What a find! This is a beautifully kept hotel, restaurant and wedding venue. The place must be 100s of years old and has been immaculately restored to give a that quaint countryside cottage feel. The grounds are particularly spectacular with mature gardens framing the buildings on all sides. Ohhh, and the food was outstanding too! My beef roast had been cooked to perfection and was soft and pink with a gravy to die for. We will definitely be returning 😋

Always excellent food and quality atmosphere. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Have been many times, got married here and will continue to keep coming back! Violet served us today and was excellent with our baby, and made a special effort for my Wife when she found out it was her 30th Birthday.

We had Sunday lunch for our sons 40th birthday in the conservatory, It was lovely very clean ,very prity garden good atmosphere, tables had plenty of room and air conditioning. Lots of parking. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS something for everyone great children's menu . A slice of cake was brought with birthday messages witch was lovely. My only niggle was the waiting staff were not very attentive, nobody checked to see if our food was OK, no thanks on paying the bill and no change was brought back to the table just presumed it was a tip (but service was added) very strange!! Just sharpen up the waiting team and it would be perfect.

Very nice setting, good rooms, clean and everything you need. Breakfast included is worth it, nice choice including fresh fruit. Restaurant is rather expensive in my opinion, especially if you are on a budget due to travel expenses. But staff in restaurant are helpful and attentive, offered complimentary additional food. Road to the barn has a massive pot hole and covered with water, advise caution, or do damage to your vehicle!

We chose to have our wedding reception at the farmhouse and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. They made all the planning so simple and easy, giving us advice, options and being responsive and flexible to us adding our own flair to the day. The run up to the day was stress free, with us being able to make adjustments when guests pulled out last minute. They day was perfect, everything was so professional and smooth. The food was impeccable, drinks perfect and the setting fabulous. It was great to be able to have so many guests stay at the venue with us, and breakfast the next morning was beautiful. We had so many guest complement us on the location and how comfortable their stay was at the venue. We couldn’t be happier with our choice.

Beautiful food. Lovely staff who are really well trained polite and very helpful. We have been a couple of times now and both times have been really impressed. Will definitely return.

Went there for a birthday lunch. Beautiful setting, good parking and great staff. All our meals were excellent and a good variety of dishes. We all loved our food and it is a perfect place for any special occasion. Staff provided an impromptu birthday cake for my brother -in in-law and made us very welcome! Well worth a visit! Looked into one of the hotel rooms which looked great.

My partner & I recently got married at Redcoats. We were in the early stages of venue planning over a year ago & randomly came across an open day there which just happened to be the following day. We went along with no real expectations & within a couple of minutes of being there we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Charlie Brimelow was our wedding coordinator & she was absolutely phenomenal every step of the way. Emails & queries were answered promptly & concisely & we were never made to feel like we were being a nuisance (although we most likely were at certain points!). She clearly works incredibly hard & is a credit to her profession. The day itself was a dream & we can't thank Charlie, the events team & actually every member of staff who works there enough. The way we imagined our day was exactly how it turned out & it takes a real team effort for a 12 hour day to go exactly as planned. The venue is amazing, the barn/bar/garden area were exactly what we were looking for, spacious enough for everyone but not so big that it feels like people are detached from one another. Our guests were so impressed with the venue, they loved the food (from the canapes to the wedding breakfast to the evening buffet - it was all delicious!). We had many guests tell us how grateful they were with the staff who were so helpful and ensured all their allergy/dietary questions/requirements were met. Staying at the venue on the night of the wedding was great too - the fact that they reserve all of the rooms for you once you confirm a date is another huge plus as you basically know that any guest who would like to stay overnight can do so. Thank you so much Charlie & the rest of the Redcoats team, we'll be back next year for our anniversary meal in the restaurant! Charlie & Pam 3/9/2023

We went with friends for Afternoon tea. Plenty of car parking and we were seated in a large conservatory with lovely views over the garden. The afternoon tea was really good and the service was attentive and I would have given 5 stars if we did not have to keep getting the waiting staffs attention for more tea and milk. It was not that busy and maybe having someone watching over the tables rather than congregating in the bar area may have been a good idea. Lovely location and a lot of money and time has obviously been invested in the grounds and buildings. Food was very good but just not quite the same standards as elsewhere in terms of the waiting staff.

Went to a wedding there. Very well done. Staff attentive for hours! Food excellent and served well expertly given the numbers. The bam used was large but felt comfortable there. Lawns outside and other areas to mingle. Bar staff kept very busy. The restaurant next to it looked very good to which included private dining rooms. Looked a little expensive but good place for a special time. There were many outdoor tables as well and trims too stay over.

Was at a birthday lunch during the week in "the old kitchen" private room. Excellent service and the food was amazing. Very much in the middle of no where but beautiful setting and well worth a visit!

Visited for a birthday lunch. The food is excellent (and correspondingly expensive). The service was slightly distant and a bit slow - there was a wedding being hosted at the same time and I think the staff were a bit overstretched. Overall a nice time - would happily visit again.

What a fantastic hotel!! Check in was seamless and pleasant. Room, though a little smaller than what I am used to, was charming, had everything I needed, and had been immaculately cleaned. A lovely modern bathroom with a heated floor - wonderful. The restaurant here is a very high standard, with a varied menu, my starter and main course where cooked perfectly. Breakfast is cooked to order and again was high quality. Throughout my stay, all the staff where very professional, friendly and helpful, I will definitely be returning when in the area again. Can't recommend high enough.

Went for afternoon tea. Very delicious selection and also the gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff were very friendly and welcoming too. One star off due to 12.5% service charge and charity donation being added automatically to the bill when would have preferred to be given these options at the time of payment. Other than this all was very lovely.

Lovely place. Attended wedding ceremony in the barn. Food was excellent. Staff were very good, willing to go above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Spent the night in one of the double rooms. Warm and cosy on what was a cold evening. Bed was very comfortable. Full English in the morning, with views out over their wonderful gardens.

Only ate here for dinner. Service was friendly although I think the waitress knowledge on wine and food was lacking considering the prices charged. Food was generally good but I feel overall considering the price I was expecting better. More surprises perhaps. Comfortable venue.

We would like to say a huge thank you for Redcoats for hosting and organising the wedding day of our dreams. Sophie Pitts was our wedding coordinator and was incredible at every stage of the planning process. She was super attentive, always answered emails quickly and was always willing to go out of her way to help in any way she could. It’s clear how hard she works and how much she cares, she is a real credit to Redcoats! Special thanks also to Charlie who took over from Sophie on the day and the rest of the team including all the bar staff, as they were all brilliant too. The day itself was so special, it ran exactly as we had hoped and more, it’s taken us a while to come back down to reality! Our guests had the most amazing time and were blown away by the beautiful venue, stunning rooms, lovely staff and delicious food. It was so lovely having all our nearest and dearest staying with us on site, we all had a wonderful breakfast all together in the morning. Thank you Redcoats for the best day of our lives, we will cherish these memories forever!

The room was fab! We have a greyhound and got a room suitable for a dog. The details were so lovely - huge comfortable bed, room was big and warm, it had a great vibe. The grounds are beautifully kept, flowers, plants, even in the winter everything is beautiful. A few meters away big fields for walks. The bar and restaurant (which hopefully we can leave a separate review for), are stunning - incredible food, nice wine list, the staff incredibly engaging attentive - super impressed. We had such a lovely waiter and head of service, which went the extra mile - my partner had a dairy allergy which we mentioned before our visit - they were prepared and made us feel so welcome. Woke up the next day - super refreshed. The breakfast again super!! cooked and buffet, again super produce and tasty. The waitress again and the staff super professional and welcoming - relaxed, informal and professional - couldn’t of asked for more. The women on reception again very engaging and smiley - everyone was beautiful in their efforts and service. We booked straight away. We had a few issues in the past but the manager we spoke with by email was very accommodating and we had to be the annoying ones to change dates but again we were treated with respect and they made lots of effort - so thank you - long review - but honestly really impressed!

Booked the Mother’s Day 3 course meal. Booking & any issues before hand were politely & professionally handled by Charlie, her customer service was excellent. The barn is a lovely venue, it was fully booked but plenty of space between tables & a nice burble of noise between all parties without being overpowering. The food was good, certainly no scrimping on portion sizes & it was a shame to see some of the roast potatoes waste. The staff were friendly & attentive without being overpowering. Nice spacing between courses. All in all, a nice experience, nice atmosphere, lots of happy faces & we would go back again.

We had our wedding at Redcoats Farmhouse on the 3rd June and it was such an amazing day. From the start of the planning process through to the actual day, Charlie Brimelow and the Events team were simply fantastic; they were responsive, helpful and patient! Everything on the day went according to plan and we were blown away with the level of professionalism and standards on the day. It was faultless. The moment I saw Charlie in the morning, my nerves about the running order of the day were completely put at ease. I cannot thank Charlie and the team enough for their hard work. I do not have the words to express our gratitude. All of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was, how good the food was, and how friendly the staff were. All round, this is a perfect place to get married and I would highly recommend the venue to any couple who are thinking about getting married here. Thank you so much to Redcoats for making our day so special and one which we will treasure forever. Ashley & Simon x

We stayed here last weekend and enjoyed the beautiful garden party event. Lorraine on reception was the absolute star of our weekend, so lovely and attentive during our stay. On arrival she had upgraded our room and even carried chairs for us out to the garden so that we didn’t have to sit on the grass. In general all the staff were very friendly and helpful and just seemed happy to be there which was refreshing. Food was beautiful, breakfast wasn’t just a buffet style, it was delicious and high in quality. Have already recommended Redcoats to friends and family. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great evening out , Fabulous choice of tasty food, outstanding cocktails, beautiful decor, with friendly but professional staff. We were a group of 8 celebrating a special occasion and we received outstanding service from all the staff. Special mention to Harry, our waiter, who made our evening extra fun and also Compliments to the chef. We will definitely be booking a table for a night out again at Christmas. Thanks to everyone in the Redcoats team.

What a beautiful hotel! This is beyond a 3 star hotel and deserves to be rated higher. I booked this for a friends birthday treat and we had such a wonderful stay. The restaurant and food was beautiful and all the staff here are so welcoming and attentive. The additional personal touches we received on arrival and throughout our stay to wish my friend a happy birthday were so thoughtful. We will definitely be returning. We stayed in the original farmhouse and our room was gorgeous. The hotel gives a real home from home feel with open fires throughout. Cannot recommend enough.

Dinner for 6 on a Saturday , having booked, Warm welcome and settled in Bar for pre-dinner drinks. Good selection of Wines, Spirits and Beers. Given menus as we sat and chatted. Food order taken in Bar and soon after taken to Table. Food is of a very high standard and well presented. Service is warm, friendly and professional without being overbearing. Sometimes you don't get what you pay for, but you certainly do here. Will return

Lovely lunch service. We ate in the newly refurbished orangery as a table of six. The starters for both the adults and children were great (cheese mini doughnuts and the king prawns on the grill and the avocado dip went down a treat for the kids!) and there was a good choice for mains; the burger was really good quality and the fries were a delight! As we had birthday cake waiting for us at home we didn't try the deserts but we will definitely be back. The staff service is very good, attentive without being overbearing. Well worth it for a meal, can't comment on the hotel but it does look lovely.

As a wedding photographer, I visit a lot of wedding venues and The Barns at Redcoats is second to none in every way. I recently was lucky enough to spend a weekend photographing two weddings in a row there, and it genuinely was a pleasure. The staff are incredibly professional, in particular Charlie and Charlotte who looked after my couples that weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they catered to every need that my couples and I had, and did all of that with a genuine smile on their faces. This goes for everyone, from the co-ordinators to the bar staff. The grounds are beautiful for couple portraits, and the decor inside is elegant and perfectly designed for the venue. Plus the food is delicious! When talking to my clients, they were incredibly complimentary about the venue and the staff. I most definitely would and have recommended this venue to couples looking for a barn venue, it is a beautiful wedding venue and I always look forward to returning. Hopefully it won't be too long until I'm back!

We had our wedding at the Barn at Redcoats back in June and couldn't have wished for a more perfect day. The team were brilliant from the very start of us booking, were so understanding when we had to postpone due to the pandemic and were so accommodating of my numerous requests and questions in the run up to the big day. They allowed us to have our day exactly how we wanted it - Charlotte Cherry, our event co-ordinator, made sure everything ran smoothly and I couldn't get over how hard she and the rest of the team worked. All our guests commented on how lovely the food, the hotel rooms and the venue itself was - we couldn't have wished for anything more!

Are you kidding me? This place is fantastic. Went for a wedding and stayed the night and for lunch the next day. What a gorgeous and beautiful venue. The service was always prompt and we didn't eat anything we didn't love. Exceptionally well done and the ground are just spectacular. SO many walls, gardens, and backdrops for amazing photos, both inside and out (sorry, only have a bunch with people in them, but trust me - EASILY INSTAGRAMABLE).

Had an incredible lunch at the Farmhouse. The food brought genuine smiles to our faces, their sauces alone were rich and full of flavour! The staff were really friendly and helpful to the extent they helped us celebrate a birthday with some complimentary treats. Decor was rustic yet modern with really nice country setting. Highly recommend!
