Great place to visit for a couple of hours. Get to see and feed a variety of animals on a real working farm. Good local staple summer pass time, you will have to travel quite a way to find a similar place to visit. Cafe and gift shop selling flowers, large overspill car park. I heard they are opening a farm shop this year selling their own produce in conjunction with Greencare@norton

Go here frequently with my 1 year old. She loves it! Lots of animals to see, got to feed the lambs in spring. Lots of big open space for picnics. Large play area for big and small kids. They have things going on through the day, trailer rides in the summer etc. we have the annual pass, and it’s really paid off. Would highly recommend if your local.

Really good place for kids to see animals. Not a major variety but the main ones covered. For 2 adults and a baby entry was £16. They don't do emergency services discount which is fair not everywhere does. It's a 3hr visit time kind of place. Food prices were extremely expensive. Nearly £3 per cookie, £2 per can of drink and £2 for a fruit shoot juice. Best advice, take your own food. Lots of goose and duck poo all over the sitting grass so take a blanket or picnic mat. April 2023 update.. rating from four stars down to 3 now due to the new parking layout. BAYS ARE TOO NARROW to open car doors and get children out !! Abysmal parking. It's chaos.

Great day out with family. Good selection of animals, nice walk with plenty of activities such as sand pit, rides and a train scene worth every penny. (Don't forget to take 20p). Great seating in a barn if wanting shelter and outdoor benches for a picnic. Cafe has good food and drinks tho a little expensive.

Visited twice recently, great place for younger children as so much for them to do, interaction with animals, play area, tractor rides. Picnic area and cafe.

Standalone Farm in Letchworth is a charming and delightful place that is perfect for families and children. From the moment you arrive, you are transported into a world of wonder and excitement, with animals to pet, playgrounds to explore, and activities to participate in. One of the most impressive aspects of Standalone Farm is the range of animals on display. From cows, pigs, and sheep to chickens, rabbits, and goats, there are a variety of creatures for children to meet and learn about. The farm also offers the opportunity for children to pet some of the animals, which is always a highlight for young visitors. In addition to the animals, Standalone Farm has a variety of playgrounds and play areas that are perfect for burning off some energy. The indoor soft play area is a great option for younger children, while older kids will enjoy the outdoor playground and sandpit. Throughout the year, Standalone Farm hosts a range of events and activities, including seasonal events like pumpkin picking and Christmas activities. There are also regular activities such as tractor rides, pony rides, and animal feeding sessions that children can participate in. The staff at Standalone Farm are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to answer questions and share information about the animals and the farm. The facilities are well-maintained, and there are plenty of places to sit and relax throughout the day. Overall, Standalone Farm is a fantastic day out for families with young children. With a range of animals to meet, playgrounds to explore, and activities to participate in, it offers something for everyone. Highly recommended!

Little visit with the Grandkids to spread out the Easter Hol’s. Reasonable price in comparison to some farms. £30 for a family ticket and that included 3x bags of animal feed. Small parking area in relation to visitors. So would avoid disappointment or having to look elsewhere to park by getting here first thing. However, we managed to park first left after the entrance and thankfully no yellow lines or restrictions. A lovely little place for toddlers. Would personally say over 6 or 7 not so but having said that the park area’s great and so if you have older children they would love it. Plenty of picnic benches so if your bringing your own lunch all is good. Plus helps in saving your pennies. The cafe looked nice but can’t fully comment as I said we brought our own food. All in all great day 😀

Pretty disappointing to be honest. Really not much there walked around within in 20 minutes had to walk round again to warrant what we paid to get in! Went into the cafe to get something to eat only had two sandwich options staff working in there had no personality and it actually felt like it was a chore to communicate. One was sweeping the floors when we went in and it actually sounded like she was huffing and puffing when we walked in. I appreciate it’s been a hot couple of days but come on we’ve paid good money the least you could do is make us feel welcome!! Pointless buying food for the animals too as you can’t actually get close enough to any of them to feed them another waste of money!

Mostly was a long walk around fields with a few animals in. I didn't expect much as I know its small but I was a little disappointed. Cute little area with ride on tractor toys, and a lovely play area and lots of picnic benches. Good choice of day out if you are in need of entertainment for a toddler, we will definitely go back, hopefully when covid is less prominent we will see more of the things they offer.

Went here for the first time today. Me and my son had such a great day! Spring time was definitely a great time to visit as there was loads of baby animals to see! My son's highlight was getting to feed a lamb! While other farms charge (some £15) this was included in the price! Obviously it's not a long feed but so worth it and made my son's day being able to do this! We spent a good 4 and a half hours around the farm looking at all the baby animals and doing the couple of farm trails around. Also playing in the playground aswell. We took a picnic with us so didn't use the cafe. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! We didn't get to do a tractor ride as I'm not sure this was working! As it was easter holidays we did an Easter trail looking for the eggs around the farm to answer questions then handed it in to receive a little chocolate egg! We would definitely return I'm not sure we would of been there as long without the baby animals to look at. Great value for money! Will be returning next spring!

Lovely place to take the kids for a day. It would be nicer if they would take a bit more care of the sheeps sometimes they look too dirty and seem like they could take better care of them. Staff at the cafe is also a bit slow so in busy days queues are likely. Perfect play area and lots of entertainment for the little ones.

Fun day out with the kids (6 & 1 1/2), plenty of animals to see and quite contained so not too much walking around. Great signage so its easy to find out what is going on. Big play area with plenty of space for picnics. Free tractor rides around the fields too.

A wonderful place to go. Wonderful staff who make such an effort to create 'happy' memories by allowing little people the chance to experience nature at first hand and always thinking of new ways to enhance the experience/visit. Thank you

What a wonderful farm and great value! There was an outdoor play area and farm animals along with a cafe. The farm is totally buggy friendly which is a bonus!! The staff were all so lovley and a special mention to the wonderful magical fairy garden session we attended with Alice. It was truly the best workshop I have been to and the kids loved it!! Really made the day and so glad we booked it! Thank you

A lovely family day out! Very happy with the ease of booking online and family friendly facilities available! A small well maintained farm with plenty of space for play and excellent covid washing stations. This farm was very buggy-friendly and the longer walks had been laid with wood chips for greater access. Will recommend!

The playground kept the kids entertained for hours. They were able to stroke the ponies and horses. They were disappointed that you can only drop the feed down a chute into a buckets for the animals, so they cannot get close to them. The cafe is clean and have a good range of food to choose from. But we brought out a packed lunch so just had ice lollies.

Having been here last year we were super excited to visit again. We started by having a nice lunch. Then our son saw the ride-on toy tractors so we went to let him have a ride. The path is so uneven (yes it’s a farm, but massive cracks and potholes) our son grazed both knees. He then wouldn’t settle (he’s only 2) so we asked for a refund having been in the farm for all of 5 minutes and after spending £30 on lunch. I was rudely told by Corrine that no refunds were given and that kids have accidents all the time. Not what I wanted or needed to hear. We got given a pass to return and was told that was generous and not usually given. Please think about where your ride on tractors are and perhaps resurface the ground to be kid / accident friendly. And train your staff to have empathy to a wrought parents.

The main highlights of our visit were the play area and the miniature railway. Our daughter also liked the (one off) space dome, which was the main reason for our visit. The actual farm was quite underwhelming. There just isn't all that much to see, and the site is in serious need of being updated. They have just spent money renovating the car park to accommodate more visitors and on the play area, but haven't bothered with the actual farm, which seems quite strange. If it was marketed as a play area I'd probably have given more stars, but since it's supposed to be a farm I can't justify anything more than 2.

We go to this farm on a regular basis and have an annual pass. There's often events on, especially in the holidays, and the children love to see the animals, ride on the tractor, brush the horses and explore the garden and fairy woods. We take a picnic and find a nice place under a shady tree in the summer or eat inside the barn at wooden tables if necessary, due to the weather. The cafe is ok but is quite expensive and has a limited menu. The play park and ride on toys are perfect for the kiddiwinks and after visiting the animals, we head to the other side of the farm to this area. I like that it is hidden from little people when we first arrive and they can concentrate on farm animals and walks before playing on some very nice, well thought out play equipment.

We visited on a bank holiday Monday and it wasn't too crowded, lots of free parking available just inside the gates. A very pushchair friendly place, ideally suited to young children. Lots of farm animals to see up close, lots of space for picnics both outside or in the large picnic barn. There's a huge play area with equipment for little toddlers up to bigger children. The model railway is very cute and kept our toddler entertained for a bit! The cafe was ok, tea was a bit weak, but a good selection of nice-looking cakes and sandwiches. Recommend!

Have been a number of times and I can say this is the best children’s farm that we have been to and it is worth visiting just for the outside play area alone. In fact when we visited a few weeks ago we actually spent the whole day in the play area! To have that in addition to the animals, tractor rides, ride-on toy area, cafe, shop etc…. you really can’t go wrong. We also love the model railway which is a bargain at 20p a go!

A lovely day out. We regularly take a picnic with us. The girls love visiting the animals, feeding the goats, brushing the pony, watching the lambs being fed (not yet brave enough to give the lamps their bottles yet). The tractor/trailer ride always features in our visits (when able to run), as do the the little electric cars. The playground is exceptional, with equipment suitable for our girls from when they were 18 months. There is a good range of play equipment for all ages and a nice sandpit for the little ones. The annual pass is good value. There is a nice tea shop which we always visit for an ice lolly treat at the end of the visit which also does some hot food, cakes, coffee, tea etc

In Standalone Farm, where nature thrived, A tale unfolds of a clash revived. An army of capybaras, bold and strong, Met the alpacas, determined all along. On rolling hills, the battle did ignite, A clash of creatures, a breathtaking sight. The capybaras, with their sturdy stride, Raised their paws, standing side by side. Their fur, a cloak of earthy brown, They wore resilience like a noble crown. With gentle eyes and a spirit fierce, They vowed to protect, their hearts sincere. The alpacas, graceful in their graceful form, Stood tall and proud, weathering the storm. Their fleece, a tapestry of colors bright, Reflecting wisdom, shimmering with light. The sun bore witness, casting golden rays, As tensions grew with each passing phase. The capybaras charged, a thunderous wave, While alpacas stood strong, determined and brave. The clash of hooves and gnashing of teeth, Echoed through valleys, beyond belief. Nature watched in awe, a silent cheer, For both these creatures held places dear. Amidst the chaos, a moment of grace, A capybara halted, a pleading embrace. In eyes of alpacas, compassion awoke, A truce was formed, as harmony spoke. For Standalone Farm, a lesson was learned, That unity triumphs, bridges are earned. No longer foes, but allies they'd be, A testament to the power to see. Together they roamed, side by side, In Standalone Farm, peace did abide. An army of capybaras and alpacas fair, Living in harmony, a love they would share. And so, this tale of strife and peace, In Standalone Farm, will never cease. Forever etched, in nature's grand design, A testament to unity, divine.

For young children, this is a good place to introduce them to farmyard animals. For adults, it is boring after the first 20 minutes once you've walked around the farm. It is not an expensive place to visit, staff are very friendly and there is a café and gift shop. The café isn't cheap but convenient if you are hungry or thirsty. Most families bring their own food and drink and sit in the play areas. All in all, it will be a lovely afternoon out if you have young kids.

  • 4/5 Ben P. 1 year ago on Google
It's great. But it's quite expensive and hasn't really changed much in 30 years apart from an excellent play park being added.

We love Standalone Farm!!! We have an annual pass (great value) and visit almost weekly. Amazing play area, good range of very well kept animals, yummy cafe and INCREDIBLE staff.

Great place to visit with kids and not just, however, it can be great fun for the little ones especially, of course. The whole territory of the farm being kept tidy and organised, therefore it can be a good place to visit any time throughout the year. There's a nice, big playground for kids (under construction/refurbishment as of August 2022). There are different activities at certain times that kids can be involved in: cow milking, animal feeding and different talks. Last but not least, there are different seasonal activities and programs that can be an extra reason for visiting, or even returning to this lovely place. Coffee shop, parking lots, a souvenir/gift shop and toilets are also available on the site, so it can be comfortably visited and even a full day spent here.

Farm was alright, you get to feed a few animals and pet some of them. There are a few rides to keep the little ones entertained, but the real highlight is the playground. Our little daughter had a great time.

  • 5/5 Nicola B. 1 year ago on Google
Very good for young kids as it only takes a few hours to see everything. There's a café and decent size kids play area too. Make sure to take £1 for the carts that go around a set track and 20p pieces for the miniature train track in the play area.

  • 5/5 Liam O. 1 year ago on Google
Great for kids and adults alike. You will have as much fun as you decide. Lots of animals, but bear in mind this isn't a zoo. Great food at the cafe, maybe a little pricey, but for the convenience its great. Chicken tikka toasty was delicious, and came with crisps and salad. Tractor ride was entertaining. Surrounding area is great, and you can use their car park to walk into the town centre, which allows you to make a great day out in Letchworth if you do the farm in the morning/early afternoon. Book in advance, and definitely buy a £1 bag of feed to enhance your experience.

  • 3/5 little M. 1 year ago on Google
It was OK. Not a lot to do really but the little car track is fun and the animals are good to see. If you're expecting to see more animals I'd go to a zoo instead. This place is good if you have an hour or two to spare.

Great local working farm with sheep, pigs, cows, goats, horses and smaller animals and birds. Pretty accessible all round (with pram). Has a cafe and gift shop and regular shows (feeding, etc). It can get super busy on sunny days but most times it's fairly spread out.
