Second time staying here and really enjoyed it once again. Staff are friendly and helpful, whilst the facilities are clean. Shop is always stocked of essentials, especially bags of ice for cooler boxes. There is also fire pits available to order for those cosy nights by the fire which is really nice to do with a group of people. I would suggest though that wristbands are introduced so that if people leave the site and come back they can show wristbands to staff instead of having someone approach and ask 20 questions in an accusing tone. I understand why as they don’t want random people to come in, but this would certainly help identify who is staying in what area of the camp. Also as we were given a list of camping/social etiquette including stopping music at 10:30pm at night, there should be one that you shouldn’t go into another field where other campers stay as this may also disturb them. There are some fields with play areas and some don’t, so kids shouldn’t really be straying off into other areas without supervision. Apart from that I cannot fault the site in itself. Would come back again for sure.

AVOID THESE FREAKS. Never had a worse experience in my life. If you read the rules you'll see that if you use the toilet you have to clean it after yourself as they don't cause I presume they don't get paid for it. As well being threatened with being banned for a little bit of rubbish on a peg cause they can't be bothered to tidy that either is ridiculous. The women I spoke with on the phone is a nasty piece of work. Plenty of other places to go definitely won't be going again nor will I recommend.

We had 3 nights here, we were visiting family so needed somewhere local to them. This was perfect. From the start, the staff were so welcoming, security gates as you approach and code for using the side gates to get in and out. The pitch we had was huge (maple) and location was excellent. Each area has its own small play park, however some were dated. However, each morning someone would come and check over the park for safety and damage I guess. Never seen this before in my life! Well done Henlow Lakes! We had someone visit our pitch minutes after we pulled up to tell us where everything was and what entertainment was on. Strick noise policy for the entertainment finishing at 9 and camps quiet by 10, and it was. We had a mobile number to use if we needed anything or a complaint and they were amazing. Little disappointed with the shop, more fishing things than food. Struggled to get something for dinner, no sausages, chicken etc and no veg or fruit? However it was bank holiday. We will certainly visit again! Great for families, everyone was friendly.

Henlow lakes Park run. Sadly it was a walk as so muddy and slippery. Will do it again when a little dryer. Saw a black squirrel which was great as never seen one before. Very tranquil place and I'm sure the fishermen were enjoying the fishing despite us all running past.

Anglers heaven and dog friendly sight. great location, train station within walking distance and lots of things to do close by. Fire pits available to hire on sight!

One of my favourite fishing spots. Very well run, staff are very knowledgeable and always very nice. Haven't stayed for camping, but everyone I have spoken to speaks very highly of the facilities. Fishing is usually great!

Used to be a fun camp site but not anymore. All they seem to do is patrol your camping area every hour telling people off and telling your kids to stop playing and go to the sports area. The idea of camping is that you can all play together outside your tent and have fun and keep an eye on your kids. Been going for 8 years but not anymore. You’ve lost your way somewhere and turned it into a bit of a prison camp instead of a fun place. If you want to get told off all the time then go.

Very nice location. Huge pitches. Ehu and all facilities. Pity it was impossible to turn the light on in the washing up room. This was reported to a member of staff, but it was still broken when we left. Otherwise recommended. Dog friendly.

Really enjoy going here fishing with my kids. Decent prices for fishing and an ok stocked tackle shop with the essentials plus a few extras. Well stocked lakes and surroundings are well taken care of. All of the staff I interacted with are helpful and friendly.

Great as a space for families with young kids - lots of good play areas and open spaces. Great for fishing - lots of swims and good fishing. Don't expect amazing views or peace and quiet. Very clean, well run site.

Bicycle toured through and were only allowed to stay 1 night (we wanted 2 so as to do some unloaded cycling in the local area the next day) as it was fully booked the next day. £16 each. Ouch. We were offered a standby pitch for 2 nights but it was right next to a childrens play area, so thought it would be rather noisy and another spot which didn't seem particularly safe to leave our stuff for our day ride, so we declined them. The staff were very helpful as there are no other campsites around. And after a long day's ride in the heat, our group pitched in an area all too ourselves (which wouldn't be available the next day) The oak area I believe, but had vacate by 12 the next day. Toilets were clean and so were the showers and grass nice and short with no topped grass left on. Unfortunately one of our party got locked in one of the showers for 30 minutes until we could hear her shouting.....the door had jammed and was promptly checked by the staff and put out of order. Each pitch has its own water supply which encouraged a group of feral youths to come into our area and start filling up their water pistols. When one of the members of our group was somehow hit by a stray shot of water. He politely asked one of the older children that he didn't want this to happen again. This resulted in a confrontation with the child's parent. We quoted the documents we were given on arrival "by booking you agree to prevent any member of your party from causing a nuisance or disturbance to fellow guests or staff in any way on site" Which thankfully due to the tension, allowed us to enjoy a quiet evening. The following morning the feral youth were loitering about and started throwing stones at us from over the hedge. On departure when we complained about the kids and told them there were quite a.few stones all over the grassed area, but told it is a family campsite as if we should expect that sort of behaviour.....

So the good ,child friendly 1 large players and smaller play areas in each camping field. Plenty of places to walk .The not so good toilets /showers need updating.

Very good campsite, facilities spotless and good size pitch. Great for kids as plenty of parks and open space to keep them entertained. Very helpful staff, John and his colleague, who helped to hitch our stubborn caravan. Will be back in the near future.

me and my friends went for the weekend we’ve both been here before and it won’t be the last time, the showers are single so your not next to anyone and loads to bathrooms spread across the site, the train station made it easy for day trips and the parks were nice and all kids got kicked out about 10:30 so there wouldn’t be much noise. the fishing areas were good as there are so many of them and they had a nice shop with rental fishing rods, crabbing nets and buckets and the food was cheap ( there were slushies and ice cream there too ) the people are quite nice there and it’s never to busy and no loud music, definitely will stay again. it would be a nice place for a pool

Well set up with good amenities, camping areas are subdivided which helps contain the kids a bit and provides a little privacy. There's water within 20m of each of pitch. The toilet & shower blocks are no distance (compared with other sites). Several in our group indulged in the freshly baked pastries you can book to be delivered in the morning. We enjoyed our stay with one exception ... the noise. We were near the back of the campsite, so 200m+ from the A507 road, and 250m+ from Arlesey train station but I almost laughed out loud when trying the sleep upon hearing a plane fly over head. On the weekend we visited, there was a cross-fit event on the Saturday with loud music from 8.05am (our kids had already woken us up). With exception of the cross-fit event, none of this can really be helped, it's just the location. If you want to come here to relax for some quiet time, bring some ear plugs. Between the road noise, trains, aircraft and wildlife chorus in the morning there is a constant din. I was able to sleep through much of it but my wife and others in our group had to use earplugs.

This was my 3rd stay at this popular site. It won't be my last. Being close to the A1 & a mainline train station, the location is great. The site is well maintained & has all I need. The fishing ponds are perfect for my Grandson. Fishing occupies him for hours. On weekends the site does get busy and the children make best use of the open spaces & play areas. However, by 10 pm all is silent. I'll be back next summer.

Didn’t feel comfortable during my stay, I experienced hostile vibes from the staff presumably due to my age. If young adults aren’t welcome then, have an age restriction policy.

Stayed in a lodge, with a very comfortable double bed in a separate bedroom, there was a pull out sofa for more guests and a fully equipped kitchen. The view from our lodge was perfect with one of the smaller fishing lakes right in front of us. On the verandah was a fire pit / barbeque logs supplied. Lakes were well stocked and maintained and all areas were secured by anpr technology.

From start to end we had a fantastic Coronation weekend, thank you to all the amazing staff. Here’s what made our weekend special: Firstly we were greeted at the check in booth by a friendly lady who had us listed and booked in at a pitch right next to the large play area. I know it’s a small thing but (in my experience) campsite check in staff are either awkward, have a chip in their shoulder or not present, so lovely to have a VIP level welcome. Gates are all ANPR activated so security is reassuring. We were met at our pitch by a nice man who talked us through the details and the weekends events. Once again very welcoming and friendly. Our caravan pitch was hard standing gravel with plenty of room for our awning. Electric and water points were right next to our pitch (there were plenty around). L There was a full itinerary of events laid on, clearly a lot of effort put in. There is a central clubhouse, called the Roundel, with a reasonably price bar, small stage and a gigantic fire pit. Outside was a burger van (although we didn’t use it). On Saturday we watched the Coronation on the big screen and then in the evening we enjoyed: roasting marshmallows, playing bingo, royal quiz and live music. The next day the kids went on a tractor trailer ride, we joined the family bowls competition (and was knocked out in the first round) and enjoyed a kids disco party (I quite liked the dancing too!!). There were some more events in the clubhouse in the evening but we were all too tired after the night before. In between the organised events the kids (6 and 8) were more than happy playing in the large play area. The site was absolutely silent over night with just a distance hum of traffic from the road outside. The shower and toilet block were very clean and plenty of warm water. Check out was 1pm for us so we had a nice lazy morning. While we were packing up the site reception called to say the kids had won the scavenger hunt competition, they were jumping with joy and quickly biked off to claim their prize (shop vouchers) 30 minutes later they were back with a collection of sweats and small toys. They have been playing with their parachute men all day! I can’t thank the staff enough, so much effort put in and every single member of staff I spoke with was happy, kind and friendly. We bought our caravan last year to make memories and this weekend at Henlow Bridge Lakes is what it’s all about.

The staff at the site were extremely kind, helpful and efficient. The facilities were kept in excellent order. There are plenty of activities for adventurous children and the lakes provide a real source of pleasure. A good location for walks and easy access to public transport. The staff have ensured that our motor home is safely stored until our next trip in 3 weeks time. I would highly recommend this site.

Lovely family friendly camp site. Really secure and loads of playgrounds to explore. The little shop is great and you can even get a delivery of fire wood to your tent.

Just got back from 4 days here and will definitely be returning. Gem of a campsite, well run, very clean with nice big pitches. Owners/staff always on hand to help and will go above and beyond. Looking forward to next time.

Big campsite with lots of acitivies. We went in the winter so not much for us to do personally but seemed like it'd be a great place to stay in Summer too

It's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a small, clean lodge with billiards and sauna. it's a great place to fish, go boating, and relax with friends and family.

Only stayed for 1 night late November but could tell it was a well run campsite. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Facilities are good. Layout of site and security is very impressive. Its only 30 mins from where we live, but will use it again as a stop off for a night to extend our holiday! Very impressed. A lot of thought and planning has gone into this campsite. Well done.

We’ve been using HBL as our close to home escape for a couple of years now and it never disappoints (in fact just got home from a lovely three day weekend there). The staff are always friendly, accommodating and always allow us to get there for 6:30pm once we’ve finished work. Thanks to Dave and the newish chap that checks us in, can’t thank you enough for this. £5 for Late check out until 5:30/6pm is an option too which is a godsend for those times when you don’t want to go home yet 😃 The site is always spotlessly clean, toilets and showers are throughly cleaned and checked throughout the day. Shop was always stocked well, milk, bread bacon etc. If you like walking there’s a small walk which goes around the perimeter of the site and around the top two lakes which is always nice, you can branch off into Henlow itself too, where you can find two pubs and a small convenience store and a chippy (Great chippy by the way). Only downside is you can hear the road but this is something we’ve got used to and doesn’t bother us in the slightest, once in our campervan you can’t really hear traffic. Definitely dies down at night too. Overall absolutely love staying here and looking forward to going back. Thanks again everyone at HBLs! Looking forward to coming back soon.

First time we've been camping after many years of putting off. We were there when it was busy and it didn't feel like it, really well spaced out, clean toilets/showers and staff to make sure everyone is having good time. Top tip in the shop you can order hot pastries to be delivered to your tent the day before!
