Had dinner here. Nice place , good ambiance. Place was full. Don't go without reservation especially on weekends. Ordered Pelicans meatballs and Seared venison fillet. Were told this place is among the best for traditional Swedish food. Were disappointed because had wanted to try reindeer dishes but a waiter told that since reindeer is very expensive and hard to get so not available so tried venison instead. Both dishes were good. Staff very attentive and courteous and food came quickly despite crowd. Very lovely atmosphere would recommend.

The only real downside of this restaurant is that the waiter was rude and entitled. Yummy Swedish food!! Service was good but the waiters were quite busy so it took awhile to wave them down. Lovely atmosphere. Meatballs were Delish, the potato was also silky smooth and so moreish. The steak was yum. The boiled pork knuckle was average as it was just like boiled ham essentially. The steak tartare and herring was nice but not amazing.

We ordered the reindeer and the anchovies for the starters. The food came so fast that I think it took us less than 60 mins eating and chatting in the restaurant. The food is okay - perhaps it's just not matched with my taste buds.

The only negative remark is that it can get noisy, thanks to the probably 6m tall ceiling, but not so bad you can't have a happy conversation.

Restaurant Pelikan came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Prompt and friendly service - not being Swedish I asked for local food recommendations so I had the Herring for starter and Meatballs for main. Both were excellent! Easy to travel to, just four stops on the Metro from Central.

I had a lovely dinner at Pelikan. The selection of herring (starter) was exquisite. Potato dumplings (main dish) were nice too. I was particularly impressed by the herring starter. There were four different varieties of cured herring; cured with sweet vinegar, herb-based (dill?) sauce, one with chopped onion, and another one that I couldn't quite identify. The potato dumplings were much much nicer done the name might convey. The dumpling skin was chewy and was different than Anything else I have taste it before. It was not quite like Italian ravioli, gnocchi, or various types of Chinese dim sum dumplings. Veggie-based filling felt quite meaty. I believe it's based on mushrooms. Spinach, mushroom, and lingonberry provided nice variety too, although the oil (butter?) that The dumplings are swimming in was a little bit much for me.

Phenomenal food from one of the oldest restaurants I've ever been to. I'm a meat eater. I got the steak tartar to start and it was fresh and delicious. Then indulged in some beautifully cooked venison. Ended with some ice cream and an Irish coffee. Our waiter was very professional. Food prices are reasonable for what I'd consider a high end traditional experience. Drinks will add $$$ but WELL worth it IMO. I will be back.

A classic Swedish restaurant, which has apparently been here since 1733 😳. Relaxed and spacious dining hall adds to the ambience. The food is really very good. Pork cheek confit to start, the meat falling apart, the veg crunchy and sweet. A fabulous steamed cod main course with a wonderful white wine sauce. The dill was truly fragrant and added tremendously to the dish. Meatballs looked very good too. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

This place is great. Unpretentious, sort of Art Nouveau looking, claiming to have been here since 1664! Doesn’t matter, it’s just very atmospheric and makes you glad to be in Stockholm. I think every wait staff on duty came by to greet me and offer encouragement and food. I only had the cured fallow deer appetizer but it was very good. I’ll be going back for dinner one day soon. I went at 14:00 on a Saturday, No waiting, light crowd. No AC so it was hot in late August. Recommended.

It‘s a Swedish battleship; reliable and to me it felt like a traditional brewery restaurant. Four stars because it‘s very touristy. Probs because of the food they are serving. It‘s solid Swedish food classics. I liked my köttbullar with all the trimmings very much. Even though I couldn’t figure out if the sauce was homemade - it tasted like something I‘ve had before, and that‘s normally a sign of pre-made sauces. Meatballs were big and spot on! Lingonberries zingy and not too sweet. Loved the unfiltered lager beer, too.
