Lovely place. There is a NEW part opened up now from may 2019, the meadows with a nice long walk along the river with stunning views. Very well kept, the river is beautiful. The thing i noticed about this is the further on your walk around this place the better it becomes. Nice seating area for a picnic and big grass area to enjoy. Hidden places as you walk through, the river winds of into the bushes. The main feature of Batford springs is the stepping stones and enjoying the walk across them, i enjoyed this myself, The water was high and almost touched the top of the stones. The water sounded so lovely gushing down stream, it moves fast. A great place to visit for anyone of any age. I highly recommend this place.

Batford Springs is one of the little local gems of Hertfordshire. It's beautiful whatever season you go in. There are plenty of mushrooms around if you're spotting like I was. I saw the biggest jelly ear fungi that I've ever seen in my life here!!! It's a beautiful place to go spend the day in the summer or have a walk when it's cold. Water is safe to have a paddle when it's warm!

WOW. This place is just beautiful. The springs gushing forth and the greenery is just so relaxing and mesmerising. We had a lovely time here, admiring the views and even stepping in the waters. One side it’s cold and the other side it was warm! Ideal for adults and older kids, we saw lots of birds and along the back there was a field with horses. Lovely and clean and ideal for a family visit, there is a play area for kids too and lots of field for picnics.

Amazing peaceful place. Have to wear proper shoes because the place gets muddy when it rains. Good place for walking and playing for children.

very nice place to go on a walk whilst the kids can be dropped of in the playground. If your kids are too young, the walk is also very exciting as there are stepping stones, rivers, fairy hunts and many more. It also has beautiful views are fascinating nature to look at

peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty. The reserve is home to a series of interconnected springs, which create a network of streams and small ponds... It's important to note that Batford Springs is a relatively small reserve, so it may not offer extensive recreational facilities or amenities. However, its size contributes to its intimate and peaceful ambiance, making it a charming destination for a brief nature getaway.

A small natural place but nice and beautiful particularly the spring and stream. There is a small play area for kids. Good enough to burn 1 to 2 hours of leisure time.

This is a little gem. The boardwalks take you through some beautiful wetland. There are different streams and river crossings, including some stepping stones. It's a bit small to warrant a special trip, but if you're there it's definitely a space to enjoy.

Great place. Children loved playing in the playground, splashing in the river.

Batford Springs is always a favourite visit during the holidays. There are areas where you can wade through the water. A nice little park. There is plenty of green space for having a picnic. A toilet block is definitely needed, and although the park is accessible the walk around the springs isn't that disabled friendly in places.

lovely walk well maintained area. few notices that explain types of birds you will find around that area. lovely playground for kids and plenty to space for picnics. few pubs in walking distance too.

It's a really beautiful place. I drive past on most occasions and have never really thought about it until I decided that today I would take my kids for a little walk. We went when the mud well was wet so wellies at the ready. There is a little waterfall and stepping stones you can walk through a bit of the river as well and there is a fantastic park for the kids. The only downside for me is that as I have really bad IBS is somewhere for us to use the loo 🚻 but apart from that it's relaxing and joyful for the family

This is a small confined area. Not a lot of adventure and wild areas so make the best of it. They have created a nice spot but I'd only go if I lived local. It's nice but can be walked in a really short time < 30mins.

First time I've been with my neighbor, dropped in the car by her son and accompanied with her dog...amazing visit. The sun was out, green scenery, went through the lake in the water, went on a journey throughout. Playground to play in with kids...the list goes on! If you haven't been, please go. If you have a dog, take them with you as others will be there to but a bigger smile on your face ☺️

What a gem. A nice place to picnic or walk the dog. A lovely setting. Parking can be an issue but apart from that a great place to walk.

Nice new wooden walkway since I last went. Nice paths to walk by the stream with play equipment for children, and some open grassed areas to throw a ball for dogs.

Lovely early spring walk .. remembering how it was in the 70s when I was a child playing here. Looks like a really positive set of improvements

Nice little autumn walk along the river and sit by the weir. Looks like there's also a decent children's park too.
