Bar Central, taking the reins from the beloved Folkoperan, has managed to not only preserve but enhance the essence of this classic spot. With its thoughtfully retained theatrical ambiance, it offers a seamless blend of tradition and contemporary style. The atmosphere is inviting and vibrant, making it a go-to for those who appreciate a classic watering hole in a classy setting. It's a commendable successor that does justice to its heritage while carving out its own unique identity.

Terrible and hostile manager. Judging from other reviews, it appears to be a common occurrence. There are much better places next to this establishment with friendly and professional staff.

The bartender on the lower floor is unfortunately very unfriendly. I was in the bar a few times, he never gave me a feeling that I am welcome here. The last time I went there, there were obviously free tables but he said we can't sit here. That was the last time that I go there as long as this guy works there, although I find the bar of the atmosphere very appealing.

Excellent (heavy!) food. The langos and the schnitzel were both fantastic. Nice vibe friday evening.

The service is great and the food is really awesome. On the bad side is the rest rooms. You have to climb a staircase down in a dim light. Not optimal. Otherwise, it was a nice experience.

The best beer in Stockholm served the right way. Especially great service from a very friendly staff. Get fried cheese to feel more central. 😃

Decent cocktails but nothing out of the ordinary. Waiter came by only once during the one hour we were there. Not many beer options. The tables on the balcony are a bit secluded and sad.

If you come here it should be because of the beer. Wonderful Pilsner fresh from the tank. Unfortunately the Czech vibes stop there. It's not really a drinking place in the Czech sense. Most of the seating is dedicated to dining. And don't get me started on the RnB "music". Just make it go away, please.

Good atmosphere, drinks are good but I do not recommend the food. We had two steaks the cut wasn’t great. The Chili was over salted and the råraka was over cooked “so crispy”. You cannot make these mistakes as a restaurant when you charge that much.

Stumbled across Folkbaren during a frantic search for a place to catch up with three friends. Food was great, service was excellent, nice ambiance. WC situation could be improved (two unisex washrooms for a restaurant spanning two floors + patio).

Nice place to have a drink, inside or outside and upper floor is even for having a meal (although you can order small dishes anywhere in the bar). Prices are normal for Sweden, I'd say.

Still the best Czech pub in town. Fresh unpastourised/unfiltered Urquell on tap - straight from Plzên brewery to Bar Central.

Great place! Try the pigd ears or pickled cucumbers, you'll be surprised! Excellent beer.

Consistently excellent Central European food and booze — excellent Pilsner, especially. Menu changes seasonally, always with a few good vegetarian options. Two caveats: Prices are high (as normal for Östermalm) and it’s usually very busy, so book ahead and don’t expect quiet.

$$ very nice place with friendly and very professional service. Food is good but medium priced. Their Pilsner Urquell is very good.

Nice atmosphere, good music and a fair selection of beers. Doesn't get too loud, so one is still able to hold a chilled conversation.

Great atmosphere! Food is decent for the price you pay, and you will definetely feel full. I had the burrata and the moules. Starters felt better than the main dish tbh.

Great food and service, small beer on tap selection, but a very good vibe. Outdoor seating has no shade, so prepare for a lot of sun in the summer. Good place for a drink with a group although indoor seating is quite limited.
