We were a group here last night to celebrate the new year. The place is very popular and attracts people of all ages. From here you can see over the roof ridges in the central and eastern parts of Stockholm. There is also a coffee here in case you want to eat or drink something. In the summers, people usually come for picnics. A place I visit quite often during the summer to rest a bit and clear my mind.

I think this is a suitable place to relax. At the top of the hill is a playground, an observatory with cafe activity, and seating with views of the Vasastan rooftop landscape. The lower part of the garden lies along Sveavägen and is dominated by a pond with rows of arrows along its sides. From the ridge slopes, landscape streams flow into the dam. At the end there is also a large open lawn which is appreciated for picnics. The lower part of the garden lies along Sveavägen and is dominated by a pond with rows of arrows along its sides. From the ridge slopes, landscape streams flow into the dam. At the end there is also a large open lawn which is appreciated for picnics. Behind the School of Business, Economics and Law is Obsans parklek. The game park has been around since the 1940's and is set in a building from the 18th century. Sigrid Fridman's The Centaur statue sits at the top of the most northeastern hill. The Linunden Observatory is clearly divided into two parts with different ideal styles. Top and top are classic landscaped gardens with large, free-growing trees and winding paths and narrow paths along the slopes to the top of Brunkebergsåsen. Below the ridge, between the City Library and the Business School, a functionalist style garden designed by architect Gunnar Asplund was built in the 1930s. This facility is dominated by a large pool and is characterized by simplicity and rare beauty.

Beatiful view of the city. We go sledding here when there's snow. Really steep slopes. Great fun. At the bottom of the hill close to Rådmansgatan there's a nice playground.

Despite it can be considered as an usual small park on a hill with nice views, this place is one of the most significant for me - atmospheric site, where I spent my last summer evening in Stockholm. What a warm lovely memories...

You can see the beautiful view of Stockholm city on top. Sometimes you can enjoy live music in the park. There is a cafe there on top and around this area is full of good bars and restaurangs.

Quite a bit of climb, but the view from here is amazing. Good place to just spend relaxing time. Highly recommended visiting this park/point

It is a cute elevated park behind the Stadsbiblioteket. A nice place to relax a bit after a whole day of studying in the library. Sitting place is numerous, children playground is available, cute little cafe is at the ready. But, maybe reconsider coming here on a windy day, it gets very windy because of the elevation.

We took our school kids on a trip to visit the observatorium as it was part of their project. They enjoyed it a lot and we were lucky enough to go in and see the telescope which was pretty amazing.

Neat cafe with a good view and tasty, simple food. Lots of benches and a flat lawn suitable for picnic on the observatory plateau just over roof top level, giving a good view of the city. Sun and shade at your choice.

It's a very nice park with a big area for skater and a rope-slide for children. Some nice benches for resting. It's next to the metro station and close to supermarkets and cafés.

  • 5/5 Lucas N. 1 year ago on Google
Super nice to take walks around there. I enjoyed so much to have a coffee in a bench having a conversation with a friend. I didn't go inside of the observatory but the park around is so beautiful. Specially on the top

Observatorielunden is a park in the Vasastaden district of Stockholm, Sweden. It stretches over the steep hill Observatoriekullen, one of the last remnants of Brunkebergsåsen, the esker that once reached across much of the district of Norrmalm but was mostly levelled during the development of that district. Observatorielunden is bordered by the streets Odengatan to the north, Sveavägen to the east, Kungstensgatan to the south, Drottninggatan to the southwest, and Norrtullsgatan, Sandåsgatan and Gyldéngatan to the west. The Old Stockholm Observatory, which dates from 1753, sits on top of the hill. Stockholm Public Library and the Stockholm School of Economics' main building lie at its edges. On the northeastern corner of the hill stands the bronze sculpture Kentauren from 1936 by Sigrid Fridman (1879-1963). At the Old Stockholm Observatory there's also a meteorological station which has measured temperature daily since 1756. This is the oldest continuous record of temperature in the world. The temperature is still measured daily there. A newer observatory was built in Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm and completed in 1931. In 1991 the Observatory Museum was opened to the public.

Gorgeous view. Good trashcans that separate plastic, paper, soda cans and stuff. Close to restaurants/fast food places so you can easily buy and bring stuff to eat and drink while you're there. There's a little climbing/play area which is good for small kids and there's a lot of benches. There's stairs but you can find your way up with wheelchair aswell ♿

Wonderful viewpoint. There are benches to rest. Some construction works restrict access only partly. It's the far end of the main shopping street Drottingatan (spelling?) or Queen's street. Cute kitty statue.

Nice little park going uphill. However, you can't enter the Observatory. You do get a nice view though, especially for sunset.

Nothing that special, only one place to view the city skyline. In summer the trees interrupt the view

  • 5/5 L. G. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful view of Stockholm all year, day and night. Also great for exercising adults, dogs and kids. There are 2 playgrounds.

  • 5/5 Ana V. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely park near the National Library and public transportation. In the middle of this park, uphill, lies the Observatory. The park also has a Cafe, a small dog park, a kids playground, public toilets and a famous Centaur statue by Sigrid Fridman. There's also a parking lot if you come by car, just know that parking within the centrum is not easy (nor cheap), so you're probably best using public transportation. This park is very nice, makes for a relaxing walk up to the Observatory and beautiful views of Stockholm.

Don't miss this summer café, Great food, but the location is everything, a hot summerday in the heart of Stockholm city like a secret garden. Shrimp sandwiches and the waffles swedish style is 100%.

Great views over the city. Always relatively quiet for being so central, feels like an underutilised resource in the heart of the city. Some nice cafés and restaurants within walking distance

Go for it!. Walkable distance from Odenplan and Radmansgatan metro stations. This small observation place will give a unique view of Stockholm city. You will get breeze air, nice view of the city. whats more?, you have Stockholm city library below the observation tower. During Autumn, it is really awesome to see the city through colourful leaves..

  • 5/5 Brenda Maytorena L. 6 months ago on Google

Beautiful park with large playground (restricted to local school students 0800-1700). Lots of construction currently. Disappointed to find that the observatory is now private and not open to the public, but there is (only one) sign exclaiming the history. Wonderful views of the city.

The oldest of Stockholms observatories, you can have some interesting views of the city. It is always worthy to have a walk on the rock-hill. While it is accessible to almost anyone in terms of how easy it is to get to the top, nevertheless possibly not the best idea during winter time when there is snow and ice, for those with impaired movability
