The Long walk.. It’s a very nice place , quiet, peaceful and good place for walking or jogging. Grass well look after, you can see a pack of deers hiding under the trees The warden are visible making sure the deer are look after. Also enjoy the fresh air. If you are driving for a visit you can park on Windsor great park open air car park. From there you find your way to get in through a small path heading towards the Long walk. If you park in Long walk gate car park just cross the road the next to the house there’s a foot path leading to the Wardens house then you will find yourself in the middle of Windsor castle and king George statue. I think it’s a mile on both ways so you decide which way to go. Me my friends decided to go toward king George statue and the view from up there was amazing! There’s no toilet around that I can see so plan your trip before going here. Also bring water to hydrate yourself. If you visit Windsor castle I recommend to visit the long walk as well. Good luck.

Enjoyable long walk to the castle. Remember to drink, eat and wear something comfy before that 3 mile stretch. Sit down on the grass or benches if you feel tired. No rush

Beautiful place to visit and to walk through history. Plenty of green spaces and monuments to see around the area. If you're lucky you may see deers too.

Exactly what it says - a long walk (with no benches). It is a hard surface path so you don't get muddy and you can walk between the gates of Windsor Castle and a statute of King George III on a horse.

Picturesque and easy (albeit indeed long!) walk that takes you through fields, across leafy trees, and ultimately leading you to Windsor Castle and the charming downtown area - aka “pub central”. I might recommend waterproof boots instead of running shoes as your feet might get soaked if it will have happened to rain the day prior…

A beautiful path that goes from the castle entrance over 4 km to the King George III equestrian monument. There are hundreds of chestnut trees to the left and right of the path. Cycling is not allowed, only walking is possible.

This is such a beautiful place. Myself and my family did a 27 mile charity walk over the weekend raising money for the Lily foundation in memory of my little Nephew Dylan and I was amazed by this place...... the wildlife, the cleanliness, basically the whole place was gorgeous........ I would highly recommend going there but please keep it clean 🙂

The Long Walk is a 2.64 mile path that stretches from the statue of King George III, to the gate of Windsor Castle. One both sides of the path are a double row of 1,652 elm trees, planted during the reign of King Charles II. The smooth path itself was constructed by Queen Anne in 1710 for a comfortable ride in her coach.

Beautiful but long walkway infront of the castle, it’s a nice place to take a stroll around Windsor. Very very long way from the Copper Horse of King George III all the way back to the castle, but plenty of nice shady trees to sit under and have a Picnic and take a break. There’s places to park near the copper horse and so you don’t have to walk all the way down from Windsor to reach it, which can take up to 2.5 hours…

The name is so accurate it hurts. This walk was long. I mean long. That said, very pretty with the leaves changing colours and falling, lots of pretty trees, beware the mud on either side of the path, and saw a group of deer as well. The Copper Statue at the end of the long walk is cool if you were walking just to walk, not sure a statue has ever done much for me otherwise. Not many benches or seats along the way, and no drinking fountains or toilet either. No bicycles, walked beside or ridden, allowed. You've been warned.

My husband, who served in the armed forces, wanted to attend Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeths funeral to pay his respects. He drove to Reading from Glasgow (almost 400 miles) then travelled by train to Windsor and waited until the procession arrived. It was all very well planned with all facilities required for the wait on site. He felt very privileged to pay his respects to our remarkable Queen.

This was a wonderful walk which must have been about two and a half miles each way. We left it quite late so it was already getting dark which meant we got a great view of the moon and the london skyline for the Statue as well as the queue of planes coming in to lane at Heathrow. It was scary walking back in the dark as it is rutting season and I really didn’t fancy my chances trying to escape the many stags which were chasing everything in sight. The sounds they make are not for the weak hearted. Nevertheless it was a good walk and I’m sure it is even better in daylight. It’s nice also as it’s a long straight path and there’s no cycles either. Besides the deer we saw some beautiful dark brown cows, grouse and bats when it turned dark.

It was drizzling, windy, and overcast as can be see in this photo but that didn’t take away from this beautiful walk! I’ll be back on a sunnier day to take it all in again 😋 Yes it’s worth the walk to the King George and his horse statue! You’ll not feel it as the park is gorgeous! The deers were a treat! I didn’t expect to see so many of them 🤷🏿‍♀️

It reslly was a long walk, i took about 40 minutes to go to the statue and 50 minutes to come back to the castle cause i have a knee problem and need to go as slow as i can. But worth it for me, when you get on the final you can see a lot of things because you are on higher ground, so you can see a lot of things in the horizont. The day i was there it was sunny with just somr clouds, so i could see London Center! I recognize the shard and london eye!

Always a lovely scenic walk that's close to Windsor Town Centre. This is my fourth time visiting The Long Walk and this time, we finally made it from the Castle to the Horse Statue, and back (we tend to get hungry half way). Highly recommend if you're looking for a lovely long stroll for a change of scenery. It's especially nice during the summer as there's a pub nearby the Castle for you to relax and grab a drink or a few.

Majestic to visit, gracious in scale, and free. If you’re in the area it’s worth checking out. I’d encourage you to walk the length starting at the castle, walking both directions to firstly the monument and then back towards the castle. It’s a gentle and pleasant walk on a fine day weather wise. Might skip it on a wet day.

Motorcycle ride of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II. Ride started on the long walk, which was fitting and beautiful. RIP Ma'am

Amazing atmosphere at the free, public concert on the Long Walk today. Incredible local talent on stage and the ever-quaffable Windsor and Eton Brewery serving their ales and cider brewed in the town centre. What a great place to live!

After flying over Windsor Park over the years, I decided to pay a visit. The walk from The Castle to the Statue of George III is well worth it. On the return journey, I made a detour to see the deer.

Lovely 1.5 mile walk towards the southern park of Windsor castle. Lots of people and beautiful terrain around. Car parking is 10 mins walk away (Victoria road car park) and is always buzzing. This is where the funeral procession was brought from for Queen Elizabeth so it’s lovely to be here to be the part of history. Some local pubs around too if you’d like to hang out.

Fantastic location to have fun walking, jogging, and dog walking. No facilities on the Long Walk itself, but many options up at the Cambridge Gate (Castle) end itself. Dogs always enjoy themselves on the Long Walk!

What a great way to start a day, this long walk is just so lovely ! Only a few minutes from the Windsor Castle, free entrance and dog friendly. We just loved it.

What an amazing walk. Did the entire length. Considering our fitness it was not easy. But we triumphed. Totally amazing. Saw deers too.

Iconic and popular walk in Windsor that follows a wide and perfectly straight tree lined avenue between George IV gate at Windsor castle to the Copper Horse atop Snow hill 2.64 miles away. The top of snow hill affords excellent views back down toward Windsor castle and the wider area. The walk is further than it looks so allow 90minutes to 2 hours for the round trip.

When you only see these iconic British landmarks on TV, and then you are face-to-face with it, the emotions are overwhelming. This is the path that the alte Queen was walked before beyong buried in St George's Chapel. It's a straight line road with a beautiful lawn on both sides of it. I absolutely enjoyed it!

Perfect place for a nice walk. The air is fresh, the views are nice. Dog friendly as well. Plenty of cafes nearby too.

Enjoyable walk from Windsor Castle to the Copper Horse Statue (King George III & His Horse Statue). It's about 5 miles round trip. You may even see deer. It's well worth trip to look around Windsor itself and if you're energetic walk along the River Thames or even look around the castle. You could easily catch the train or drive, but parking in the centre is expensive.

The walkway is 3 kilometers long, and the people of the area run along it, but for us as tourists, a quarter of an hour is enough for photography
