heavily stained from the leaking taps and black on the bottom on the bath was not nice. What was worse was the heavy smell of smoke in the room, the cigarette burns in the net curtains but all the headboard action against our bed wall with multiple people (1 female groans)for 3 hours into the night was the final nail in the coffin. The young man on the desk at check-in was friendly and polite.

From the walk up to the hotel to getting to our room and inside the room there was a strong smell of smoke. Within the room there was no remote for the TV, inside the chest of drawers there was the remains of sandwich's, moldy bread, cheese and butter. The shower ran from scaulding to cold with no middle ground. The door to the room didn't lock from the outside only when you were in the room. We only paid £31.50 but didn't even feel like we got our money's worth.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Entered the hotel room and the bed sheets had clearly not been changed since the last person had stayed, it looked like someone had dived out of bed two minutes before we arrived. Had some questionable "stains" on the bedsheets also, holes in the wall, toilet only flushed after 25 tries. To top it off, just as we fell asleep, we had someone barge into our room (how they opened it I will never know, I'm assuming all their keys are universal?) and ran out after apologizing. Overall, possibly the worst hotel I've stayed in.

Staff allow drug filled parties throughout the night. Heavy noise.no working shower in the room we were staying in, absolutly refusal from reception to have refund and no offer of another rooms shower after us and another couple begged for us to use a shower. Spoke to a member of management called John on the phone, who hung up on me. DO NOT STAY HERE - It's not even cheap for what it is. Best part is the pub next door, just seems like the spill out comes into the hotel allowed by reception

From walking through the door there was kids running around screaming shouting banging and crying till late at night. The shower enclosure was broken. I would never stop here again.

Worst hotel I've stayed in got told one price on the phone to be told basically double when we got there and an extra £50 on top for security when most places just save your card details. Got accused off breaking the key when they broke it letting us in the room. We then got made to leave 4 hours after checking in. The room was cold and the staff was constantly knocking the door so we couldn't even get any sleep in the couple hours we where there. AVOID THIS HOTEL

My wife is away with work, so booked on her behalf. She arrived then turned around and went. Sent me these pics, absolutely awful!

The rooms are right next to the reception so you can hear everything and everyone all night. The walls are very thin so you can hear through them and Because it’s cheap there were couples there, clearly just for a good time so you could hear that very clearly. When telling the reception they were very unconcerned and couldn’t be less bothered, as if it was the norm. The light didn’t work in the bathroom there was mould and hairs in the bathtub. Every single floor board made noise when stepping on it. Don’t go.

Rooms and corridors etc need a spruce up but service was very good by the lady on reception . Local lad that needed a room as Narrowboat in Ashwood Marina and unable to stay January and February there. Good food in Hickory Smoke house but take a full wallet if going to get fat

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Save your money and sleep on the street. The rooms were full of hair, mould, burn marks and DAMP. Apalling customer service from Neha the partner consultant manager. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Worst hotel ever. We arrived and there was a strong smell of bleach in the rooms, the floor was like an ice rink in the bathroom and therefore could have been a safety hazard. There was no remote for the TV and also the room was cold. There was a power cut midway through when i had a shower which left me freezing. And to add to all this, i STILL haven't received my security deposit back. It has now been 22 days. There's no phone number to contact. Just some awful live chat that doesn't work properly and social media have been rude and unhelpful too. Considering going to my bank's fraud team about it. Absolute shambles. Spend a little more on a proper established hotel chain like Travelodge or Premier Inn.

Unfortunately it’s impossible to leave a 0 star as they don’t even deserve a 1 star. I prebooked for 1 night as I was going to a friends wedding through booking.com. I messaged bookings.com asking if I could check in early as the check in time and my friends wedding was clashing both at 1pm. Booking.con gave me the number to call the hotel. I called the hotel 3 times. The first 2 times I pressed option 2 as instructed to discuss a current booking and the phone just cut. I called back for the 3rd time and press option 3 for “something else” I got through to someone who didn’t seem to know what planet he was on. He asked for my booking reference number and what I was calling for. I explained I was enquiring about checking in early. He went quiet for a while, he then started confirming everything from what I had already paid, the date of booking all irrelevant stuff and said check in is at 3pm. I told him booking.com said 1pm not 3pm and asked me again what I was calling for. I told him again I was calling to see if I could check in at 11am as the wedding starts at 1 and it was a good distance from the place where my friend is getting married. He then said I had to contact booking.com to discuss an earlier check in. I told him I already had and they gave me the number to call the hotel. He said he couldn’t do much for me. I made him aware that f I couldn’t check in early I will be cancelling the reservation. He started confirming my booking details again so I just hung up and cancelled the reservation. I’ve now had an email stating it’s going to take up to 12 days for a refund. It takes maximum 5 working days for a refund. As I new hotel branch they’re customer service is shocking. Do not book with these morons.

This is the second time I have stayed. Room was very clean and I had a very comfortable nights sleep. Great location as I went to Stourbridge for a night out.

I'm currently staying at the oyo days away lodge on the wolverhampton Road next to hickorys pub, my father in law booked and payed for this for me and my partner since been here Friday ive noticed when I've gone out and come bk my toilet has been used, I also noticed last night my partners medication has gone missing, I've spoke to the staff and obviously they are denying any involvement said there is only 1 key per room. What aloud of rot. Has anyone got any ideas on what to do about this please.

Following my previous review. I went back to the chain to get my deposit back since they have no active contact number. They refunded the money but took it out of my account again. Anyone reading this who has experienced the same - contact your bank’s fraud team because this chain has been flagged
