For the price you're paying you can't really go wrong! I've been a member with The Gym Edmonton Green since they opened last year and so far I've found it a good local gym at a convenient place. It's open 24hrs a day which is always a bonus for some people, personally I've never been there past 9pm but from what I've heard from other members it's particularly quiet during those hours. It tends to get fairly packed 5-8pm during the evenings but if you go earlier in the day it isn't too bad. It's Edmonton so the other members aren't what you call individuals with proper gym etiquette so keep that in mind while working out. Also during the evenings and school holidays you get a large amount of young people at the gym so watch out for them as they normally come in unsupervised groups and they tend to mess about. If you're a regular gym user you'd easily familiarise yourself with the environment and available equipment within a few days of training there. The gym area isn't constantly monitored by the staff during certain hours so you do need to go and get a hold of them from upstaris if you require their assistance. The gym has a variety of equipment, including a selection of machines and free weights over two floors. A large stretching area to warm, perform stretches and an area with TRX bands for bodyweight exercises. The free weights area also has two power cages which are very handy for doing compound exercise such as your deadlifts and squats. During peak hours do expect groups of men just hogging these power racks for several minutes while being on their phone and boasting about their one rep max's with the worst form imaginable! my advise is that if you're planning on using the racks as part of your main workout either avoid the peak hours or train with someone in turn to avoid the waiting time. Overall as I mentioned earlier it's not bad for the price you're paying, it's easy to get to and located at a convenient place and it's open late so I'm giving it four star rating.

The people you see at the gym are crazy some can really be really off-putting. Like you would see a whole bunch of school children like there on a trip. Some people are actually mood killers. In terms of equipment They have all the equipment some may be broken but still work to the best it's hard to find dumbells as some people take 1 and leave you to chase the other 1 sometimes the whole racks empty so you would have to go on a treasure hunt

You're getting really terrible reviews, why don't you fix up?

  • 2/5 Verve E. 2 years ago on Google
Sooo here we are in the middle of a pandemic that has killed millions across the world, and Gym Group Edmonton don't seem to have been able to organise having soap in the men's bathroom. A bit disgusting isn't it.. a gym where everyone is touching everything, BUT THERE IS NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM 🤦to wash your hands at the end of your workout (let alone.. wash your hands after you finish using the toilet). Reported on 18th of November, reported again on 23rd of November when I visited and saw that there had been no change. From an earlier gym group promotion email “We have also increased the frequency of checks to the hand wash facilities and will ensure that we have plenty of soap available, with checks taking place every 30 minutes” …..Apparently not that simple then. Gym Group Management - please do what you say, please fulfil your basic duty of care, please don’t be disgusting. This is a £1 problem to fix.. go to the supermarket next door, and BUY SOME SOAP. I can do it for you, if it’s too complex to figure this out yourselves?? (Plz just give me the address where I should invoice you, I'll come every day and leave a new £1 hand soap for you). Outside of this one worrying issue, the gym is spacious, well equipped, and I'd like to keep visiting if I know this issue will be addressed.

I've been going to this for years, and it serves its purpose and the staff are pleasant but definitely not what it used to be yet the price is going up. There are always broken machines, especially the treadmills. And take forever to be repaired. The most disappointing element is the classes, they use to be so many classes on offer across various times and types. Now there are hardly any and if there are you have to pay. If you are a person that likes classes your better off going to a more expensive gym with more free class options because, by the time you pay for 3 additional classes a week, you'll be out of pocket. The last thing is there are never any tissues on the gym floor, which I find odd. I will check out some other gyms in the group just to see if it's a reflection of the area.

Generally crowded, elevator is not working and no hair dryers.

More than enough equipment to meet all your general needs. Generous amount of space to compliment all types of workouts. Lift not always available and has a tendency to break down often making it difficult for people with disability to access. Overall a decent gym at reasonable prices.

Great gym, lots of equipment. Great staff and management, always friendly and ready to help. The manager Driss is a credit to his gym as well as his agm Jerome. Laura gives amazing classes, stay away from the fit pump unless you are a veteran tho, DANG it was hard 🤣

As a paying member of the gym, I believe that it is reasonable for me to have access to functioning locker facilities. Lockers are an essential amenity for gym-goers, as they provide a secure place for personal belongings during workouts. The fact that the lockers have been out of order for such an extended period of time is unacceptable. Not having access to the lockers not only inconveniences me but also raises concerns about the safety and security of our personal belongings in the gym. It is discouraging to see that despite being informed about the issue, the situation has not been rectified. I kindly request that you take immediate action to resolve this matter. It is crucial for the smooth operation of the gym and the satisfaction of its members that functional lockers are made available as soon as possible. I urge you to follow up with your staff about the status of the locker replacement and ensure that the necessary steps are taken promptly.

This is not a space for serious trainers. The treadmills are often broken down. When they work, they have a 20min time limit; barely time to warm up if you're any kind of serious runner. The stair climber has a low time limit also (I think 30min but it's a while since I used it, less if not 30min, definitely not more). There are too few free weights, squat wracks and benches and the increments between dumbbells are 2kg (not 1kg). It's rare if you can do your full workout uninterrupted by having to wait for free weights. The male changing rooms are disgusting (the smell from the toilets is terrible). And a number of the locker doors both in the changing rooms and the main gym areas are faulty if not completely torn off their hinges; so you have to choose your workout time or get lucky if you want to take anything you don't want to carry around with you during your workout. Membership is cheap (just under £30 / month depending on the tier you pay for) so I guess you don't get what you don't pay for.

The gym is big, spacious, and has lots of equipment, which is excellent. Compared to other gyms, I would expect it to have a reception desk, so it would be easier to ask for information if you visit before becoming a member. You'll need to buy a pass/membership first, so you can enter and talk to someone. Also, PT's are nowhere to be seen; if you see one in a blue shirt, they're most likely busy cleaning. I wanted an induction on the first day, and I saw no PT that could help me, and technically you're not able to book online even if there's a section for it. Now, onto cleaning, the women's w.c. is full of toilet paper on the floor every day, making me wonder.

I'm not sure why The Gym Group bothers having rules when none of their staff do anything to enforce them. Lockers constantly have stuff in for weeks, no one puts any equipment back, people record with tripods on the gym floor without asking anyone, and some equipment layout is dangerously close to other bits. Nearly all staff are never on the gym floor to ensure members follow the rules or to tidy up equipment, they are only available in the office, or come out to train a client then go back. At least the membership comes with unlimited classes, for a massive choice of a total of 7 a week at the moment, with very limited times and basically no difference between them. Many of the lockers have been broken for years now, as are most the benches in the changing room. The equipment is mostly dated and of low quality. The staff are at least friendly and polite. If you have the choice to go to pretty much any other gym, do.

Just did an abs class with Mark Hill.. I always feel like I push myself harder in his classes and he motivates me to do that . I am really enjoyed this session and I will attend more .. Mark is professional in what he does and that shines through his work .. You can tell he has many years on his belt and I am glad I can use the gym group to access this trainer.

Great workout equipment fit for me and my needs , respectful, helpful team, clean facilities and equipment, drinking water available. Only thing is that the elevator needs fixing for individuals who cannot take stairs, it's down quite often.

The 'Live Capacity' function has not been working for some time, which is probably one of the key features of the app - would be great if this is fixed soon. Some of the machines are stiff and could do with a bit of oil. Apart from that, the layout of the gym is great, friendly staff and overall good gym in the area for the price.

If you're on a budget, and looking for cheap gym with center location close to Malls, NHS, Supermarket and Overground, I would recommend The Gym But obviously, with less price you cannot expect more with the gym kit, lights and music which is quite average Lockers needs repair, gym machine needs maintenance Overall I would rate it 3-3.5 considering the price and location With 2 programs : 22.99 GBP and 27.99GBP (Plans and rate might have changed)

This Gym is great value for money. It's modern, has all the equipment that you need and is kept clean. The staff are friendly, professional and skilled. I'm training with PT Simon Pecak who really makes that extra effort to tailor our sessions to my needs. After an inactive lockdown and a wrist fracture he is getting me back in shape and fit again. I highly recommend him to anyone wishing to try a PT or needing that extra expertise and/or motivation.

Disappointed for a first time at this gym! Weights all over the gym, no members of staff on gym floor to offer any help, 3 pieces of equipment taken over by one individual member. Not worth what you’re paying for!!

They stole my bike at the bottom floor... Rather lock up your bikes in the streets.. No security or cctv surveilence what so ever ( or the company too dodgy to Finance that!)! Its dangerous...

The Gym Edmonton Green: A Disappointing Experience with Hygiene and Facility Issue Pros: •Spacious ground floor with ample open space. •Availability of lifts for accessibility. Cons: •Extremely dirty and unsanitary conditions observed. •Visible mould on gym equipment (pictured). •Lack of provided cleaning supplies for members. •Broken bathroom taps and brown mould on sinks (pictured). •Frequent out-of-order status for bathroom stalls (pictured). •Evidence of broken bathroom doors, with nails exposed, suggesting security issues (pictured). •Absence of a swimming pool. Overall Impression: I would not recommend The Gym Edmonton Green due to its unhygienic, disgusting, and dirty facilities. The presence of mould, broken equipment, and security concerns make it an undesirable choice.

Spacious and clean, equipment in good workimg order. Only dbells weight is max 38kg, is not enough to anybody who is more then begginer and this is a reason why i wont choose this gym as my main one...

You get what you pay for in this gym. A lot of kit so you don’t have to wait around. Helpful staff members who are nice and polite. But the hygiene levels are substandard as is the management. Hardly any antibacterial spray handy (So take your own) machines aren’t cleaned... only the floors are swept. Overall okay gym with sufficient kit. But run by a substandard manager.

Good Morning, To whom it may concern. I am writing today to complain about one of your employees. I just finished my morning workout and to be honest I have never been more frustrated and upset in my entire life. I would like to use the reviewing platforms to get the attention of the senior management team at The Gym Group to respect its paying members. I have never written a complaint email before but I just couldn’t take the bad attitude of one of your staff member. He was the only male, personal trainer I saw at the time and I am pretty sure his name is Tim. I was interrupted in the middle of a set of deadlifts by him, braking my concentration. Apparently because I didn’t rerack my weights. As I am highly organised person, always regard the gym rules and the etiquette in general I was trying to assure him that I put every single plate away. He didn’t say anything inappropriate however his body language and face expression were saying all. I don’t think I have to explain myself to him and wasting my precious minutes while gymming. I am not the one who always leaves plates on the floor so if next time he wants to accuse me of making mess just please improve your investigation skills first. Shame that he wasn’t brave enough to ask five massive guys working out around me, perhaps I was too white-ish girl I have been using this gym for about 3 years and I have never had similar issues with other personal trainers which is quite disappointing and I think I might cancel my membership and stick to a different gym. Regards Dominika

Clean 24 hours but the price has gone up the app tells you how many people are inside the gym which can help to go when there are fewer people

  • 1/5 Crystal L. 1 year ago on Google
Worst gym I've ever been to. Weight area was an absolute mess, super cluttered. There was even a bucket placed to catch the leaks from the air conditioning unit. Slack cables on most of the machines. Half of the lockers were broken too

  • 4/5 lorraine l. 1 year ago on Google
It is fairly decent. Would be good if the water in the machines was cold and not room temperature

  • 4/5 Suzan A. 2 years ago on Google
Good value for money. Very big. Always clean when I go in the morning. Great variety of weights and machines. The classes are enjoyable. The FitQuest machine is excellent, it shows your muscle mass and fat mass which is great to check your progress. You pay a bit extra per month for unlimited usage but it's totally worth it if you want to monitor your progress closely. Only downers are; I like to have windows in a gym and this one doesn't have any, also the changing rooms could have been split into cubicles for privacy when changing - it's just one open space, men and women seperate obviously, but still! Nevertheless, definitely recommend this gym.
