We have today returned home a day early from Cleethorpes resort. It was a beautiful caravan, spotlessly clean and contained a lovely goodiebag for my dog and a kitchen container with dish cloth, sponge, rubbish bag etc. We decided to come home early because the caravan was so cold and damp. The heating was off when we arrived so we immediately turned on all room heaters hoping to get warm, (didn't happen after 3 days.) We were unable to have a decent shower because the hot water was only tepid, and when we got into bed on the first night the bed was really damp. I complained on leaving and was told very rudely that we should have told them earlier. We thought it would warm up so didn't complain so won't be returning.

St ives bay. 1/ Not allowed to choose your own caravan anymore. 2/ No couples out of season discount given. 3/ Amenities that you have paid for are closed and rented out to private functioning. 4/ dog's now allowed on site no poo bins provided and some owners couldn't be bothered to clean up after their pets this also includes the beach area's. (Now have to look where you and your children are playing and walking) 5/ I booked 2 caravans pet free with sea view 2022 got dune views (No discount, apologies or alternative accommodation offered. ) Mentioned all the above information to reception when checking out they couldn't really be bothered not even offered a discount or refund for the difference in price. All in all Poor customer service 😢 😞

We paid for a luxury caravan and there was not one thing luxury about it! Firstly, we walked in to find the kitchen side not cleaned, hair in the fridge and a used cup on the table outside. Then our travel cot turned up covered in dirt and with its own spider. It only got worse from there as we found a dirty pair of pants down the side of the sofa and a crack in the main bedroom door! Not cleaned properly at all. The hot tub only had one head cushion, don’t waste your money! Management came to see us and they did re clean it but it had already spoiled my first family holiday. No offer to move us and no compensation, I was over the holiday before it had begun.

Absolutely no common sense! Tried to speak to ‘Sean’ on the chat function to add a travel cot to my booking for my 1 year old daughter. But they wouldn’t do this without a telephone call because the booking is in my husband’s name. Considering we have the same last name and I have given all booking details needed to clarify my booking and my request was so minimal and simple you would think a little common sense might prevail. But no, they stuck to the option of having to call. Bad customer service and it’s left a bad taste in my mouth before my holiday has even begun!

If you have an issue during your holiday, you’re going to be waiting an uncomfortable amount of time for a response. After-holiday Customer service is appalling. If you want a holiday safe in the knowledge you’ll have any issues dealt with effectively, go elsewhere.

Would never use again and not recommend to anyone. Paid in full for holiday with cancellation policy. Unfortunately had to cancel and no refund has been given. Back and forth on the phone repeatedly. They have taken my money and not honoured the policy they sold me.

Last minute. Booking wasn't confirmed and had to sleep in a pull out. Should have been 3 bed pet ftiendly. 2 bed caravan. No outdoor seating or cleaning materials. Took 2x80 yr old ladies. No entailment or nothing for the dog. Really dissatisfied.

Had a lovely weeks holiday at st Ives bay Cornwall. Lovely caravan in a perfect plot. However went to reception to re book the same plot and caravan for next year (as before it was taken over you have always been able to re book) only to be told I can't do that anymore. You have to pay your money and take a lottery as to which caravan/plot you get. I understand prices go up that's business but not allowing people to book the same plot/caravan for next year I don't understand. So walked away not booking for next year. Such a shame this has changed. r.

Amazing bang spanking new caravan the best we’ve ever stayed in, so much so I couldn’t believe it was a static. We were in a dog friendly and our other guests in a dog free and theirs was even nicer! The dogs even got their own welcome pack which was a lovely touch. We were on the newer side of the park across the road but still only a short walk from the main hub. Standard park facilities and entertainment with the added outdoor cinema and entertainment area and a short walk to a great beach (particularly if you catch the tide out!). Friendly, helpful staff and security. Would definitely visit again.

Profits before people. Away Resorts flagged my review on Trust Pilot for containing illegal or harmful content. It was just the truth! They obviously didn’t want anyone to read it. Because of chronic illness I couldn’t afford to pay site fees on time, so they removed my caravan. I paid a lot for it just 3 years ago, now I have lost so much money and my holiday home. I only needed a little bit of time to pay site fees. Now my caravan has been dumped by the main entrance with all my belongings in and I’m too sick to get there to empty it. Ruthless! I told them I was too sick to empty it numerous times as well but they went ahead and now keep asking when I’m collecting my belongings. They just wanted me gone so they could sell another caravan to go on my pitch. I have emailed and called but no one cares. Be very careful with this company.

Just spent a fantastic week with my husband and 2 dogs at St Helens resort on the Isle of Wight. The caravan was lovely, spacious and new, well appointed and clean. The doggy welcome bag and our essentials pack were a lovely thoughtful surprise. The only negative was that I had an issue with hot tub, which meant I couldn't use it, but this has swiftly been addressed. Just a warning - think twice about having a hot tub if your mobility is reduced. Some hot tubs have been installed the wrong way round, therefore have no shallow step in, instead a full depth drop. Our weather was fantastic, the local pub and shop served us beautifully and we spent the week visiting various beaches and sights around the island. The local beach at St Helens Duver was a gorgeous place to spend the early evenings, watching the boats sail by. The site itself was quiet, clean and very relaxing. We will definitely be back soon, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Away Resorts again in future.

I agree with all the reviews regarding customer service, very rude !! During our stay at Mill Rythe a drone appeared just feet away from where we were staying. Also filming by a TV crew was taking place. When I contacted reception I was told it was part of my terms and conditions to agree to a drone and filming. This is totally inaccurate. Terms and conditions at Away Resorts quick clearly states drones are not permitted. Filming only by prior agreement. We left on the Sunday, filming still active so ruined our holiday. Also as an addendum, shouldn't all mattresses have mattress covers on them ??? Ugh !!!!

First day at st ives bay and what a mess. Asked for an upgrade and was told none were available, only for my brother in law to walk in ten minutes later and get one. Then I go back to complain and they tell me he shouldn’t have been given the upgrade and at this point he has paid over £170 and unloaded his car into the new caravan. A side note the upgrade he was given is a superior caravan and there isn’t anything superior about it. Nice sea view but the caravan itself is quite run down. Bad start to the holiday

After arriving at away resorts pearl at Cleethorpes all seems okay. I have a neurological disorder so I didn't notice at the time that are caravan looked suspiciously like a comfort and not a superior caravan as per my booking. We arrived including children aged 14,13 and 11. We had a good evening in the sports bar. Quite entertaining even if it closed a little early with a packed clientele. A day after that we woke to rain coming into the caravan and wet bedding. I went to ask to be move at reception. No apology at all! I was told that they would get maintenance to go and look at it.ninsaidi said that wasn't acceptable as it was now all damp and wanted moving. After saying they may not have anywhere, they found one and said we could move when it had been cleaned but could be 4pm. They did call around lunchtime. I had explained we didn't have a car and I had a neurological disorder and the rest of the family were out as I stayed in the caravan. No apology still and no offer of help to move to the other side of the park. The original caravan, whilst clean, reeked of dog. Massive block of ice in the fridge. When I got to the replacement caravan, it was then I realised I had been given a comfort previously and not a superior. This was far better equipped. However this place reeked, it looked and smelled like several people had toilet accidents on the sofa, very dusty cobwebs hung from the ceiling corners and I had to wipe the bathroom cabinet myself as there were toothpaste marks inside. I asked reception what category were both caravans and I was told both were superior. Anyway we were in another caravan and wanted to get on with our holiday. Unfortunately, we had the same problem, rain coming through, the seams in the ceiling were leaking and other places on the wall. That morning the en suite toilet decided it wasn't going to flush. So now we had had enough. We called a taxi, packed up and handed the keys into reception. Away resorts either fob you off with whatever caravan they have no matter what you book or their website is totally misleading. I think trades description issues are present. After getting home I had a voice mail asking for feedback, but yet again, no apology or offer of a refund

Accommodation was good and we managed to get it at a discounted price. The holiday park was also in a great location with a massive beach just a few minutes walk (St. Ives Bay)

We stay at St Helens Holiday resort. The staff are brilliant, nothing is to much trouble. The accommodation is always lovely and clean and so is the park. Can't wait to see you again soon. 🍹🏖️☀️

Stayed at away resort Filey at 24 Silversands House as a family of 5 & 2 dogs. The house was dirty, cooker didn't work properly kept turning off, really frustrating when cooking an Xmas day dinner. There was no welcome pack or instructions a feeble christmas tree with lights that didn't work. Seen other reviews about dirty properties, won't stay again!

I spoke with Cody over the phone to make an amendment to our holiday. Cody was great and very easily understood my complicated request, she found a better deal than what I had so now I feel over moon. This is my first time booking with away resorts and they have been brilliant.

Avoid In some European nations there is compulsory licensing of tourism business's and my experiences with this company are a major argument for introducing it to the UK. We booked at Rockley for the Whit Bank Holiday week 10 months in advance. An extra Bank Holiday was then added to that week for The Jubilee. A few weeks before we were due to go our booking was cancelled as the van needed 'maintenance' We had booked via Hoseasons who were not amused and found us somewhere in Cornwall and charged the difference to Away Resorts. In the meanwhile the van we had booked was shown as available at a much higher price. Well, funnily enough they didnt manage to relet it. We booked at Whitecliff for the October half term, however when we arrived our caravan stank of drains. The team found us another one, however it was dirty, run down and the Gas Certificate had expired in March. If it hadnt been for the fact that it was late we would have gone home then but ended up staying the night and got the ferry the following day. The team were good enough to give us a full refund but we are waiting for out ferry fare, travel costs and loss of holiday compensation

Stopped at St Ives Bay Holiday Park and the static caravan was amazing, the staff were helpful & friendly and the park is perfectly situated next to the beach. Lovely touches such as welcome packs for the dogs and toiletries/sundries etc. Would definitely book again.

We stayed at the Appletree Holiday Park. It was far from the relaxing family break we had hoped for and sadly, given I spent so much time at reception raising issues, I do not feel as if I had a holiday at all. We arrived to find that both the park and our own lodge were not fully completed. That the park itself was not fully constructed was not initially an issue, however on Monday morning the company constructing the park homes arrived and worked for the next two days outside our lodge which impacted not only upon our peace but also upon our privacy. Hearing the TV was hard due to noise and I did not particularly want to use the hot tub or sit on the decking to read with the workmen metres away! Our lodge was also not fully completed. There was no stair rail up to the decking, no gate and no 'skirting' around the bottom of the lodge. My 91-year-old Dad was with us and he very much needs a handrail for him to hold when going up stairs due to poor mobility. I had my 9-month-old puppy with me who very much needed the gate to be in situ so he could walk freely from the lodge onto the decking without my needing to worry that he may scamper off into the woods. Alas without a gate we could not leave the patio door open, which given the very high temperatures of last week left us sitting in a room like an oven. We had to buy fans to try and cool the lodge down and then also find a means to barricade the rear of the decking to that which ran down the side of the lodge to the steps. When I went to reception to express my concerns, I was told that this was not Appletree's 'fault' but was down to the contractor building the lodges. I asked why a lodge was being rented out when it was not fully completed and to my mind it lacking a stair rail and gate do present health and safety issues. I was advised that the manager would be at work shortly and asked if I would return at 9:30am. I arrived at 09:37 to find that the manager was not coming in and could I come back at 1:30pm. As my family and I were going out I asked that the manager call me instead. That afternoon I was called by someone who told me emphatically that the specification of our particular lodge was that it did not come with a stair rail or gate. I was also told me that the lodge had been fully ‘signed off’ so was completed from a build perspective. I asked how could the lodge be signed off as finished given that it did not have the skirting boards around its base, and that the stair rail and gate which all the other fully built lodges at Appletree had. They did ask if we would want to move to the lodge next door, I said I would ask my 91-year-old father if, given it would mean our packing up and moving, he wanted to. Before I had called back, we had a call from another staff member to say that she would request the contractor to come and put the stair rail and gate on for us as an 'urgent call out'. This was clearly not a 'call out' specifically for our lodge as the next day the contractors were outside our lodge continuing to construct other lodges, to include the one immediately next to ours. I was never advised at any point by Away Resorts or Appletree that our lodge, and those immediately around us, would be subject to ongoing building work. I emailed Away Resorts whose response was to offer me 10% off a 2023 break. If there is a way to upload photos to a Google review I shall add some to allow you to decide for yourselves if workmen outside your lodge would be acceptable or not.

Away Resort's after sales care is lacking somewhat. We complained about the substandard maintenance level of our caravan and the park itself, which we felt devalued the whole holiday for us. Away Resorts messed us around at first by sending us down the wrong route to file a complaint, which aggravated us even more! But finally after contacting the correct department and arguing our case, we were only offered 20% off of another holiday with them! After our experience we would not risk another holiday with them seeing as there is obviously very little concern on their part regarding the various parks that operate more under their own esteem, leaving the customer blowing in the wind as far as knowing who is responsible for delivering the standards that they claim to! I am not saying that everything was bad, we felt that if were not for the issues we came across, it would have been an enjoyable holiday, but beware the after sales care if things don't match up!! Below is a more detailed account of what was wrong with our holiday if you would like an example of what could be instore? Within the first two days we arrived at Whitecliff Bay, we notified the manager and the maintenance team of: 1. Ants inside the cabin 2. The lock on our 3 year old daughter's bedroom window being loose and compromising her safety 3. The TV/DVD player not working (at all) The ant problem had been remedied promptly, which we were fine with but we also noted that the floor both inside and on the balcony were very dirty making our feet all black. So we mopped inside and out on the second day. We also at this time noted that the crockery was not clean, so we had to wash everything before using it. By the 3rd day after we had repeatedly seen and queried the maintenance staff (on probably 4 occasions) about the window lock and TV. We were still no further along. We then noticed that the microwave did not work (at all). This was presently replaced, so we were thankful but getting a little unenthused! We also enquired about the lock and TV again, with no satisfaction. Then on the 4th day we realised that the toaster did not work (at all). I then decided to visit the manager again, and relay our dissatisfaction thus far and outlined all that had happened. She was not particularly accommodating, saying that we have left it a bit late now for them to do anything about it, as she had no knowledge of most of it! We presumed that after the initial contact and all the subsequent contact with the maintenance staff, she was being kept in the loop. She also said that they rely on the customers to notify them of issues with the accommodation and so could not have done anything until we had complained. This is nonsense, I myself work in maintenance for an events organisation that provides accommodation, and we continuously check everything before guests arrive in order to avoid these issues. I would also suggest that this had not been done for some time regarding our caravan. There is also of course the issue with the outdoor pool that was out of commission and a real eyesore during our say. Now we expect the odd teething problem, but all of these amounted together to a holiday worth considerably less than what we paid for it, and drastically reduced our enjoyment of the whole event!

We rented the 'Pendeen' cottage in St Ives Bay and it was great for a weekend break with a large family including two elderly that found the facilities and access perfect. The cottage was spotless and recently refurbished. Access to a beautiful beach and a 10-15 min drive to St Ives.

We have spent a week at The Bay, Filey Great location within easy reach of many local attractions. The apartment we had was very clean. There were unfortunately some broken items that needed replacement, this was done promptly. The dishwasher wasn't cleaning properly and we were missing some essential items from the kitchen. Again, these items were promptly replaced. Simple things make a difference Folks!

I gave this a 1 star because me and my family have been in a caravan for 3 whole days and we have not done anything!! The services are also horrible we went to the swimming pool and the reception had told us that we should tell the lifeguard if we could go to the other side as we had asked reception and they just ignored us and told us to leave. I would have personally gave this 0 stars if it was possible!! The only thing we enjoyed was the caravan it was defiantly mind blowing how ‘modern’ it was. Due to this I do not recommend this I would have rather gone to Butlins or Golden sand in my opinion.

Appalling facilities for camping terrible unkempt pitches an extortionate amount of money - seriously cheaper to go abroad for 2 weeks with half board. Was expecting to have use of a Stanley home at £1500 to rent a bit of grass. Never ever go again much nicer sites with better facilities up and down the country for a tenth of the price.

Stayed at Barmouth Bay Resort for 10 days in a top of the range accommodation, indulgent! The price was quite high, obviously taking advantage of the Covid situation. Had all the mod cons Living Area spacious Bedrooms slightly tight but probably part of the attraction for the kids. The whole area is beautiful and worth discovering. The only niggle was the FREE WIFI is useless and you had to pay for faster speed, so if you want to do some online work and who wouldn't these days!, be prepared and arrange for alternative solutions in the house.
