I love this place, such a big space to go walking. There is also plenty to do. My son like going on a Sunday morning when the miniature race boats are out. It has a really nice play area for the children and the water park is fab!! The cafe has good opening hours, really friendly staff and a good selection of ice cream flavours.

Huge park with great facilities including: a large lake where people can fish and a boating lake. A large kids playground with a kids water fountain. Lots of space for picnics and paths for walks, cycling and dog walking. Loads of wildlife to view too. Many free car parks with ample space to park. All within a short walk of the town centre.

This is our favourite park. Their facilities, the cozy cafe, with the best ice cream in Stevenage, their well kept playgrounds and the wildlife, make this park one of the best around.

It is definitely a huge and amazing park to go to! It has a cafe, children's park, and three lakes. A few people go fishing around the lakes. There are geeses and ducks. Lots of dog walkers and children.

Park is lovely, however the cleaners for the disabled loos like to rip up signs someone puts saying not to tie the red cord up. They keep making sure the cord is not reachable. This is a health and safety issue. So there's no regards for the safety of disabled visitors in this regard, if you're disabled please be aware of this.

Really nice open parkland with a couple of lakes. One of which allows peddle boating. 2 kids play areas one really big with outdoor splash zone the other is a small balance activity near the cafe. Definitely a great place to visit on a Sunday day. The kids had lots of fun.

Rode there on my motorbike, stopped there for 5 minutes befire moving on. Fairlands Valley is a lovely open space to go for a walk and to go fishing is that's your bag. It is very popular with dog walkers, young families and older people. Stevenage has a bad reputation but it isn't bad at all, it's a fabulous place to visit and live - like everywhere there are good and bad places - Fairlands is a great place.

Lovely day out for picnics, if you want to do any of the water activities you're best off going at the wekends

Nice, tidy, lots of seats. Shame the cafe closes early, and there's no ice cream van. Watch out for local noisy little vandals, though. Seems to be an element of out of control kids and no visible warden or occasional police presence to keep the oiks in place. Cafe is good. Always lots of happy, peaceful fishermen.

Beautiful little gem however there would be money made from anyone wanting to open a cafe near the waterfront- i first went with my son and we ate our five guys burgers on the very hot metal picnic tables then I went again one late afternoon to show my dad this lake and there’s no toilet or cafe after 4pm Our lake in Bedford has a lovely pub across from it

Vast space. Fun feeding the ducks. Good little play area and great for picnics. Nice little cafe. Only negative would be cafe isn’t cheap, slightly overpriced in fact. But a nice place to relax and enjoy the weather.

Nice park to bring your little one. A lovely playground and a nice lake and ducks. It also has a wet park which would be great if the weather was better. The cafe is perfect for the end of your visit. Promise of a ice cream is always a good way to entice your LO away from the playground 😁

My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed another great walk around the lake recently. Twas a lovely day with beautiful skies. My pedometer read well afterwards too. Parking is usually plentiful. I guess as it's mainly used by locals who live nearby. What a wonderful place to have on your doorstep.

This is the best place to spend your time relaxing in a pleasant environment. The location is awesome and the walking path will cover the lake, where you will experience the best views of the park and the lake .kids will enjoy the place, and the best suitable place for walking, jogging, playing, and spending the best time with your closest one.

Such a lovely park and lake. Plenty to see and do from the huge cafe, sailing, fishing, kids play area to the lovely walks. The dogs loved it here and my friend's dog loved trying to go and say hello to the ducks. Plenty of car parking and signs around the park to tell you where everything is. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful place within the town, good for cycling, walking, also available are pedalos. Lots of green space for picnics and a place to just sit. Near the play ground is also a splash pool (this is only open certain times check their website for days/times)

I took my children here for a visit to use the splash park. Unfortunately it was closed even though I checked the website which stated it was open. Never mind. We feed the birds and took a walk around the lakes which was beautiful with all the wildlife. The kids played at the park which they enjoyed. We visited the cafe for ice cream. The ladies there offered brilliant customer service even though they were very busy. I saw two people litter picking whilst i was there so it was very clean at the time. I love this place I think it is the best attraction we have in Stevenage. Would of given it 5 stars but a little bit miffed at the splash park being closed.

Lovely park, boating lake, separate lake for the ducks and swans and loads of walking routes. There is small cafe that does great ice creams and plenty of parking. The site around the lakes can be very busy on hot days but if you go around 6pm it's usually much quieter and a nicer walk. The whole park is huge and extends for a few miles either side of the lakes. Well worth a visit and so unexpected in the middle of Stevenage. Could do with a few more facilities and places to eat but still a great location.

Great place to go with kids. The splash park is fantastic fun for every age. Nice cafe with toilets. You can buy bird food to feed the ducks and geese. There are two playgrounds. Good paths all around the lake. Lovely place to spend a few hours or a day.

Always love visiting the Valley. Plenty of woodland, grassland, places to sit and enjoy the many views, a decent cafe and a superb kiddies area as well. Loses a star as they could open the bar seasonally at least in the evenings, or convert the beautiful but very shabby Marriott's farm house into some sort of pub restaurant affair. Opportunity missed methinks

A beautiful piece of (almost) natural green land in the heart of built-up Stevenage. Being at Fairlands feels as though one could be anywhere. Away from the traffic and buildings, it offers a relaxing and peaceful space to walk, talk, merry friends for coffee, take your dogs to, and generally get away from it all. It's spacious; there is water, lots of greenery, plus children's play areas.

Wonderful set of mini lakes surrounded by woods and trees that hide the residential areas. Good activities and large open areas to sit in sun or shade. Place to buy food and drink and also has a bar.
