Not much to see. No markings to indicate this is where the Great train robbery took place in 1963. Just after 03:00 on 8 August, the driver, 58-year old Jack Mills from Crewe, stopped the train on the West Coast Main Line at a red signal light at Sears Crossing, Ledburn, between Leighton Buzzard and Cheddington. The signal had been tampered with by the robbers: they had covered the green light and connected a battery to power the red light. The locomotive's second crew member, known as the secondman or "fireman", was 26-year-old David Whitby, also from Crewe. As a signal stop was unexpected at this time and place, Whitby climbed down from the cab to call the signalman from a line-side telephone, only to find the cables had been cut. As he returned to the train he was overpowered by one of the robbers. Meanwhile, gang members entered the engine cabin from both sides, and as Mills grappled with one robber he was struck from behind by another with a cosh and rendered semi-conscious.

If you want to travel to this location take a little bite to eat 😋, you can park up and just sit there and reminisce the great train robbery, I would also suggest watching the film and do Google research before you arrive the day before, I sat in my car for 20 minutes and enjoyed every second and its only a bridge..but yet so famous all round the world

Have driven by the bridge quite a few times not realising it's significance. The great thing is that even Network Rail actually call the it Trainrobbers Bridge. Whilst it's changed quite a bit with fences now added on both sides you can still see that it's where the Robbery happened. Nothing much to do except visit a lovely pub close by. However it's still a massive part of 60's history.

If you are interested in British crime history this bridge has to be worth a visit.

Obviously, this is a place with significant history attached to it. There is nothing here, other than a mention of "Train Robbers Bridge" on a Network Rail sign, to indicate what happened in 1963.

Just a bridge. And some fly tipping nearby to add to the atmosphere.

Amazing... doesn't look like it's changed much (other than electrification) since that fateful night in August 63

It's a pretty solid bridge but lacks the ice cream shop and other utilities that I expect from a good bridge in day and age.

Easy parking near the bridge. Able to walk under bridge but road can be very busy.

It's an extremely average small railway bridge over a C road. Not noteworthy at all....apart from the dastardly deed way back in the 60s
