Good to be back in “my town” and re-visit some of the tourist attractions like this one! Very interesting, good value with 3 “areas” / exhibits included in the price. The change of the guard in between exhibits was also a great experience if you manage to time that as we did!

Beautiful halls in the palace, which are still actively used for official meetings, welcome and ceremonial events. Many details explained in Swedish and English. And all staff are really friendly and open to help. If you can, take 10-15 minutes to whitness changing guards in the inner court of the palace at 12 am.

Touristy MUST see Royal palace impresses with its grandeur architecture and design. Daily Change of the Guards is entertaining. Royal state apartments are splendid. Though I was surprised and disappointed when the supervisors of the rooms could not answer a simple question whose portrait it was on the wall or when the Palace was built ( hey tried to google ) . Please educate your stiff on simple facts as it ruins impression for thousands of tourist who travel from a far to visit the Palace

Saw the change of the guard then a visit to the royal apartments, treasury and 3 crowns museum. Guided tour was informative. The self guided visit to the apartments, treasury and museum were great. Interesting, rewarding and worth the visit. Fascinating!

Out of the 18 years of my life, this might be one of the most incredible buildings I have ever visited. While standing outside of it, you expect it to be pretty big on the inside. I mean, it's 3 above-ground stories, covering a huge space. But, you will nonetheless be awestruck when you walk in. The entry hall has an incredibly high ceiling, with an enormous painting of cherubs and royalty. This in itself is a beautiful work of art and a great foreshadowing for the grandeur to come later in the exploration of the palace. The next area was a series of rooms containing royal and military awards and orders, vestments, and information regarding the royal family and crests. All of these rooms are incredibly ornate. The walls are gilded in addition to plentiful red paint, and the ceilings are equipped with enormous crystal chandeliers. The throne room is at the end of this, which is finished with incredibly intricate marble statues and façades. The throne itself was surprisingly small. I'd imagine probably because they spent all their money constructing the other rooms. Now, walking through the other wing of the palace, your expectations are shattered again. The rooms somehow get more ornate and a lot more red. There is no available space here not covered with a painting, gold, marble, fancy curtains, or rugs. This was an incredible way to experience the full might of royal splendor, leaving you speechless. This is a 100% MUST-SEE in Stockholm. You do not want to miss coming here.

I booked a 45 mins tour guide in English with my ticket and it was well worth it, As the lady who took the guide was so informative and knowledgeable. The rooms were lovely and regal and after the tour you have the freedom to explore the other rooms at your leisure,And of course much more of the out buildings, I popped into the Guest Room where other dignitaries stay when visiting also I went to see the crown jewels and the items were fabulous. I got there as soon as the Palace was opening and witness changing of the Guard and that took place at approx 09:45am. Well worth seeing.

Beautiful palace, quite interesting history surrounding it. I recommend to book the 45min guided tour as it was full of really interesting Swedish history and data you won't get otherwise. However, make sure you either book the 10:30AM as the palace closes at 4PM and you won't have much time to explore on your own if you book the 2:30PM and you come at that time as we did (I didn't know the closing time was 4PM and we only had 30 mins after the guide finished the tour, which was closed to 1hr). Alternatively, I believe you can enter ahead of time before the guide 2:30PM tour and then meet the guide once you are done visiting the floors that are not covered in the tour (only the top floor is covered). The guided tour ticket gave us access as well to the small treasury (you only need about 15 minutes there as it's pretty small but beautiful). Overall this is one of the most beautiful palaces we have visited in Europe and once again, the history behind, not just about the palace but Sweden in general, is pretty amazing.

I visited the Royal Palace and was impressed by the inclusion of three museums in one ticket. Exploring each exhibit, I appreciated the detailed historical displays and the elegant interiors that vividly narrate centuries of royal legacy. The thoughtfully curated collections offered a comprehensive glimpse into the lives of past rulers, making the experience both educational and engaging. The palace’s grandeur reminded me of Dolmabahçe Palace with its opulent decor and impressive scale, yet it provided a more intimate view of royal life. I believe it is definitely one of the must-see museums in Sweden—a place where history, art, and culture converge to create a memorable and enriching experience.

This royal residence has been in the same location, in the northern part of Gamla stan, since the middle of the 13th century. It shows the wealth and power of the Swedish crown, because most forget that it had an amazing military power for many years. Now, you can see all the magnificent, beautiful costumes and glittering carriages that tell of fairytale coronations, weddings and funerals at the Swedish court.

What a place of grandeur and stunning architecture! If visiting Stockholm, specifically Gamla Stan, make it a point to come visit the Royal Palace. Happened to catch HRH Victoria, the Crown Princess during a name day ceremony and it was something spectacular!

Beautiful 😍😊. You need to spend minimum 4 Hours to see the exhibits and to read the information about it if you want to read everything you will have to spend the hole day in it. I would recommend to see online if you can book a guide tour if you like. In the front of palace you can also see the ceremony of changing the royal guard look at the internet when will be done I highly recommend it.

Everything was gorgeous and spacious. I only saw the royal apartment and the museum (minimum entrance fee) but it took me 2 hours. Be sure to ask the guard exchange time of that day and plan your visit orders!
