My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for our honeymoon. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, facing the sea where we had a wonderful breeze coming through. It was a bit warm without AC, but they brought us a fan that kept us comfortable at night. The bathroom was large. The lighting was fantastic. The bar was amazing and so was breakfast. I’m dreaming of the next time we can come back.

Spa is only for staying guests at the hotel and open at 6am - 10pm, pool's 15°c 59F. Since the spa is unmanned, I could book massage and other treatments through the hotel reception Breakfast's great and lovely staff as well. Bar staff is fabulous! Overall, it was a great hotel, good location, and friendly staff.

This hotel has some of the most efficient and friendly staff. From the front desk clerk to the restaurant servers. They make you feel that they are ready to serve you in the friendliest and efficient way. I wish all hotel staff are like them. Special mention to a restaurant staff named Robin (Thai). Look for this guy whose real name is bandit.

We stayed for 2 nights. This was one of my 5stats hotels that I stayed… and believe me I have good fair share of this kind. 📜 It is a historical hotel and have archeological details (for instance in the spa area they have a foot print on the hall that dates back to 1600E.C.) which I particularly found spectacular! 🧭 If you go to Stockholm as a tourist it has a great location! You are in right spot! 🍲The Food is amazing, very good breakfast and delicious food (we had dinner there and everything was so good!) 💁🏼🍷 Staff super friendly and cozy ambience. Absolutely good vibe! Fancy hotel but no snobby staff here. 🪷The spa area is very Hyggelit (cozy) it is small (with only 2 beds) but a very good cold pool/lake and a big sauna. Also had waters and fruit for your enjoyment. 🛏️ we stayed in the suite with sauna. I loved the decoration and the historical vibe. I enjoy very much that had flowers arrangements. Welcome bottle of water (sparkling and still) and chocolate bar. I also had to work one morning and the desk was just fine for it. Very good amenities and had all kind of drinks snacks. Also a very good Nespresso machine if you like coffee as much as I do 🤓 ⚠️Now just a few far warnings and the reason I don’t say it was my number 01: ❌ The rooms are not very sound proof. I had hear plugs and the room was faced into a narrow street and still could hear the morning traffic. ❌ The daily room service unfortunately was not good. They cleaned but not very well and they did not clean the cups that we had used the day before. ❌ They got cheap in some details. For instance I had a towel with holes on it! Maybe they are still recovering from pandemic economical crises. Otherwise I truly recommend and definitely will be back 🙂

Great location. Rooms comfortable but small. Has a small restaurant & bar in lobby but we did not partake of them. Staff personable & helpful. No AC but will supply fan if asked. Enjoyed our stay there. Lots to see in the area & walking was easy except for cobblestone streets. 😁

We had a delightful stay in our 4th floor corner sea view room. Fantastic location in Gamla Stan. Very nice room with lovely amenities: lots of windows with gorgeous views, chrome cast large tv, as well as luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was a real feast and the gym was great. We had 2 dinner meals in the restaurant also. Staff was extremely helpful and very professional. Will definitely stay here again when visiting beautiful Stockholm.

My wife and I visited Stockholm for the first time this weekend and were so lucky to have picked the Hotel Reisen. The staff are wonderful, the hotel is lovely and the view across the bay is spectacular!! We cannot wait to return. We enjoyed everything it had to offer the sauna and plunge pool were a very refreshing way to start the day, followed by a fabulous buffet breakfast. The staff could not have been nicer, thank you for a lovely 3 night stay.

I went in for a meal only and the bisque soup was yum yum especially the presentation at the table👌Then I had Swedish meatballs for main and that was soooo tasty, portion great and pickled veggie berries delightful😘Service was good

A truly fantastic hotel in Central Stockholm. Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast and the sauna/cold pool were an added bonus!

Great food and very accommodating to special orders/diets. The vegan alternative was one of the best I've had in a year or more, very refreshing to get something else than just grilled vegetables and sorbet. My colleagues were also very satisfied with their standard menu and the wine pairing for everything was excellent, which is not always the case at any type restaurant.

Loved the hotel located in the old city of Stockholm. Good to start any walking tour or taking ferries. Breakfast buffet has a wide range of options. The bar offered live jazz on Wednesday and Thursday during our stay. Gym is on the small side.

Excellent location - right on the waterfront. Walking distance to the Royal Palace and Old Town. My room was comfortable and clean. The service was excellent; the staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Stockton.

Classic, upscale hotel very centrally-located on Gamla Stan with terrific views of the waterway and easy biking access to most of Stockholm. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable, sauna and spa area is cute and calming. Would stay here again.

Location is excellent. Rooms are kinda old (e.g., no A/C, as is typical around here) and not particularly big (again, typical). Their restaurant is fantastic, though, and 100% recommend it.

Stayed here at the beginning of August- do not get a room facing alley- it was noisy around 2am the nights we stayed there. As a member of Hyatt, this hotel was disappointing . The toilet paper wasn’t restocked one of the days we stayed as well.

The reception was small for a grand hotel of this level. We had to wait for our queensize room 16 m2. So we decided to wait. No drink of the house will waiting. So we decided to have a drink outside. Nobody at the bar, So I looked for someone to serve us. Eventuality I found a nice person to help us pour a Cava. After our drink being outside for 20 minutes we received our key for our room on the 3th floor. Althought the room is small, its big enough for us. We could easily place our two handbagage ans stil walk around our room. The hotel is located in a nice part of the city. Lots of stores, restaurants and musea. Tomorrow we will let you know what the breakfast is like. Si the breakfast was excellent, everything was well prepaired and fresh. If one thing was almost finished they immediately replacement it by a new fresh plate. And the breakfast was until 11 am. Which is a long time yo have breakfast.

Lovely hotel in the perfect location on Gamla Stan - very central, making it easy to walk to any part of the city. The lobby, lounge, and relaxation room are very nice making us wish we had a bit more time to enjoy it all. There is a great bageri across the street, and many water taxis leave from docks near the hotel. The rooms are modernized and nicely decorated - only two complaints: the rooms are not equipped with AC, and the windows are extremely unique - small, low to the ground, and mostly facing another building, so the hotel has installed reflective panels in order to give everyone a view of the sea, it's innovative but unexpected. Otherwise our stay was great!

A nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are really nice, complete with everything you would expect to provide for a comfortable stay. Staff of friendly and helpful. Recommended.

I really cannot rave enough about this property -- the location in the Gamla Stan right at the seaside is optimal, the rooms are so well-appointed, well-designed/decorated in true Scandinavian fashion, and the hotel's team is beyond warm, welcoming, friendly, and I had zero to whinge about. The views from the king seaside-facing room are incredible, and I don't see myself staying anywhere else than this top and historic property on future visits to Stockholm.

  • 4/5 Michael B. 4 months ago on Google
Great location if you want to fully explore Gamla Stan on foot. No taxis can drive within its streets. Also at the water's edge and the boats, both tour and ferries, to must see sights of the Vasa Museum ( the preserved Viking ship), Gröna Lund (The Amusement Park), and the ABBA museum.

Expect 1 ply toilet paper. Booked for 2 nights in the most expensive room and 1 night in a cheaper room. I am a very frequent hyatt visitor so usually get the upgrade but the lady refused when we checked in which was sad as it's my birthday and our annaversery but still smiling. We went to use the sauna only to be told it's out of order and we're told we could pay for the room if we want a sauna. Edit: we canceled the expensive room and got a cheaper sauna room for the 3 nights but I'm extremely disappointed

5/5 The best hotel I have stayed at outside of an all inclusive. No joke, I will adapt future travels to Sweden to allow me to stay here. The sauna in our room was the best thing ever. I was a bit worried the sauna would be cheap and not very good, but I was very wrong. The cold plunge was so cool (literally and figuratively) being under ground built into the original walls of the city from the 1600s. The spa area down there is well done with its own sauna, showers, and loungers. The breakfast was great as well and we looked forward to it in the mornings. The hotel is in a great location in Gamla Stan. A bit far from the closest subway stop but still less than a 10 min walk and only a 5 min walk to a ferry stop. Long story short… bust Hyatt (or any brand) I have stayed at.

The hotel is really beautiful in a very good location next to the ocean. Staff was really friendly and the Spa area is really calm, you really should try it! But the hotel does not have AC and you feel that in hot summers day. Its not hot but not cold either. Also the sound insulation could be much better. We had a 4th floor room and we still heard all the garbage trucks etc from the alley 7am onwards like we would have our windows open. So light sleepers might consider that.

Nice hotel right at the center of Stockholm. Beautiful view of the inlet and ferries. Good bar, maybe needs some more specialised and rare spirits. 5-star Hotel should have better to offer. We did have an unexpected event by the maid, but that was taken care of by hotel management and we got compensation. All in all a stay worth taking, good beds and very close to old old town.

Hotel Reisen is a fabulous property located just by the riverside of Gamla Stan, the old town island of Stockholm. We were fortunate enough to attend their first-ever Saturday brunch, which was super complete in terms of entrees, sweets, and drinks. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a very good weekend stay here. Status was honored and we were able to check in our upgraded room very early. The hotel is beautiful designed and pleasing to the eye in all the public areas. The rooms on the other hand, especially the furniture didn’t continue this trend. Furniture felt cheap and flimsy. Plastic bathtub, a bedside table with fake drawer and a wobbly living room table are just some of the grapes i have to pick. Service was mixed as well. Breakfast, a highlight itself, was always very warm and friendly. But the rest of the staff seemed a bit off at times. When asked if i can have some leftover snacks from the bar to my room, i was presented with a tray. Not 5 star service. The gym was missing water, or cups for it, the sauna never really hot and gor some reason no shampoo/conditioner was provided in the shower. The entry category room is small and expensive compared to the competition. Breakfast and amenities on the other hand are excellent. Not sure what’s the target audience here. For business i would probably still go to the Hilton, for a staycation to The Diplomat. That being said, we had a good stay here, and i would absolutely recommend it. Location is great, and the overall quality is very present. Personally i am just not happy with the inconsistency in service and quality of the rooms.

Chic remodeled hotel in an excellent location, right next to a bus station and easy to call a Bolt from. I stayed here for 4 nights and it looks like under new Hyatt management the hotel has really been modernized while preserving its historic charm. The room was on the smaller side but very clean (and quiet, didn’t have any noise issues), and the one I stayed at had its own sauna, which was super cool. Speaking of, there is a sauna and plunge pool in the basement which was wonderful for a rejuvenation after surviving the cold temperatures outside. The breakfast buffet here, specifically the selection and quality of the spread, was amazing, totally worth the 250 kr (as the room rate I reserved did not come with it). Lastly I feel like the staff did a great job providing attentive service and they were quick to help out by email too. Highly recommend staying here. I’d like to come back just for the breakfast alone!

I stayed at the First Hotel Reisen for four nights in January 2022. The hotel is located super central, directly at the water front. The house has a new management for a few years and now is completely renovated. (Do not listen to creepy older reviews before or during the renovation process…) It now is a beautiful mixture of noble elegancy and modern coziness, with lots of stylish decorations and genuine old details. I even loved the inside of the elevator. :) I had a queen size bed single room that was spacious and comfy with a nice bathroom, sustainable details (like bamboo tooth brushes and a wooden key card, continuous bottles of Swedish organic care products, changing of towels and bedding all few days or if needed…), a minibar with mini fridge, a small table and arm chairs, a big smart tv, a cozy bed with feather free duvets+pillow on request. There is a small gym about that I can not say much because i didn`t have the urge to use it. ;) The wellness area offers everything you need after a long cold winter day outside: a spacious really hot finish sauna, a big 15°C cooling neck-deep swimming pool in an ancient vault, showers, bathrobes and towels and relaxation loungers. And a cozy piano bar for a good drink or two afterwards. ;) The breakfast buffet was really rich (with gluten and lactose free products) and very tasty and is offered until noon on weekends. Or even a bit later. ;) The service staff at the reception was always super welcoming, friendly, approachable and helpful with good recommendations for special restaurants. And if you come to Stockholm for nordic ice skating like I did, the general manager Tomas always knows some nice go-to-spots with currently good wild ice in the nature. Thank you so much to the team for the nice stay that I had! :)

It's a wonderful hotel. The men and women in the lobby are very warm and friendly, they are always patient to offer all help. There are plenty of breakfasts and a cozy bar, and the dinners here are also fine. The hotel has a GYM in the basement and a sauna lounge with a cold pool, which is free for every guest to use and is so relaxing. The hotel is in a very good location on the island in the old town, just outside the beautiful river and marina. If you're a walker, hike to all the hot spots and shopping centers in less than 30 minutes.

Very nice hotel with an excellent location close to Stockholm center and old part of the town- Gamla Stan. Very helpful personnel both in reception and restaurant. The room was a bit small but very nice and with a super nice view. Excellent food in the restaurant!

My daughter and I just returned from a wonderful week in Stockholm. Hotel Reisen was a wonderful jumping off point for our daily adventures and a great respite each evening. The breakfast room staff were so lovely and welcoming. The bartenders were friendly and fun to chat with. The concierge was helpful with questions and booking a taxi. Our room was spotless and comfortable with lovely amenities and a balcony overlooking the rooftops of Gamla Stan. I loved every minute of our stay.

We selected Hotel Reisen for our 2 day stay in Stockholm, and it was a fantastic choice. We got upgraded to a room on the seventh floor with a breath taking water view. The hotel's location in Gamla Stan (Old town) is fantastic. Short walk to all the shops, cafes, restaurants and museums you could want. We could not have been happier with the staff and amenities of this property.

Stayed here for five days in late May/early June 2022. Room with view of harbor (across the street) was beautiful. Room was typical size of European hotels (small) compared to American standards, but was plenty adequate and up-to-date. Lots of little extras - robe, slippers, umbrella, etc. We had breakfast each day and service and selection were above average. Plenty of breads and fruit, along with typical Scandinavian dishes. Lobby overlooked the street and was a great place to meet and get to know fellow guests. But the best part of this place was the desk clerks and the bartender. They could handle anything we asked, from printing documents to recommendations about things to do and see. Would definitely stay here again.

Big warning about sound that you can hear from the room, it is located very central in Stockholm next to a busy road and I can’t believe this hotel has no sound proofing… I stay in Stockholm a lot and this was my first time at the Reisen and will unfortunately be my last- you could hear everything outside and was a terrible nights sleep… the room wasn’t particularly clean either with hair on the shampoo bottles.. I would strongly recommend booking another hotel as the reception team didn’t seem bothered when I provided feedback- super disappointing as the other reviews seem positive on it… but trust me the sound is a huge issue and there are better hotels.

Perfect staff and the most wonderful spa! Please be reminded that the vaulted underground pool is quite cold and requires a visit to the really large sauna so warm up again. Some of the rooms have a sauna in the room suited for a maximum of two persons which is an opulent luxury not often seen anywhere! More than average breakfast! But the spa and the in-room sauna is really the deal! And the great, great staff!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Stockholm. Service was great and they let me hold my bags there while I explored more after checkout. A note is that the rooms might be a bit smaller than your typically hotel expectations. Probably bc it’s an old building. Also there is a step to get into the bathroom in your room which was confusing

Nice Christmas seafood buffet but not that special, it didn’t tasted that much. The sizes of the fish buffet was perfect and the dessert buffet as well. Think it was expensive for what you got. The service was good and nice staff. Rate a plateau better if you want to eat Seafood.

incredible location in Old Town or Gamla Stan - minutes walking to everything on the island. Staff is friendly and responsive. Spa is zen with cold plunge and sauna. Rooms are comfortable (would upgrade for a corner room w view of river) and bar/restaurant drinks food service A-/A+.

Visited for the New Year’s Eve. The location of the hotel is nice. The rooms are too small and there were multiple stains on the wall (bed side). The relaxation area was lovely, nice sauna. 2 stars as we were charged for someone’s New Year’s Eve table. We realized it back home. Had to call and send emails for the refund. The guy with the strong Slavic accent is quite rude.

Location is good room big enough. Bath room remodel. Only one small problem. Previous customer pee still there. Personal treatment like a handwriting note to welcome me with my name on it. Really sweet

Lovely hotel in the heart of Stockholm. The people that work there are extremely friendly and the hotel is spotless and clean. Rooms are fairly decent size (remember we are in Stockholm!), and the restrooms are updated. Plenty of places to eat around the hotel, and the hotel is also close to all the tourist locations. I will be going back for sure!

Currently staying here, visiting from the US, and felt I needed to review. The hotel is beautiful, but the staff is exceptional. Everyone has been very attentive from the check in staff to the restaurant and bar staff. Very friendly and have made this such a comfortable and cozy stay. It feels just like home. The food has been amazing as well from the meatballs to the chicken sandwich. Tried one of the best old fashions I’ve had in a long time. 10/10

I stayed here for over a week and was really pleased with the hotel and the staff. Everyone was very nice and always swilling to help. The daily breakfast is very good and provides a wide array of food for everyone. The views are beautiful and the location is really nice to walk to everywhere. They have a gym which is nice and you can exercise with weights or cardio which I enjoyed while being there. I would definitely recommend to stay here.
