Booked a long trip away in 2019 with freedom and lost it due to the pandemic in 2020. I wanted a refund but they found every loop hole possible to not give a refund back. Went on the holiday this year and they were terrible to deal with. Lied about several expenses I would deal with on the return of my holiday. Will not be using these clowns again

Appalling customer service & Managing Director I booked a 6 week trip of a lifetime to Australia in October 2019 to travel between April and mid-May 2020 including two train journeys on the Indian Pacific and the Ghan. This was not an inexpensive trip. The global pandemic aside, which no one can be blamed for, my experience of obtaining a full refund from Freedom Destinations was unacceptable. This is a company that prides itself on customer service but in reality pays it lip service and this is evidenced from the behaviour of its MD, David Wallis. Yesterday, I eventually received my refund after 4.5 months of countless e-mails and telephone calls. The attitude of the MD in particular, who informed me that he had many other clients with more pressing needs than me, sums up why I will never use this company again. His own actions and his directions to staff to obfuscate, misinform and delay refunding cancelled travel plans to clients says more about his own self interests than providing customer service. He boasts about offering security and peace of mind, in reality this is all hot air and meaningless platitudes. I am fortunate, I suppose, in that my hard earned money is now back in my bank account as I am sure there are many more clients who are still waiting for a refund. But what am I left with? Well, nothing really - no trip, 4.5 months of anguish of not knowing if I will ever get back my £11,500 and untold hours of writing, calling and complaining to all the relevant travel trade bodies. This review for me is the line in the sand, the closure to an episode that hopefully others will not have to endure. I cannot recommend a company that breaks the law on refunds, misinforms and is led by a man that clearly is incapable of providing customer service. Hopefully I will get to do this Australian trip in the future, just don't know when. I will however, find a company to help me with my arrangements that not only can deliver the goods, be it the agreed trip or a refund in the event that another global pandemic hits. It just won't be with David Wallis or Freedom Destinations. I have and will continue to let everyone I know to avoid this company and its abject lack of providing customer service in adversity.

I booked a road trip to America with Freedom Destinations. Everything went as planned. They listened to what I wanted and got me a good deal. I would recommend!

Unfortunately my holiday got cancelled due to Covid, but I was very happy with the way Freedom Destinations dealt with rearranging my trip. This is my third time booking with Freedom and I would happily recommend them to anyone!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other negative reviews. Had a fantastic holiday and staff in resort and tours were 1st class and professional. Unfortunately the lack of communication from Freedom Destinations and their Asia suppliers was poor and caused great distress on immediate arrival and at departure transfer. Due to the inappropriate and inaccurate communication on departure my young daughter and I missed our flight and were left with the expense of additional 2 nights accommodation and just under 3k for new flights home. It unfortunately continued when I returned home with conflicting and incorrect information from Freedom Destinations. This review is far from unfair. The hotel confirmed via CCTV there was no attempt made from the driver to locate us in the hotel lobby which is where we were told to wait. Freedom Destination have not and could not provide confirmation that the driver made any attempt to locate us. Ridiculous to even suggest there was any attempt. In reality the driver couldn't be bothered to park in the car park and had to move on for the drop off waiting behind it. Disgusting behaviour and response by Freedom Destination.

Holiday of a lifetime. Safari and a few days beach resort. Fantastic from start to finish. The company were brilliant. Great communication, very competitive pricing, listened to us and tailored our holiday to our requirements. The whole holiday went smoothly. The Safari company they used were excellent with very good knowledge. I can’t say anything negative about the company. Will definitely use again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Admittedly, we booked all of this before covid... However, I would have expected a way better service, considering they have had our money for 2 years now. We are currently on our ''trip of a lifetime'' and should be having a wonderful time. Not only did we have to chase them for all of our information, tickets etc in the week before we left, but we found out with less than 14 days to go that a major part of our trip had been cancelled and they had made no effort to get either an explanation or a compromise. Only after we argued that this was not good enough did they 'magically' find a solution. We still had to take a hit on losing a day in Vancouver and so one of the experiences we were looking forward to. We have been given very little information about what the towns are like that they have placed us in and have found that many things in Jasper are simply too far away to reach without a car ~ there is no public transport and all the guided tours were fully booked because we found out the details far too late. It gets worse... Whilst on holiday, we have found out that yet another one of our tours had been incorrectly booked and that there was never any chance of it being booked because that tour doesn't even run in August!? Despite getting in contact with Freedom, they have today told us that they are ''unable to contact the tour company'' ...despite the same company being very responsive to us via email. Over the last 2 days, we have found ourselves having to do Freedom's job for them, contacting the tour company and trying to arrange for spaces on their other tour, which *does* run during August... I don't quite understand why they expect us to do their job for them when this is exactly what we have paid them for... Every time we have to call one of the tour guides here or use our data to email Freedom, we have to pay on our roaming charges... Freedom have asked us to do this several times over the past 5 days. Yet more money we are paying for something we thought we had already sorted... We still have 5 days of our holiday to go and am dreading what else they can have messed up for us... I'll update this post as required! We are currently in the process of emailing Freedom to get them to pay for the 2nd tour that *we* have had to organise....... They have sub contracted the whole tour to a different travel agent... If we had known that this is what they'd do, we would have gone straight to Rail Bookers ourselves. Don't touch this company ~ Freedom~ with a barge pole. Unless they give us some serious compensation for the shambles they have given us, I'll be keeping this post up and telling everyone I can about the shoddy service we have experienced.

My holiday to Australia was cancelled due to the coronavirus sadly, but Freedom Destinations did a superb job of changing all the flights, hotels and tours for us to travel next Easter at no extra cost. They dealt with it so professionally and quickly. We will also be looking to book with them for a trip to New Zealand the year after. I highly recommend this company!

We’ve just returned from our trip to Bali which I booked through Freedom Destinations. We had an amaaaaayzing time!! We (husband, myself and 15 yr old son) stayed in Ubud x 5 nights, island of Gili Meno x 4 nights and Amed x 5 nights with transfers provided between each by FD. We were really impressed with the whole organisation, the transfers were all there ready and waiting for us, the vehicles were so clean, comfortable and cool with A/C (definitely needed!), the staff who escorted us were friendly and helpful etc. The accommodations were fabulous, and all staff at these were faultless! The communication was very good, our itinerary worked perfectly!! Everything was on time, flights, car transfers, boat transfers etc.. so impressive! We would definitely use Freedom Destinations again, and would recommend to friends/family.. Thanks especially to Daniella, who helped me so much putting this holiday together all those months ago and answering all my queries and helping with recommendations etc. with so much patience! What a great company we have now booked 3 trips with Freedom Destinations Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, 2nd Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Japan 3rd Canada west to east. The staff were fantastic from the beginning. I had so many question about planning a holiday to Canada and they answered every question. The whole holiday went to plan and everything freedom Destination did was great.

From the initial phone call to enquire about the holiday until the very end, the best service we’ve received so far! We had multi site holiday with several flights, car rental, safari… everything happened as was supposed to, everything was on time, instructions were clear. We gave Freedom Desinations a very very short brief of what we wanted to do for our holiday/safari and they exceeded any and every expectation we could have had. From start to finish their expertise, knowledge and customer service was exceptional. We cannot recommend them highly enough and we will definitely be booking our next holiday to Africa through them. The hotel and private safari lodge we stayed in were both incredible and we wish we had been able to stay longer. What a fantastic holiday!! Freedom Destinations booked everything including flights, hotels, car and excursions, the whole process from beginning to end was absolutely seamless. Hotels were great, excursions and recommendations were fantastic as well as the suggested time in each city/village was just enough to see and do everything we wanted to. Cannot recommend Freedom Destinations high enough and this was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.

Amazing trip, designed perfectly to suit. Great hotels chosen. We felt safe and secure at all times. Anytime we checked anything like the response was immediate. Transfers were very well organised. We had a wots app available to ask anything.

I cannot say enough just how happy we all were with our 3wk holiday to Thailand. From the initial idea and speaking to Daniella to the ease of paying and quick communication with any queries I had. Everything went so well, even when my son left his bag with phone and money inside at Bangkok airport the readiness and speed at which it was returned was impressive and certainly not lost on us, with constant communication via WhatsApp to let me know where his bag was at any given moment, and also with texts 24hrs earlier to let us know about any transfers The organisation and communication from Freedom Destinations and the representatives from Destination Asia was very impressive, its certainly up there with one of our best holidays and we will almost certainly be booking through them again Many thanks Russell thomas and family

Just back from an amazing experience in Kenya... a trip I've planned to do for over 14 years! And we were not disappointed... Maritha at Freedom Destinations was excellent at assisting me in choosing the best package for us at a competitive price ... it was fantastic from start to finish ( I asked a lot of questions) will be looking to book our next adventure with them Thank you

The help on booking was excellent, Maritha listened to our ideal and provided the perfect solution. All advice was detailed and supportive. In the end our concerns of health, mosquitoes and dust were unfounded. The hotel staff in Nairobi were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and staff most welcoming. Drivers providing tours very informative and personable. Every aspect of the tour was perfectly planned, we always felt at ease. A couple of the safari drivers were tired but the majority a pleasure to spend time with, usually my partner and I sole passengers. Food and soups excellent for vegetarians. Lodges , pools and panoramas stunning, particularly Tsavo East, but that’s splitting hairs. Karen Blixen Museum so atmospheric. Waitor service immaculate always, although disappointing Papillon Reef Rep and Restaurant Manager disinterested in providing decaff coffee when other hotels did. Animation team at Papillon were stunning , as was the beach. Kenya is beautiful in its people, flora, fauna and countryside and Freedom Destinations know their stuff, thank you

The staff here have been fab. We have travelled to Canada on a fly drive and mostly to Singapore and Borneo with them. They have stiffed to find us accomodation in places we wanted, especially off the beaten track in Borneo! We had booked and paid for our Singapore hols before COVID came. The staff had kept us informed throughout our very long wait to get on this trip. The accomodation for all our trips was great. Any changes we made were done in a timely manner. I can't thank the staff enough. Now to plan our next getaway .....

I had a trip to South Africa in April 2023, something I had wanted to do for a long time. I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go but wanted to work with a tour operator to create the bespoke package. I approached Freedom Destinations with my outline plan. Working with one of their team my ideal holiday was built. Having now returned from my holiday everything planned worked out perfectly. The location for safari, hotel in Cape Town, all transfers and trips. I had an amazing time, thank Freedom Destinations for their expertise in building and planning my holiday. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

We have recently returned from our trip ‘down under’ which involved visiting cities of Australia, campervanning around New Zealand and cruising around the islands of Fiji. The itinerary included 9 flights, accommodation, some transfers and activities / tours - such as snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, climbing Sydney Harbour Bridge and many more! Despite a very busy itinerary, everything went so smoothly. I came across Freedom Destinations online when researching tailored holidays. From the minute I signed up for a brochure, they were so helpful and genuinely really interested in providing the experience I wanted. Our consultant, Mags, was extremely helpful and made the whole process so easy. She listened to my ideas and concerns and put together an itinerary which was absolutely perfect! I had a few queries when we were on holiday and despite the time difference, they always replied to my emails as soon as possible which was reassuring. I can’t thank them enough for making my dream come true! I look forward to using Freedom Destinations again in the future.

I was so very relieved that I booked my entire 2020 Australia trip via Freedom travel as I was able to get my full trip refunded due to Covid. The staff were excellent, very understanding and kept me updated throughout the process.
