Came here because of the good ratings of 4.4, and was completely disappointed. The place was empty which was a sign of bad food because many places are closed for the mid summer two days (6/23-24), but we were asked whether we had reservations. We were finally seated and the waiter was extremely rude. We ordered a beer and two entrees (swedish holiday classic and the hairy, they are sausages and meat balls and taco). Both the quality and the quantity were bad, they are worse than the restaurants half it's price. Costs about 900 for two (entrees are about 400 each, pig, beers about 100 each). Avoid.

It used to be my favorite restaurant, best food in Stockholm, and my #1 recommendation, but due to some change in the kitchen, it’s became my least favorite. The food was terrible, my disappointment cannot be described by words. Cheap ingredients, soggy buns, acidic salad and coleslaw. Service was still good, though.

The restaurant is located in super central Gamla Stan, surrounded by a ton of touristy places. The Hairy Pig shouldn't necessarily be considered one: if you like meat, especially game, they have a lot to offer. The menu contains a whole bunch of interesting sampling combos (like the one in the picture attached), so you get to try locally sourced reindeer and wild boar meat along with your regular beef. If you're hungry, that's the place for you. We were able to share a sampling meal between two people and be satisfied. Dessert was very nice too. If you're in a rush, however, consider that it takes a little bit for the food to get to your table. The dining room is rather small and we saw only one (exceptionally hardworking!) waitress attending to customers. Price-wise, they're aligned with the area especially considering the type of raw ingredients that they source.

We went there for lunch on a weekday , there was a set lunch menu , and I had ordered the moose sausages, it came with lots of veg salad and potatoes salad, the set lunch was good it included with coffee and a biscuit, food was quite Swedish classic, coffee was very strong and bitter, service was average, overall it was great, nothing to complain about.

This is the way to go, from the service to the food everything was a full 5 star place, the food tasted fresh, meatballs, wild boar delicious and the sides definitely made everything good, the sausage tasted what it should taste like, beer was also good and the service was on point, we didn't have to wait and even when there was only one waitress, she did awesome, overall, you need to try a good old Swedish meal.

I’ve been worried about having reservations and places to eat since it feels busy in Stockholm. The Hairy Pig is quiet, bustling, and a great place for a low-key dinner. Wild boar sausage was a hit, but my favorite was the reindeer taco. It’s a taco-interpretation, more like a tiny bowl of love. Reindeer has a particular flavor — I’m guessing not everyone likes it, but I do! Also got the glögg and pronunciation lessons (tack!).

Definitely unique with its wild animal based dishes. We had the 2 person tasting platter, which offeres a lot of what they have on their menu. They were across the board very tasty, but pretty tiny. I expected a bigger price tag with its location in the center. Though with this style of restaurant I was still hoping to be full with their biggest menu item. For example the 2 person tasting platter only included a single side dish :/ So even tho tasty I was leaving the restaurant still a bit hungry and therefore disappointed.

Tasty food. Service fair. Cleanliness of the table, silverware and view of the kitchen while paying the bill was rather gross and not clean. The bathroom was disgusting. Happy we ate before seeing the bathroom. Portions are small for the price.

This was one of the best meals we have had so far in Europe to date - the Moose meatballs are exceptional. We had Moose meatballs, Reindeer stew, beer, amazing Briska elderflower cider (not sweet, just nice), and their Vasa 1628 brandy. Everything was delicious. *We ordered on a Friday from the lunch menu and revealed complimentary coffee and cookies afterwards. Service was great - attentive and friendly staff who brought the orders quickly and checked up on us without being pushy. Overall cost about 70€, but was well worth it!

Super tolles Restaurant in der Altstadt Stockholms. Es gab leckere traditionelle Küche, also Elch und Rentier und das Essen war mega super. Ich gebe leider nur 4 Sterne für den Service, weil unsere Vorspeise vergessen wurde und auch auf Nachfrage zwar eine Entschuldigung kam, aber das Essen dennoch nicht nachgereicht worden ist. Ansonsten wirklich ein top Restaurant :)

Swedish Classic platter comes with 4 mini sausages, 3 mini meatballs, few slices of ham and beetroot salad. Sausages were good and beetroot salad was delicious, everything else is just meh. Don’t think I would come back.

My friend received the wrong order but it was easily resolved and he got to try another dish he was comtemplating anyway. I had the Hairy Pig, which was delicious. The brioche bun is the perfect bun, to ensure you don't get full. The reindeer taco is also a great addition and great flavour. The staff were really friendly without being overbearing and too attentive. The interior was nice and suited the space. It also has outdoor seating, which would be perfect in the summer. Cocktails were the best thing. Not the most presentation, but extremely tasty. Got the the wild boar sausage, mash, and salad. Plate presentation was lacking. Salad underwhelming. Sausage was just ok. Waiter was friendly and attentive.

Not an enormous place, definitely not that many tables, but the atmosphere was cozy and nice, even in the tables outside, with a slight hint of countryside overall. I definitely recommend the food, be it a dinner with two people or a family evening. The waiters and personnel in general were really nice and kind, even easygoing and smiling when we asked for more time to read the menu for the fourth time in a row due to our indecision. Position is overall fine, central and easy to reach. Not only recommended, but definitely willing to dine in again.

We drank a really nice gin cocktail (rhubarb) and an IPA draft beer. It was a nice experience and will definitely come back! We had planned to pick up some sausages the next day but unfortunately didn't have time, hopefully we can come back soon!

One of the best sausages in Stockholm! The other dishes are also very tasty! For example the croquettes with cheese and Salami where so much better than i could imagine, and I had quite high hopes on that dish. The owners are very friendly and warm, it has a really inviting feel to it. The only minus with the visit was, towards the end many new guest where seated. And it got a little bit hectic since it was only one person on the floor. And as a result we had a hard time getting service for like 15 minutes. But i wasnt bothered that much by it due to the atmosphere being very relaxing. But i would give it 5 stars anyway, everything else was just so good.

The Hairy Pig was the perfect choice for lunch after a long cold morning. The food was amazing , I ordered the panbiff of reindeer and it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. Creamy mushroom soup was so warming and so delicious. You must also try the house beer, perfectly compliments the food. Service was great, staff was attentive and polite. They also speak multiple languages to help you out. The restaurant has a cozy and rustic ambience which completes the feeling of being in an old tavern in the old town of Stockholm. Love at first sight, this restaurant is my favorite spot in Stockholm.

Great spot to stop for a bite and pint while in Gamla Stan. We had the lager and the meat lovers board which came with enough food to split - unless you’re really hungry, order your own. The service was great and a nice spot to people watch. While we did go in July, I imagine this is a cozy place in the winter if you’re looking for a place to enjoy a beverage inside on your own or with a group.
