it's an unrealistically cool place. I recommend everyone with small children to visit it. You will definitely not regret it! It's like immersing yourself in a fairy tale and feeling like a child. Cool emotions are waiting for you! My child said that this is the best amusement park for children

The best attraction for kids of different ages including infants I have experienced. Various playground areas, theatre performances throughout the day, decent lunch option and the unforgettable fairytale “train” (kids will definitely ask you for at least one more ride). I stayed there with my family a whole day and we all loved it!

What a wonderfully whimsical way to spend a chilly day in Stockholm! Our kids absolutely loved the train ride and Pippi’s house on the 2nd floor of the museum. Highly recommend :)

Only tickets purchased in advance. Perfect for 2-8 year olds, I don't recommend it for a smaller person who needs a stroller or carrier. Carts must be left outside unattended, I recommend bringing a bike lock. Storage spaces for e.g. things from a boat trip can be found on the left in the vestibule, when you enter, only small compartments. Hanger coat hooks are available. You should go right away at 9, later it's a terrible traffic jam. You can't get to the island by water bus on weekends before 9:28 a.m. in summer. The train was great, you can speak different languages (the youngest child was scared, it was quite dark).

it was so fun! the small book themed houses were so fun to see! very nice place to visit with family. the story train ride was definitely the highlight. so much fun and had quite a lot of languages you could hear it in. there were so many details and it was very nostalgic and made me happy! the cafe was quite nice and everything looked so cute, prices were okay too! the interior design and detail was amazing. such a nice experience and definitely worth a visit💓

Great experience! I was surprised how big it is, especially the train ride. We were a bit concerned that the ride would be frightening for children, because of the dark theme of some of the stories, but it was no problem at all. The café is nice as well with fair prices.

Very exciting for kids given the type of attractions, though it makes even more sense if you’re a fan of (or even know about) the authors and books most of them are based on. The options for eating were a bit limited (only three dishes available, in adult or kid servings). The room for assembling stuff was quite original

An absolutely fantastic place to visit with smaller kids or even older ones (ours were 7 and 12) if they know and like Astrid Lindgren's books. We all loved it and had fun for a few hours. We really recommend it.

Absolutely top rating here. Brilliant place to visit. So many details everywhere. The adventure train was brilliant, we went on it 3 times. We easily spend 3 hours there. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended a visit here.

Our 6 year old had a great time. The rest of us were not super impressed. I think that if you speak Swedish, are familiar with the stories, and like standing while your kids play, this is a good place to go. There's a building space, one play space filled with standing adults, an indoor story train which was entertaining but would have been better if we were familiar with the stories, a small outdoor playground and a restaurant. The actors did a nice job with the theater production, but it was only in swedish and standing room only. Recommend for ages 1-5. It's definitely designed for very young kids

Two non-Swedish speakers with kids aged 1 and 3 here. Spent 5 hours effortlessly and probably could have spent an hour more if it hadn’t have closed. Not a huge amount of fun for the 1-year old, but a blast for the 3yo. Probably ideal for kids aged 3-6 or even older. Pippi play was still worth it, even though we couldn’t understand a word. I wouldn’t consider myself a devotee of Lindgren’s work, but I definitely came away with a newfound respect for everything she accomplished within and for children’s literature. Also, the restaurant was simply brilliant. Cardamom buns were nigh on perfect.

Really lovely train ride. Kids loved it all. Was a little expensive for its size overall though. And was super busy. I’d recommend it going on school holidays.

Nice place. Children's external playgrounds need conservation. The interior part is almost new.

The children liked it very much. It could have been longer. The train was too exciting for a 3-year-old. The restaurant was crowded, but a seat was found after a short wait. It would have been nice for someone with a milk allergy to have some suitable lunch food.

It's a lovely place for families, like an interactive playground for kids. One highlight is the story train. The story train is a very nice little ride which shows little stories about famous Swedish kids books. For families the 20€ entrance fee is kinda okay but for adults without kids it is not worth it.

Perfect spot for kids between 2 to 7 years of age. Junibacken is situated on Djurgården with walking distance to the famous Wasa Ship Museum. Most Swedish children storybooks and characters are represented with activities. Calculate with a minimum of 2h visit. If you have a baby stroller, please be prepared to leave it outside without any protection. You can rent a stroller lock at the establishment for 79:- SKr (expensive). Online Pre-booking is strongly recommended.

Such a fun place to go with children! Went with my 1,5 y/o nephew and he had so much fun. We also visited the restaurant and were pleased with all the options. Good to know: - Strollers need to stay outside. Good to bring a lock, but it was also possible to buy one at Junibacken - The Sagotåget was quite scary 😅

Indoor storybook gardens featuring well known Scandinavian stories and characters. A great place to come with young ones when the weather is poor. We have a yearly pass. We have a 2.5 year old and an infant and right now I find it really challenging as strollers are not allowed inside (due to fire code). My youngest cannot sit yet which means we can’t really go to the restaurant. I rely on a carrier which means I can’t really play with the older child either.

Junibacken is an excellent destination for families seeking entertainment. The establishment features a playroom, children’s theater, and an impressive diorama that showcases the universe of Astrid Lindgren. The craftsmanship is exceptional. However, the sound level increases exponentially with the number of children. This place can sound like a klaxon horn at the chalkboard factory during casual Friday.

Allerdings d definitiv kein Museum.

Wonderful place for small children. Mainly kids are between 1-4 years, but even my teenager enjoys visiting the place with his little brother. Everything is build carefully, and sagåtåg is brilliant (might be even scary).

Great activities for my 4.5 year old! The story train is amazing! Similar to rides in Disney World Florida. Not that big but plenty for a young child. Also helpful staff, including for English speakers. Recommended.

It’s a brilliant place to visit. The adventure train was really cute and funny, we went on it at least 3 times. The playhouse is also very cute, my brother had a great time there. We spent almost 4 hours there. I highly recommend that you visit at least once!

Really nice experience for children, love these children stories and books and to let your children see them in real life is Great. A bit too crowded in my opinion but it's kinda expected cause it's a popular place and it seems like they have good food aswell. Good views and close to the water and near other facillities. Good trip and would recommend to families

Kids had so much fun and this rather small looking building houses the best tour-train that i have ever been on. Brilliant. And you can go inside a vacuum cleaner.

  • 2/5 Sezen Y. 2 years ago on Google
I really couldn't understand what was this place before i saw it. It is basically a play ground that is constructed around different themes from Swedish child books. It is way too expensive for adults. You can only wait until your kid is done playing. It is also dirty. Kids lay around and everywhere needed a good vacuum cleaning and may be washing. It is very closed, no windows nothing so a bit depressing while you are waiting. Story train was good. Apart from that, i would prefer my kid to play outdoors instead of this dust. May be suitable for harsh Swedish winter i am not sure.

Just awesome! The rooms are so look alike for the stories and the train ride, this is just wow! If you haven't been there already, I deffinitely recommend!

A Stockholm classic with children! Our kid is almost 2 years old and had an amazing time. Inspite of the pandemic things were well organized and smooth. We will definitely come again

This was a hit! Really fun and games. And the story train. Wow! Don't miss that one! Fun for the children and fun for us the parents. Great stroller parking outside under a roof. Small lockers free of charge. Lovely toilets and an nice restaurant. A bit worn down at some areas but nothing big. Well worth a visit!

Super beautiful place to go with kids. Really beautiful to see Swedish classic books come to life. The theatre was great! Everything was clean and the bathrooms always neat. The train can be a little/pretty scary for kids. The staff is great. Is probably the best of the place. They are always nice. The bad part with this place is that you can’t take food with you and we went with our kids which have egg allergies and both kids menu had egg. Big fail. Hungry kids is never fun. The restaurant is not so good, unfortunately.

We went at Junibacken on a Saturday morning around 10 when the place wasn't crowded. It was perfect as we had enough time to do the tour of the attractions and board the Story Train also before the first big wave of visitors hit the place. After it got busy there weren't too much space for children or adults to move around. We loved the Story Train and the theater play - the train had the narrator's voice in multiple languages, the play was in Swedish and it had children who played the characters which made it even better for the young audience.

A wonderful palace both for parents and children!!! The train is fantastic! Also the house of Pippi is very cool and very well made. That's great that children can touch everything in the house after the play. Thank you!
