The church is located near the Stockholm Opera and next to the Kungsträdgården park. The church is from the 17th century but has been gradually built up over time. The strong terracotta color in contrast to the copper rust colored roof caught my eye, and I became curious. The tall pillars, the altar, the characteristic stained glass windows, the pipe organ and the pulpit are among the most fascinating parts of the magnificent interior.

Lovely historically important church we happened to stumble upon. They have a small museum (but fascinating) displays section. We happened to stumble into it being that we were curious about the brick red color on the outside. Also check out the red sandstone door frames that are quite old. It still is an active church so staying respectfully quiet seems proper but they do let you walk around in your own way.

St. Jacob's Church has a central location in Kungsträdgården behind the opera - or is the opera in front of the church. Between these is a small square, the size of which is not quite enough for a mobile phone photographer. When it flows down from the square, it is on the side of the king's garden. We approached Jaakopp from the direction of Strömbron, and due to the street repair work, we had a detour when looking for the entrance to the opera house. The church is really old: construction started already in the 1580s. The construction work has been carried out very quickly and the church was completed in 1643. To a Finnish eye, the red church looks cheerful and the color lasts well over time. There is a lot of gilding inside - Finnish ascetic taste - but not as extravagant as in some Southern European Catholic shrines. There is a small history section in the front corner of the church, which the tourist is really grateful for. The people of Ruåtta are just idiots when there are no introductory texts in Finnish, even though the ships bring a lot of citizens from neighboring countries to get to know the joys of the capital. Not to mention our own Finnish-speaking population. (But that's why they're from Råtta: superficially friendly, but not heartily hospitable.) I think the nicest thing in the church was the angels: check out the decoration of the pulpit and the side doors. Aren't they cute too?

A beautiful church situated along park near seaside. I liked the strikingly orange red color which stands out amongst the surrounding. Inside the church, it has a beautiful organ and it's interior was well maintained. It's great for photo shooting due to its striking color.
