Maidenhead & The River, Thames. Lots of history, with Maidenhead's & Brunel's famous Bridges, I always look forward to a walk along side the River, watching the boats going through the locks and cruising up & down, stunning mansion houses & gardens to wow you too.

An astonishing feat of engineering. What's so remarkable about a brick bridge over a river? Check the span and the height. That shallow arch was needed to keep the GWR railway lines level. Trains progressing along level rails go quicker than those climbing any incline. What would Brunel have built with modern materials?

This a bridge designed by Brunel to carry the trains across the river. It has an arch that is good for echoes (but the nearby residents might not be big fans).

I love history and such land mark deserves to be exploited (as in: visitation, I'd like to be there again in the near future

Got to give the iconic bridge five stars but no stars for Network Rail. The bridge was built by Brunel and later widened by adding to each side; when looking up you will see the join lines. You will also see seepage that has made a complete mess of the beautiful brick-work. I was concerned not only for the image but also for the possible degradation of the structure. Network Rail has not bothered to reply to my letter, I can only hope they have examined and cleaned the bridge since.

Must have cycled over this bridge 7 times today! Was lovely sitting outdoors with my friend. Sunset was beautiful too from the east side. I also did a little sketch.

This is the longest and lowest single span brick bridge in the world build by IKB himself. It has an echo chamber effect so if you like yodelling it's well worth the trip. Otherwise the beautiful walk along the Thames is.

Lovely to walk along the Thames away from the town listening to the birds, watching the rowers on the river..... Stop under Brunel's railway bridge with it's famous sounding arch and listen to the echo, echo, echo 😁..

Flatest arch bridge build in bricks in the world! Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, it gas two spans of 39 meters each with only 9.80 meters of height. 5/5 for Brunel's achievement, 3/5 for who ever is currently looking after it.

👍👍 Grenfell Park is a lovely small to mid size park with much to commend it. There is a good size children's play area. Basketball /mini football area. A hillside tree lined walk. Pavilion cafe, fountain, picnic tables and a zip wire. It is well maintained and a credit to Maidenhead.
