Really fun and informative museum. Well designed in a way both children and adults can enjoy. Really cool to see historical/ancient history, animals from all over the world, as well as the exhibit focusing on the nature in Sweden specifically. Huge collection of taxidermy birds (definitely a must see if you’re an enthusiast)! Went on a Sunday and it was quite busy with lots of children and families. Something to keep in mind when planing your visit if you’re trying to avoid crowds.

Beautiful! The Swedish Royal Museum of Natural History, founded in 1819 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. As of 2014 it was the largest museum building in Sweden. A great collection of artifacts spread out across many areas, a nice place to spend half a day. Suitable for families with children. It also hosts an IMAX theater with paid shows. Museum is free to enter.

The museum of Natural History is worth a visit. It is very beautiful. It is huge. I really enjoyed my time here. I learned a lot here. There is a lot of information to be learned here. The museum covers natural history from dinosaurs to human origins. It has different land animals. It has different insects. It has information abouts different varieties of birds. It will tell you about sea life. It tell you about how our bodies work. All in all there is too much of information to be absorbed. You are going to like this place so definitely pay a visit to this museum.

The museum's impressive collection covers everything from fossils and minerals to botany, zoology, and paleontology. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated, providing insightful information and interactive elements that make learning about the natural world both enjoyable and engaging. One of the highlights was the mesmerizing dinosaur exhibit, featuring life-sized replicas and detailed information about these ancient giants. It was a treat for visitors of all ages, sparking imagination and wonder.

A real wonderful experience, plenty of exhibits, interactive, child friendly, educational, Swedish-English interface and completely free. If it's not on your agenda, put it there!

We spent four hours here with a 4-year old. This is a great museum for those interested in animals, nature and dinosaurs. The museum is well run and very nicely organized. The displays had interactive screens with information which engage the younger clientele I am sure. The high lights included the sleeping Dino ( can’t spell it), the tyrannosaurus skeleton and the gardens with the urban gardening exhibition. I also thought the gift shop was nice; a good selection for all ages.

Absolutely beautiful collection of fossils, stones and gems. The VR animal scenes were exquisite and the passing exhibit by Björn Persson was eye opening and truly a great time. A must go visit!

Was in Stockholm for a quick trip and a friend of mine suggested we check out the museum. I had a really good time and I felt like the exhibits were really interesting and well laid out in the museum had a really good slow. The bilingual displays and information cards were really also appreciated and the variety of species to rob the museum was actually very much impressive. Highly suggest anyone in the area looking for something to do on an evening or a day to kill a few hours to stop by here.

A wonderful building, but the contents are not very wonderful. The initial enthusiasm stopped when I realized that the dinosaur bones were not real. The rest of the museum was pretty boring.

I love visiting the Natural History Museums and this was a wonderful surprise. The NHM is Sweden's largest museum and it is a government agency. This Museum is a world-class research institution and results from nearly 300 years of research trips and collection. It research the species' relationship and evolution, the evolution of the globe, environmental toxins and how humans affect nature. The NHM has 10 permanent exhibitions as well as Cosmonova, a dome cinema with films in IMAX format. I loved everything, and Cosmonova was an amazing top experience. Do take a day, or more if you can, and wear your comfy shoes because you will want to see this...

Beautiful architecture housing very good exhibitions. I especially enjoyed the Nature of Sweden displays which showcase excellent attention to diorama details and quality taxidermy. Entrance is free.

Very high quality exhibitions in both Swedish and English. My 6 year old loved the interactive presentations. Of course, you would be better to have some knowledge in advance. But even if not, the kids will still have a lot of fun and learning.

Free natural history museum with various themes. Dinosaurs, whales, pretty rocks and scary insects. Takes about two hours for a quick browse. Most exhibits have some text in English.

With such a vast number of exhibitions across diverse topics, you'd need at least two hours and the experience is well worth it. What you'll receive once you visit: - friendly staff - highly informative and interactive exhibitions (I just found out my grip strength is 16kg 🫣, and I could hang on like an ape for 10 seconds). This is also especially good for the kids - rich display of exhibitions across the topics of wildlife, the human body, sustainability and climate matters, gems and precious stones, evolution of man etc....I can't exhaust the list, you'll need to be there 😌

Diverse and interesting exhibitions, loved the interactive parts and the ones presenting stuffed animals in their "real" environment, those we were in true awe of! Perfect for families and single travellers, everyone will find something for themselves.

I had a fantastic time at the Natural History Museum in Stockholm! The T-Rex exhibit was absolutely stunning, captivating visitors with its lifelike representation. The museum's dedication to showcasing the wonders of natural history truly shines through. Highly recommended for all ages!

One of the best history museums that I've been. Very well established and maintained. Multiple interactions with different educational games. Lockers, buffet, and eating area with microwaves good place to stop for fika. Cinema experience with a 180° globe shaped screen is a must to try! Recommended

Great museum, specially for kids. Bus station rigth next to the building. Located in the building with an amazing architecture with a lot of exhibitions. Perfect for animal, mineral and nature lovers.

We went for the dinosaur bones, which were indeed quite spectacular. But there's so much more to see there. The climate change exhibit was quite interesting, as was the geology one. Will definitely go again.

Great museum with an impressive collection - I went with my 2 year old and she had a blast. Please note parking is somewhat difficult, the suggested parking app seems to not accept foreign credit cards

Nicely maintained museum with interactive games and displays. There is a section of fossils and another one of the minerals. Vast collection and very informative. Worth the money. Recommended for adults and kids both.

Love this place. So family oriented. Great staff. Clean. Fun. Just perfect. Do visit the outdoor area where they grow berries, vegetables etc. And do visit the beehive!

Several exhibitions were closed for maintenance, good place to bring kids. It was slightly crowded. The permanent items are nice and interesting. Short walk from the Universitet metro station. Entry to the museum is free except for some special exhibitions.

Well worth a visit, lots of great exhibitions for all ages. Cosmonova is still a great experience for the kids even though time has catched up and no longer offers better theatre quality than the rest of the bunch. Projecting in the roof has its pros and cons... Free entrance is great, cheap all day entertainment with the family.

Had a great time here with my girlfriend and some others. There is a wide amount of things to look at here across multiple floors. Staff were helpful, the place was clearly looked after and there was some really interesting things to come and see here. If you have time I would strongly recommend coming here and spending some time. It's also near some attractive parts in Stockholm, lovely to have lunch in.

Totally recommend to visit the museum to observe and appreciate the beautiful nature around us and the mystery of creations to connect with. Great place for families 👪 to incentive kids to be curious about the world and explore the universe with open eyes 👀

One of the most wonderful museum, i 've ever visited. A lot of activities for children.

We have spent a couple of hours there and we could easily enjoy it for even longer. What initially attracted us to the museum were dinosaurs (one of the best expositions we saw in Europe so far). Very well organised and interactive. There is also a nice lab on top floor, great place to spark curiosity in science if you want to come here with kids… but we also had a lot of fun :)

Amazing. Since the exhibition of all animals of the world, the animals of Sweden, the news species and the extinct species even an amazing collection of rocks with ultraviolet lights and a good way of making awareness of global warming... Everything amazing And free! Hope more places like this come up! Just thanks a lot!

Great idea for a family trip! IMAX theater Cosmonova was great experience for the whole family! Easy accessible for families and disabled. Bring your own food or eat at the lunch restaurant. I'd given two more stars for, but felt that the exhibitions were old and dated. The interactive screens might have been the thing 20 years ago but not today. The staff at the Museum shop was not friendly, restaurant staff were not informed as to what of today's menu (3 options) was gluten-free.

An amazing museum that is well worth a visit. While there are a lot of things to look at and many exhibitions ongoing, it’s the dino skeletons that is the main attraction. They’re big and a kid in the right age span will love it. Make sure to pick a good time to visit though. It can sometimes be crowded with hundreds of kids from a bunch of schools. You’ll be zigzagging between them to go from one room to the next.

Awesome museum, and free to visit! A lot of the informative plaques had information in both English and Swedish. Tons of amazing exhibits. A really great way to spend an afternoon!

A perfect place to spend a day with children where learning and fun go hand in hand.... My 6 year son loves this place a lot. We have already visited this museum twice in less than a years period and still looking forward to visit, each time learning something new.... Their IMAX theatre, cosmonova was a great experience and is worth trying. The entrance to the museum is free but Cosmonova charges fee. The museum is well organized and they have interactive displays both in swedish and english.

Cosmonova is a must, by be aware that it might make you sick. Don’t forget to bring your own 3mm headphones, if you’re English speaker. If you forget your own ones, you’ll have to polish your Swedish quickly to able to understand. Headphones were not for sale there, and you couldn’t borrow them. The exhibits are nicely described on interactive tablets, besides the older part of the exhibition. I’d recommend it as a half a day activity with your family.

It's really a nice place to visit. So much to learn and gain for kids there are labs which make learning fun. It has so many sections and IMAX movies also every hour on various subjects.

A really nice experience for adults and toddlers. Rocked up in summer at 10(opening hour) and went straight to check out some dino bones. The polar artic route was fantastic as well as the Nordic animals. The restaurant does have plenty to choose from but there is usually a line to buy your food. Plenty of tables to sit on especially summer when you can sit outside.
