😠 I am loss of words! The receptionist is very rude and when you try to explain she says you are abusive. I sensed racist undertone in her voice. I was stuck with a daughter with a temperature of 38.5-39 degrees who is 1year. All I wanted was to see a doctor. Please improve your service. Agree with everyone on these reviews that the receptionists seem to be there purely to stop you getting an appointment. They get you to phone at only certain times which guarantees everyone is calling at those times and therefor you wait ages to get to talk to someone if you do at all - stupid system. I only managed to get an appointment for a blood test and one for my wife to register and when I/we went in the surgery there was not a soul there, which makes me wonder why the reception staff keep telling me (when I do manage to speak with them) that they are snowed under. My doctor (Mr Vemura) is excellent. Informative and helpful but the current system, service and "help" from the reception is very poor.

Impossible to get an appointment. Their website says you can book online, all the information is out of date. Apparently you can’t. Staff is so rude I am lost for words.. not helpful at all. I waited in a queue for over half an hour (I was in a queue of over 30 ppl) only to be told they cannot book appointment. Call again..is what I hear every time I call them. What exactly am I paying for from my taxes? Because it’s definitely not for NHS healthcare.. I visited GP once in my life and hardly ever need their assistance but when I do I cannot even get an appointment!! Disgrace!

If I could leave a 0 star I would, both the receptionists and the doctors here are absolutely useless, they don’t have any care for the patients issues or health. They’re simply there for a cheap opportunity to be paid, I’ve been a patient of this medical centre for well over 9 years now and can safely say it’s become a joke.

For 4 weeks now it's not possible to book an appointment at that place. Calling at 8 a.m. 14th in a q and what I do hear as an answer " fully booked " same 12.30 17th in a q and what " fully booked " receptionist very rude showing no respect to peoples. Worst GP I have ever dealt with.

The worse GP I ever has to deal with. - Rude staff - Impossible to set the apoitmant (08.02 am phone line closed, 08.03 you are19 in a queue to speak with receptionist and then they inform you that is no more available apoitmant) - doctor Rude as well, I don't even know how to describe his behaviour, after explaining my symptoms he ask me , what I expect he will do? This list could be much longer.... Just avoid this place if you can!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. By reading other reviews I am baffled as to why/ HOW this surgery is still running or not under review. The receptionists are the most rude disrespectful people I have ever had the pleasure of talking to and can say the same about the GP I spoke to. Disgusting service. Will be registering somewhere else. 1000%

The receptionists talk to patients in the most discourteous ways they can find. Unfortunately you can expect a complete lack dignity or respect and I don't go any more than once or twice a year. Dr. Alva and Dr. Mumtaz and the team of nurses are amazing though, just a shame to have to deal with the reception to get to them...

Hi, i am a girl who had an appointment today with a tall and dark skin woman, in room 8 of this medical center (I don't know her name unfortunately). I hope that what happened to me today doesn't happen to anyone else. I went to have my first asthma test because I had some symptoms and the woman started to say me "You're wasting our time" and "You're not asthmatic!". When the lady was asking me questions like “Do you wheeze?”, I didn’t know the meaning of the word “wheeze”, so I asked her the meaning and she started to ask me in a rude and annoying way “How long have you lived in the uk?” with a tired face because I didn’t know the meaning of some words. She was making me feel stupid for not knowing the meaning of some words. I started crying because it made me feel bad and guilty when she said that I was just wasting her time. I've had other appointments with different doctors in this medical center, and they were all very kind. . I really hope I never have an appointment with this woman! Never again. Personally I think that she doesn’t have manners and she doesn’t know how to speak with respect towards her patients! This is unacceptable. Very disappointed!

Probably the worst experience for me and my family. We moved in Houghton Regis before three months and we wanted to change the GP.First the receptionist was so unpleasant when we ask paper for registration. She said, you can do that one line and turn off. After few days we take the papers ,fill them and she also didn’t take them because the whole family wasn’t present there .Yesterday I tried again, she didn’t accept again.I asked what is the problem? She answered-someone will call you and you can come with the documents and you be registered .I said ,how can you call me when you don’t have my number?First call us and tell you need an appointment about the registration. When you will have an appointment, you will come and give us the documents and we will finish the registration. My husband is a diabetic, his sugar level can be 17 or 7, I am a cancer survivor and I am taking long term therapy for that but her answer is -Sorry I can’t do anything. Maybe the doctors are excellent ,but the organisation and receptionists!!! No words!!

Been going here a year now - the nurses and receptionists are nice but I’ve found the doctors and prescription clerk to be dismissive. Ended up in A&E with gastritis - turned out the doctor who sent me there twice could have prescribed me the medication. And when a repeat prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy, first I was accused by the prescription clerk of repeatedly changing my pharmacy (I hadn’t) and then made to feel bad that their “convenient pharmacy” wasn’t convenient for me. After not taking the prescription for two weeks because it never turned up at my pharmacy, it turned out the prescription clerk only cancelled the prescription but never sent it onto the correct pharmacy. I was then told that my pharmacy should have sorted this out but the practise never owned up to their failings in making sure my prescription was sent to the correct pharmacy in the beginning or once I asked for it to be correctly resent. The prescription? For depression: so I’ve been going through life depressed as hell because I couldn’t conveniently collect my prescription from the wrong pharmacy. It took me calling the practice manager to get my prescription sent to the correct pharmacy because I was too nervous to talk to the prescription clerk (who hung up on me when I wouldn’t do what she wanted I.e pick up my prescription from the wrong pharmacy when I couldn’t physically get there)

Reception staff are unhelpful and rude and the surgery is taking on new patients with NO WAY TO ACCOMMODATE/HELP THEM. I can only assume they get a bonus for no. Of patients signed on to the surgery. I've called numerous times with emergencies and not been given an appointment. I pay tax and NO so not sure why I cannot get access to basic medical care at any point. There is no service infrastructure for residents of luton and dunstable and its worrying and disturbing.

Where do I start... Rude and arrogant staff. How do these people sleep at night? Do they realise they are paid by taxpayers money, which includes myself. I can't imagine them being in business if they had any competition. I will be writing to the MP and health secretary to complain. Just a disgrace.

They always Lie to you saying no appointment is available.they will never give you an appointment. Or less you ask for a manager then they have no choice but to give you an appointment. this is happening for years and we had enough of this so i have to share it with the public and see what happens. if you argue your point over the phone they will put the phone down on you. I don't understand why the surgery is even open if no appointments is available.

Impossible to get an appointment for a sick note. Been trying for weeks. All appointments gone by the time you get through. Every day. If I could rate it 0 stars, I would.

Very shody treatment in responding to emails from other health professionals regarding treatments and medication. Turn around time is ridiculous. Very short staffing all round. I would not recommend this practice, it's too over subscribed and can not cope.

TOTALLY RUBBISH! I attended due to bad head aches and left with tonsillitis medication when I did not have tonsillitis at all! It took nearly over a year to get a mri scan, now I’ve finally had it, problems have been detected! The scan was only given to me because I called 111! This gp is rubbish! Should be closed down!

I am a new patient here and I could see from the beginning the worse service ever they offer. My husband was, the first of all us, to register here as we moved recently in Houghton Regis. We wanted also register our 2 children except me as my due date is really close and change everything for some weeks left should have maken a disaster with papers and appointments already booked with midwifery service/hospital since I decided to giving birth in Watford. On the form he completed is not mentioned anywhere about children so once he attended the GP he asked for that but it's been told he was unable to do as the mother ( actually me) wasn't registered there. It was shame! At that point I had to register me as well, call the reception get an appointment for me and ask how to register, again, my children. Their answer: For my eldest (12y) complete a new form and for my little one (2y) I shouldn't have done anything because he would automatically registered since I would have officially been a new patient. This is what I did. Once I received the text from them I called for having an appointment for my daughter but one guy has done everything to not give me an appointment after 4.30 INSISTING, ripetitevely that it was the latest appointment who could give me. (Both , me and my husband had 3 appointment at 5pm.) I tryed to ask him why everytime I speak with him, there was always a problem with the time on appointment later on the day. He was so rude! My final answer was that I should have called back, again, and speak with someone else. I attended the surgery for my first appointment, everything was fine, the nurse very kind and professional. I explained my needs as I am epileptic and pregnant and I should have received ASAP the prescription, she reassured me telling that the Doctor should have been informed straight away and soon would have send the prescription. Tuesday morning I started to feel very sick with vomiting and diarrhea, my hunsband called at 8.30 ,on my behalf, looking for an appointment but it was, already, fully booked, he mentioned about my pregnancy and he's been suggested to call at 12.30 and more likely I would have had one appointment. This has never happend! Once called at that time, one guy told him no more slot were available and I would have gone , by transport , in some hub close to me. This was REDICULOUS!!! PREGNANT, EPILEPTIC AND SICK. In all that, I forgot to tell that at 11am same day I received a text (from them) where it says I had to call and speak by phone with a Doctor as I am a new patient because nobody could make a prescription for my epilepsy medication! My 2y old son is not yet registered because I can't register him face to face but instead I have to call and speak with one specific person and most of the time they didn't answer or they don't know how to do it. This is a completely NIGHTMARE!

Went to see a nurse practitioner as gp had no appointments left regarding chronic headaches for almost two weeks. The nurse was extremely unhelpful, dismissive and very unwelcoming. She took my blood pressure, told me it was normal. No other observations were done even though I was having an array of symptoms. The only thing she suggested was stronger pain relief. As an nhs worker myself I’m shocked that even the most basic of observations were not done. I left feeling very deflated, still unwell. I’ve never had such a poor experience in the nhs. That lady should go ahead and retire, clearly she is fed up with her job.

I have total admiration for the staff & especially Dr Alva for the care & help he has shown. Appointments are hard to book sometimes, but that is a Country wide problem. Thank you to all

We need another surgery in Houghton. It was a good surgery 50 years ago. But the town has grown so much, the surgery is struggling to cope.

I wouldn't give the doctors surgery one star receptionists are very rude and thinks they are now doctors and Dr jinmi is just as bad when you do manage to get an appointment she doesn't talk to you face 2 face she has her back towards you and thinks its OK to take phone calls on her mobile phone mid appointment and she likes to change the dates that your repeat is due or miss the due date all together if I was someone new to the area I would run amile from going there and even if you talk to the practice manger about Dr jinmi they don't do anything because Dr jinmi is the senior doctor so she can do what ever she likes when you question or even try to explain you get told that you are being rude or aggressive I wouldn't talk to the elderly likes that

👍👍 My wife was suffering with wax in both her ears, one was totally bunged-up. The nurse at our GP suggested we buy olive oil and use the drops for a week to dislodge the wax. A week later nothing cleared and wife was in a lot of pain and getting headaches, she could not get another appointment with th...
