A big pub with many tables. Pleasant atmosphere with nice and friendly staff. Perfect sound level, not too high music, don't need to shout. Classical pub decoration. The beer is fantastic. A lot of snaps to try. The menu was very descriptive. The food tasted delicious and the portion was big. Only bad thing is the toilet was quite small and narrow, felt crowded when there was three people in there.

We ate here as a group dinner for business and to celebrate a birthday. The food was good, but not amazing. They do have a great selection of beer, but they do not have cocktails, which was a huge surprise and super disappointing. The place is large and can accommodate large parties. The staff was friendly for the most part, but the gents that worked in the back bar of the restaurant were extremely pushy and rude for no reason. We ordered several appetizers, of which I highly recommend the croquettes *absolutely fantastic, but the meat and cheese board was only so-so. For dinner, many people ordered the plate of meats/sausages and loved it. I personally had the steak and was underwhelmed by its toughness. I also recommend the green cider for anyone who doesn't drink beer, as it was unlike others I have had in a good way. Overall, not a bad little spot, great for gathering with friends, wonderful if you are looking for good beer and great stouts. However, if you are looking for an extremely good, top notch meal, this wouldn't be the first place on my list in Stockholm.

Lovely place for a beer (great non-alcs). Try the ‘small piece of chocolate’. Delightful.

We were sadly disappointed. The food tastes nothing like german food and the noise was too much to enjoy the atmosphere. Also we expected to drink franziskaner beer but there was not on the meny.I understand that someone might find the atmosphere nice but if you have ever been in Germany you will propably be dissapointed.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. We were quickly seated. The food was very nice and felt high quality - also good value! They have a big selection of beers, so also a good place to try out things. Service was a bit slow, but nothing terrible.

Nice German style schnitzel house with classic dishes. Beer on tap is excellent. Friendly service and great location for stopping in for a break while exploring Gamla Stan in Stockholm.

Great beer selection, excellent food, and friendly bar tenders and waiters! In several trips to Stockholm, this remains my favorite dinner spot in Old Town. Highly recommended!

There's no other place like it in Stockholm. Heart, soul and delicious beers. Great atmosphere with a noise level that allows for conversation. Brings you back to a time when beauty and grace was a thing, and being an unbearably slick smooth talker wasn't a requirement for waiting tables.

Always a great place to have a some nice beers and great food. Friendly staff with good knowledge of what they serve. They have their primary dining area when you enter the place, but if you walk by the bar and kitchen you will even more space in the "Bakfickan". Their menu have some really classic Swedish dishes like S.O.S and Gubbröra but also with some German element like Flammkuchen. The supply of beers are also influenced by the Swedish / German origin. Worth a visit no matter if you are citizen of Stockholm, Sweden or any else on earth. And remember to listen for the bell ringing, because when it does you may order from the beer keg of the evening.

Great service, good food. Excellent place for four guys to have our quarterly gathering! Had pepper steak all of us and were all satisfied. Got the meat as requested and the croquettes that came with it were amazing! We had several drinks and ended up at around 800 each I think, but felt that we absolutely got what we paid for, so the value was excellent.

I think i just picked a not so nice dish. But it could have been better if I had a better choice of dish. German food is all about sausage and pork. I took the kåldolmar and i have had better once. But it the mushroom gravy and all was made it tasty. Partner had a very good sausage dish. Enjoyed it very much

First, the staff was great! Friendly, on the spot, attentive but not overly, takes the time to explain the menu along with their own thoughts on the flavors, etc. Next, the beer selection is great and the bartender will give you a great rundown on the types and flavor styles. I recommend the Swedish Hash (and ask for more of the homemade cheese the have with the pretzel sticks). Add it to your list!

Great german pub and restaurant in the center of Stockholm. They have a great selection of draft beers. We didn’t eat there, but our host will recommend, the dishes looks very tasted!

  • 4/5 Martin L. 1 year ago on Google
Cozy, the staff knows the beers, special keg openings are advertised on their Facebook page and the Schnitzel was quite alright (wish they'd served more sauce on the side, it was a bit too little for my liking). I am coming back. Their Schnitzel is still among the best I have ever had.

Flammkuchen was quite small, service a bit cold and not friendly but acceptable, good choice of beers but very expensive.

Excellent comfort food in a authentic beer hall environment. We absolutely loved it and have been really surprised with the friendly staff and reasonable prices (considering the location). We will be back for more.

Friendly and welcoming staff that works really hard and effective as well as some amazing food with a Swedish theme, I had a great time and highly recommend having a visit if you want to get a real feel for what good Swedish food can be!
