Very grateful to the Royal Family of Sweden for sharing a portion of their life to the public. It's nice to see the beautiful interiors of the palace and the opulence that goes with it. It's good to have a guide like Irene when visiting the palace as you you'll hear the stories and event history for each room / space inside. Grateful for the opportunity to see how royals live in the modern society. Had a quick glance of the changing of the guards as well. Very impressed.

This royal palace is truly impressive and surprisingly ugly. It shows the absurdity of a monarchy very well. The massive waste of ressources, the absurd military decoration royals gave to each other for every useless thing they did and simply the bad taste monarchs had and still have can be admired everywhere. I am very glad we never had a monarchy in Switzerland and it's good that this time is over in most of Europe. It's fascinating to me that Nations like Sweden or UK are still tolerating and supporting their royals.

Very beautiful and historic.the old apartments and the other apartments including guest ones were grand. The audio guide that's available with a qr code was very detailed and engaging. Easy boards in English are very helpful. Grand portraits and furniture. Worth visiting! The roof paintings are awe-inspiring.

Simply great. Actually it's several visits. The royal jewels, the flats and the armoury. It is surprising that the flats are still in use (although recent visitors have declined the honour and gone to the hotel). Booked a couple of hours for the visit ... When booking you have to choose a time for the visit and there is only one hour of flexibility.

Very cool palace where you can see quite a bit of history and pageantry. Loved walking around and seeing the various living areas and public spaces for the Swedish royal family. I think the room with all the paintings was my favorite of all.

(Translated by Google) Met the king nice guy! He invited his wife which was very nice! Then we had a really big dinner with many children. Would meet the king 100% if I could again. However, must go to his home country to meet his wife. (Original) Träffade kungen trevlig snubbe! Han bjöd på sin fru vilket var väldigt nice! Sen hade vi en riktigt stor middag med många barn. A must for any touristic visits to Stockholm. Even though the entrance is a bit hard to find, the pathfinding is worth the effort. Such beautiful interior and lots of historical value. It's amazing to walk around corridors and rooms that are actually in use by the royal family presently. The custodians are very helpful and seemed delightful to enlighten us in answering any questions we might have.

It’s very honor to walk in the Royal Palace. I saw many rooms decorated in their style. I don’t know it it’s from original or renovated. I love the color of the structure of the main stair. I also saw what solder did when it’s time to change guard.

With the general admission ticket you can roam the underground museum of the palace history as well as the Royal Apartments which I highly recommend checking out. Make sure to also see the changing of the Royal Guard at 12:15 pm daily. 1:15pm on Sundays.

This is one stop that you probably shouldn't skip if you're in Stockholm, especially if you're trying to learn about their culture and history. Every room of the palace is a piece of art that tells a different story, from the paintings, sculptures, and wall decor, to the garments, pins and flags that have been made over the decades. A cool detail is that the Sweden still utilizes the palace to celebrate certain events, so it serves multiple purposes. Genuinely an impressive and massive architecture inside and out. We didn't have to wait in line to buy the tickets or get into the palace, but you can buy those online if you're interested. The palace itself takes a good amount of time to get around, especially if you're into Sweden's history and culture, around 2-3 hours and maybe even more.

Really glad we went to the Royal Palace. Kids loved it, and I did even more! ÷) Haven't seen so much cultural history in one place before. Recomend to buy the ticket online maybe, usually its a little cheaper as most things in Sweden.

One of the most beautiful Royal Palaces i have ever seen. Of course each royal palace is beautiful, but some of them attract your eye with so much detail in the decorations that amaze you. I loved each room and the ceiling decorations are amazing. The chandeliers and tapestry are very beautiful. This is a must see royal palace when visiting the city.

A Beautiful historical visit to the Royal Palace. A rich history of one of the few remaining monarchies in the world today. The palace's location in the heart of Stockholm made it easily accessible and a perfect starting point to explore the surrounding Old Town. The guided tours were informative and engaging, providing insights into the royal family's life and Swedish culture. This visit was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone interested in history, architecture, or just looking for a unique experience in Stockholm. The Royal Palace of Sweden is a testament to the country's rich heritage and enduring allure.

I really like this palace. Not as outlandish as many other royal European palaces but much more attractive than the one in Copenhagen. Lots of history to be gained by going to this place. Don't disregard the jubilee section of it while it is an extra pay, it is worth it. .

It was worth the money, lots of rooms to see and was very impressive. It was very quiet and we seemed to have the whole palace to ourselves which was great. Go to the loo before you enter as none inside.

There are no tours currently being given because of the Coronavirus but there are so many informative signs in each room along with an app where you can either read or listen to information about the rooms. It was very huge on the inside and we were delighted that so many of the rooms are decorated as they were. We were surprised to see there was a museum in the basement, we almost missed it. It had great artifacts and information about the history of the palace. The workers there were friendly and able to answer all my questions. Glad we were able to go!

Nice and so, but mostly walking through a couple of rooms with variants of Rococo interior. The kids got a map to find animals inte decor. Harder than we thought. Would like more of the history of the fire and how it was before.

A must see in Stockholm, it is far greater then one would expect. Since Sweden is a quite open country, you get to get close to to see much even if the king is in the residence. Take the whole tour including the Knights church if you have time. The crown is also interesting to see if you are interested in jewelry. Since most of the activities is inside this is a prefect thing to do on a rainy day in Stockholm. There is also many interesting things around the castle in the old town. If you come by car. Best thing to to is park close to the water on Skeppsbron.

Amazing is an absolute understatement! There is so much beauty, history, and things to see here. The Palace does a a great job explanation the different transitions the grounds have seen over the different periods. Make sure you see the cathedral and the soldiers marching. 100% a must visit!

This is a Royal Palace worthy of its name! Very nice to visit, impressive rooms and exhibits. Please don't bring your screaming small children here. They don't even understand where they are but they spoil the experience in an otherwise quiet and elegant space.

The Royal Palace is a must see when visiting Stockholm. The ticket includes access to 4 different exhibition areas: the total and state apartments, the armory and antique collection plus access to the restroom. It’s a good way to spend an afternoon and plus the palace is locate in the heart of the old city and you can take a walk around the neighborhood before or after.

As name stated it is Royal Palace. We have visited on National day and the palace is huge and has too many things to do. Best this is to visit royal rooms and sculpture museum and arms museum. Rooms are royally decorated. During weekend it gets a but crowded and specially during any occasion such as national day. There are royal guards at every doors and also there are change of guards happening everyday which is quite a site to watch. Royal palace is well connected with public transport. Nearest station is Bus stop and train station is 5-10 min walk. It is wheelchair friendly however during crowd it is tough. There are many other places near by to see and have some coffee and fika.

The museum overall is one of the main attractions of Stockholm, if not the main one (with the Nobel museum as well), so paying for a visit, in my opinion, is worth it I found quite interesting the fact that I didn’t wait for any line, although the place was quite crowded. This maybe happened because we went there almost at the closing of the museum (which is very early) Talking about the exhibits, I was expecting something more from the Palace. Don’t get me wrong, the collection had a plethora of things to see, but comparing it to other Palaces, it’s quite behind The staff was more than happy to assist and there were many souvenir shops alongside the entrances of the palace, but the souvenirs were very overpriced in my humble opinion All in all, it’s worth going there to invest one or two hours of your time to enrich yourself with information about the Royal Family of Sweden

Wow. This was truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life, the art, decor, lighting, architecture... Absolutely everything was breathtaking and sublime. This is a very large place with lots to see and the ticket options you have available give you the chance to see more or less depending on how much time you have (you could easily spend half a day here). If you go to Stockholm, this is a must see!

We saw the 500 year exhibition which is worth visiting. We didn't see all as closed after royal events before Xmas. Would love to go back. We had an extremely knowledgeable guide chat to us which was very helpful and we learnt a great deal. Thank you.

a must-visit in stockholm. Very different from the Norwegian royal palace which is simple and almost minimalist, the Swedish royal palace is definitely luxurious and stunning. I went there on a weekday and surprisingly not many visitors, which provided a wonderful experience.

Beautiful palace so much to see. I was also able to see the exhibition Märta Måås-Fjetterström: "Look at the carpets - it's me". It was about the carpets she designed, her sources of inspiration, life, career and the conditions for female entrepreneurship during the first half of the 20th century. Interesting stuff if your a textile fanatic. The toilets are located in the palace square, they are very clean and next door to this is the palace shop with lots of goodies to look at.

Amazing place. So much history and culture to pick up and absorb. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and always happy to share information about the palace. The very visible pride, dedication and eagerness of the staff humming about the place (and with Gusto!) makes the visit here just that much more exciting. Tip: Ask questions and take in the experience.

Go if you like how royalties live. Time to visit 3 hours ( normal curiosity visit) Headphones (for a good audio tour) Water bottle, protein bars No washrooms in palace It real gives glimpse of the lifestyle kings and queens have. Ever room, the walls, decorations and even the daily use things is royal and unique. This palace is still in use for few annual meetings and as a guest house of state representatives of different countries. Audio details of each section gives illustrated details. I enjoyed every section with great audio input. In my opinion a must visit.

From the outside, the building is impressive, but a bit boring. The interiors are beautiful and correspond to the importance of the place. Unfortunately, the treasury and the chapel were closed at the "covid time", but the royal apartments were doubtless worth it.

A grand and luxurious palace with wonderful furnishings. This is Stockholm's main attraction. You must check it out! Several times a day, with spectacular, ornate guard changing, which you should definitely watch! Worth it. But beware, because they are stolen in large crowds !!! Up to a day at the embassy and other offices !!!!!!! Be careful !!!!!! There are many different attractions around. You can spend the whole day in the area.

This place is huge! We spent two full hours and could have spent two more, but we started too close to closing time for that. There's so much to look at! They said to start upstairs because that is the biggest and they weren't kidding. It's huge! We almost missed the old palace museum in the basement. Would have loved to have spent much more time there. Don't miss the Armory or the Treasury. There's great stuff to see.

(Translated by Google) The castle is really beautiful, and to our surprise, you get a glimpse of a lot of rooms. I think it's a shame that the royal family is marketed so extremely, but that's normal in the tourism industry, it's no different in England. Otherwise we really liked it. The many small and partly golden details and the ceiling paintings in the rooms were really nice. I was also very impressed by the throne. Definitely worth a visit.

You can get 50 % discount if you are student by showing your student card. In addition, try to be there at around 12 pm to see soldiers parade in front of the Royal palace museum. Visited during the off season in Stockholm(March-April). No wait at the entrance. Great place, with a majestic staircase, that goes to 3 different exhibitions, the Royal apartment, legionary room, and Queen Room. At 12:45PM you can see the guard shifts at the entrance of the Royal Palace.

Its one of the cheaper excursions within Stockholm. For some, it may not be worth it. But it is a very beautiful 16th and 17th century palace. One ticket gets you access to 3 different parts of the palace which is why I think its worth it and shouldn't take you much longer than 2 or 3 hours. If you dont pay to get in, at least walk around and try to catch the changing of the guards. Time varies depending on season but I believe it was at least always on Sunday and Wednesday at noon.

The royal palace is the most notable feature in Sweden. This palace is constructed at 1600s.More renovations were done after that. The Baroque architecture is been followed in the palace. The entry is not free. You need to take separate ticket for entering the royal palace even though if you have daily pass. You can typically spend around 15 to 20 minutes inside the palace. There will be guard changing ceremony by 11 am daily. You are free to watch the ceremony. The duration of ceremony is around 15 to 20 minutes. There is a small shop adjacent to royal palace where you can find the products for sale which are been currently used by the royal palace and the royal family. However it's little bit expensive.

I visited here on a one day trip to Sweden. It was a great experience. The palace is large, very beautiful and well maintained and you can take a short tour in certain areas of the palace which was nice. If you’re lucky enough, you would get to see the palace guards changing shifts.

Wonderful experience at the Royal Palace. I went on a Monday in September and there were minimal crowds which is great. Your admission ticket also includes access to other museums on site so you should go and check them out too!

If you like baroque design, grand chambers with matching chandeliers and paintings of royal families then this is for you. Good insight into how the royal houses of Europe are interconnected / intermarried over many generations.

Take it or leave it. We only got a chance to see apartments. The hall was closed. So did not have the opportunity to explore it completely. It is palace anyway so it is nicely covered in gold from ceiling to floor gives you “wow” feeling

The Royal Palace is one of the historic crown jewels of Stockholm. An absolute must visit while wandering through the big city. Carve out some time to observe the grand architecture & intricate details. Remarkably stunning & unforgettable.

The best time to go is on National Holiday in June. They have all kinds of activities and festivities to celebrate. On this day admission is free to everyone. They end the day with a royal parade. However if you are not visiting in June this should still be a must see on your to do list. The Palace is still used today for royal duties. The pomp and circumstance that still thrives in Sweden is breathtaking.

Changing of the Guard well worth a visit. Pomp and ceremony, with military band accompaniment, in a dignified and disciplined operation. Come early for a good view but wear comfortable footwear for you stand on the cobbled courtyard.

the palace was very pretty, well decorated, photogenic, and the history of the palace was interesting. unfortunately, there was too much walking between the exhibitions, and there were too many stairs, so it's not compatible for disabled people and whoever deals with foot/leg injuries.

This place is awesom. If you are in Stockholm then this is a must visit place. The palace is huge. It may not look huge from outside but once you start seeing things from the inside then you find out that this is a big. There is so much beauty inside that your camera won't be able to capture that. You have to be there and store everything in your mind through your eyes. The rooms are so big and highly decorated, even I tried wide angle camera, I still wasn't able to capture the things fully. My favorite part are the ceiling paintings. Those are very beautiful.

The Royal Palace was worth the visit. I enjoyed the treasury room with all the old swords and crown jewels. Self guided tour, if your just looking you can get through the tour pretty quick. If you read everything it could definitely take a while. I got lucky and finished the tour right when the guard change happened. The guard change was the best part!

The important info is that buying the entrance ticket you have the access not only to the king's chambers, but also to 4 different parts, including treasury. To visit full complex it's required to devote 3 hours minimum. Entrance ticket costs 190 sek.

The castle is a good experience. The standard tickets include the inner apartments, the museum, and the treasury. Everything is conserved and presented very nicely, signs provide detailed explanations, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The apartments were quite dark (probably to save the Interieur from UV exposure) and the treasury rather small. Also, some exhibits were missing - I guess due to the king's jubilee exhibition. All in all recommendable.

The royal palace is quite stunning, especially on the inside. To be honest, the exterior doesn't look too impressive or sophisticated. However, there is a lot to explore inside this magnificent building. As far as the interior is concerned, I enjoyed its Baroque style decor. It feels similar to other Northern and Central European Imperial palaces. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting it. A true gem with rich history.

The iconic landmark of Stockholm, this place is definitely one of the must visit in the city. While the royal family still lives and uses this place, public members can visit the different museums and exhibitions housed within. You can buy a ticket from several entrances, the signboards are quite clear and informative, where it will give you access to different sections of the palace. Not all of the places would be open all year round, so it's good to check before visiting. The whole place is massive, so if you want to cover everything, be sure to allocate at least half a day. There's also a lot of walking, so you might want to wear comfortable shoes. We really liked the experience as it's something unique to Sweden. Even if you don't want to pay for the museum access, you can still view the daily royal guard change and admire the building from afar.

I’m happy that we decided to visit the castle. It looks really good. Halls are amazing and contain a lot of unique artefacts. If you have some spare time in Stockholm, you should go to see it by yourself

baroque style is my addiction! the royal palace in Stockholm is gorgeous! full of pieces of art! even if I didn't manage to see all the rooms because I arrived late and it closes at 4 p.m., this is not a reason for disappointment because I will come back especially to see more! it was fantastic! although I saw a small part, it won me over!

I came here in summer 2018. It's clean, large and so beautiful. No entrance fee here, yes it's free! I love european old buildings. I was so lucky because I could see the march of royal troops there. I wish I could visit it again one day.

The Royal Palace in Stockholm is an absolute must-visit attraction that oozes grandeur and history. Stepping into this magnificent landmark feels like stepping back in time, as you are instantly immersed in the opulence and regal charm of Sweden's monarchy. The Royal Palace also houses several museums, each offering a rich display of art, artifacts, and royal collections. The Treasury, in particular, showcases an impressive array of crown jewels and regal treasures that truly exemplify the nation's heritage.

Magnificent architecture and interior design. It really conveys the feeling of how it was being a royal. The ticket comes with 3 different places to visit and it is worth visiting all of them. Also the guided tours give you a deeper view into the history of the place.
