A beautiful, luxurious hotel, gorgeously decorated with a direct view of the bay. Our Junior suite was very large & exquisitely furnished with 3 large windows. Every hotel employee we interacted with was friendly & helpful & went out of their way to accommodate our wishes. I especially want to mention the concierge, Isak. He was superb, he exactly fulfilled our requests, made spot on suggestions & was pleasant & engaging. The bar was a wonderful place to have a quiet late night drink. Breakfast was adequate, the spa was amazing. I look forward to returning. We had a truly memorable stay.

And the afternoon tea at the Grand was as good as it can only be. Young and elegant waiters and waitresses, who almost seem to be cast in a special kind of luxury mold. The view was towards the castle. Low table, huge sofa. You have to speak loudly to hear each other. The food/cuties/small desserts were of course so perfect as it can get. But was it worth SEK 600? Honestly...no. I really enjoyed the time with my friends. But I honestly think that there are quieter, pleasantly nicer and just as good places elsewhere. Sure, if you want to feel rich, snobbish, like you've reached very far in your career, then you should visit Grand. But I don't have those needs. I prefer other things in life.

I loved staying at the Grand hotel. It is the grand daddy of hotels in Stockholm (pun intended). The rooms and common areas are elegant and updated. The staff provides wonderful service. I had a nice interior room with a spacious bathroom. And you can’t beat the location- a five to 10 minute walk to anywhere in downtown Stockholm. And the buffer breakfast is amazing- an opportunity to try many kinds of Swedish breads. The fitness center is also very good. One of the rooms in the gym is weights and the other is cardio.

This is an excellent place to stay in Stockholm. It is worth every penny. Their service is exceptional and hotel is better than many of the Ritz Carlton's. It is located close to great shopping, attractions and transportation. I will definitely go there again!

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and the deserts are delicious. Great view of the harbor and very close to many areas such as Gamla Stan, Gallarian, NK, and so much more. All within walking distance.

The standard two queen room is definitely larger than most hotels - bathroom was very big. Room was clean and modern. The pool is on the small side, but still good. Parking lot has ample spaces. No complaints... Definitely would come back

Hands down the best hotel in Stockholm. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are cozy. What I loved the most is the attention to the customer. The concierge team is great. Deserve a mention also the bar and it’s staff for the pleasant time they gift to us.

The Grand Hotel is an historic landmark not just in Stockholm but also amongst the oldest hotels of the world. Our stay generally was great. The hotel was built in 1874 but it has been kept up really well. Our room was very spacious and had a harbor view. It would have been nice to have one with a balcony (there are a few) or on an upper floor for the approximate ~$1,000 USD we paid per night. We had also booked the room 9 months in advance. The hotel staff, especially the concierge, were particularly friendly and helpful, even in advance of our arrival to help us plan a few things. Things that could be better (they are minor): when we checked in and walked to the bar to get a drink, we were told we had to call room service. Which wasn't the best service. My favorite hotels offer a glass of champagne at check-in, which would have a nice touch. Secondly, room service is 24 hours, but their liquor selection is very limited after 2:00 a.m. (obviously alcohol is important to us :) The other minor point is the bathroom had little tubes of toiletries in a wire basket mounted to the shower wall. They were awkward to use and store, and many had to be used over the course of a couple of showers as they were so small. The toiletries should have been larger or full sized, and mounted to the shower wall with a way to store your own toiletries on a shelf. Overall, I'd recommend staying at the Grand for the experience.

There is nothing I don't love about this hotel. Mostly, the service is just impeccable. Both efficient, polite and warm. The room service has been great, with attention to detail and high quality food. The pool and spa are beautiful, the gym is well equipped and the whole space is expansive and well considered. I could spend five days in Stockholm and never leave the hotel. Worth booking if you want to relax, eat well and maintain your health.

The hotel scene in Sweden is generally underwhelming but here for the first time, we experienced first class service and facilities. We've tried two other hotels in Stockholm (Lydmar and Bank) which are nice but not world class. Grand is what you expect from a real 5 star hotel. Reception, concierge, house keeping, bar and restaurant service, all were fantastic. Room have been refurbished fairly recently it seems, you still see traces of the old look in corridors but that's fine because it's the room that matters. Have no complains on this one (I usually do), it's a well run hotel, will stay here again when coming to Stockholm.

I have stayed in the Grand many times over the past few years. It is truly a classic hotel in all of the right ways....comfortable, great service, centrally located, and full of character. The best part, though, is the amazing gym and spa - truly one o a kind in Stockholm!

Booked a night here as a staycation and it exceeded all expectations! Extra special thanks to Hugo at the door who went out of his way to make sure I received a special box of their signature black tea during check out once he learned it was my birthday, and gave me an umbrella to make sure I got home okay once it started pouring rain! The spa was lovely and the room service was fantastic! Highly recommend ☺️

Our stay at the Grand Hôtel was the most memorable experience for my girlfriend and I. The Grand resonates with the invigorating exuberance of downtown Stockholm. It brings out the very best that Sweden has to offer. It is French opulence fused with Scandinavian practicality. The beds are in tip top condition and the rooms are spacious with high ceilings. Ideal for couples.

We've been here to celebrate our engagement day and it was superb. The building itself is soo beautiful. Also the receptionist upgrade us in a suite. The room, bathroom and living room were amazing. Also they have a spa with facilities for everyone. Small swimming pool in the changing area sauna and steam rooms. The main swimming pool was lovely and the lights and decor were gorgeous. Breakfast in the morning was my favourite. The white linen, the white colours on the wall, next to large windows and the beautiful view of the city. Was just amazing. Will definitely come back.

Just a fantastic hotel. Elegant and friendly service, amazing food (even surrounded by lovely restaurants, their food stands out!) excellent bar overlooking the water. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and luxurious. Not inexpensive, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Cannot wait to return.

Very disappointing. I booked the hotel to be able to rest at the pool after a day of visiting but actually, you have to pay an extra SEK 750 per person to enjoy the pool, even if you are a guest and you want to relax 45 minutes. It is ridiculous. They should indicate that as clearly as the fee you have to pay for breakfast when you book. If I knew, I wouldn’t have booked there.

Visited for dinner at the Veranda. Our waiter Robert was very informative and friendly. Gave us some useful recommendations for food and sight seeing for our visit. Food was tasty. Restaurant looks as good as the pics and the location is great.

Excellent service and attention to the customer. I was very happy with the upgrade I received thanks to the FHR programme. The room decor probably needs updating, but the spacious room and bathroom plus the amenities made the whole experience enjoyable and luxurious. The spa is gorgeous!

The Grand Hotel Stockholm remains one of my all-time favorite hotels. I booked the hotel (this was in April 2018) for my first trip to Sweden because I read that Noble Prize winners stayed there when they received their prize. I was not disappointed. It is a truly elegant and sumptuous hotel, right by the water, with incredibly friendly staff. I loved my breakfast in the morning. A group of Swedish Navy officers came to the hotel bar just to have drinks. Highly recommended.

Great location, Beautiful building by the bay, spacious top floor suit bedroom ideal for my boyfriend and me staying for a week, twice daily maid room service, beautiful interiors and comfortable beds, reliable wifi. Beautiful lobby area also with extra tables to relax/work. The hotel conference rooms were almost always busy with some day/night events.

If you are not travelling on a budget, this hotel is just perfect! The location, the facilities, the building, the staff, the beds; it is just amazing! One can always discuss the price and ig it is worth it, but if you want to pamper yourself to a once in a lifetime experience, this is the place to stay in Stockholm.

Very elegant and beautiful place to stay. Having a room here makes you feel like royalty with how beautiful the design is and how well the staff treats you. It really is a full experience in itself. Every staff member was so kind and helpful, but especially Bryan who went above and beyond in giving us recommendations and making us feel so welcome. Thank you Bryan!

Great service and amazing well furnished rooms with different styles. Been visiting grand hotel in Stockholm for a while now and every time if feels better than the previous visit. Amazing rooms to discover and you don’t need to do anything when you are at Stockholm more than enjoying the room and the services the hotel has to offer. An easy 5-stars.

I dined here twice at their beautiful restaurant. Service was excellent and very friendly. The menu is extremely average and resembles a high-end student café menu. Their hot chocolate was fantastic! On Christmas Eve, I had expected a festive menu and some special efforts to make dining more memorable.

This is a beautiful and ancient hotel in the heart of Stockholm. It is placed by the water and is very close to the Royal Castle and the Old Town. The interior and the rooms are superb. In addition, the service is top notch. A stay at this hotel is highly recommended. You will love it. We stayed one night. Lovely memory.

Very lavish and luxurious in a perfect location. Check-in was professional and friendly. This hotel is definitely pricey, but certainly well worth the experience. Rooms were as expected, clean nicely decorated and with bathrobes and necessary toiletries. The lobby was also as expected very “grand” and the bar / lounge area at the time of stay had live music which was wonderful to enjoy with a glass a wine. The overall ambience was upscale and very inviting. Memorable first impression of this very beautiful hotel. If possible select a room with a view.

A classic 5-star hotel with a long history. Well located, very nice and large parts of it recently renovated. As you might imagine, it’s quite a bit upscale and the friendly staff matches the style. That said, the customer base seems to be varied. Probably because it’s not that much more expensive to stay here, compared to any other nice hotel in the city. The room I got was pretty big and very nice, but lacked any kind of view. Bathroom was top notch, with both a bath and a separate shower. Breakfast, which unlike in most Swedish hotels wasn’t included, was offered in two version. Classic continental and a buffet. For the price (415SEK) it was well below expectations.

Historic hotel with view of royal palace and water. Very near to kungstragarden and few other ferry points. Must visit for food. Services also good for the same. Haven't stayed here but will plan something soon

This is the best hotel in Stockholm without question. A big problem however is that the gym/spa is not free anymore and you have to pre-book if you go. This was not the case before. This is absolutely not acceptable for a five-star hotel.

Awesome hotel! Amazing staff and the view is amazing! The big Christmas tree in the lobby was so beautiful!!

  • 5/5 Galya T. 1 year ago on Google
Very elegant hotel, with the most gorgeous view. The service is one of the best I’ve seen recently. House keeping always tidy your room to perfection.
What makes it even more special - they put their attention to so many little details. There is even a binoculars in the room and a map so you can do some sight spotting even from the room. The restaurant has this extensive collection of wines, that you’ll need an hour to fully go through the full wine list.

Had the most fabulous stay here. My friend and I chose the Lyxury Package which included a lovely breakfast buffet and access to their spa facilities: steam sauna, regular sauna, super cold pool, heated pool, hydrotherapy pool. We also had dinner at their bar/restaurant and the servers were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

Incredible location. Historic and elegant old-world charm. Wonderful service in the hotel, restaurants, bar and spa. The breakfast buffet on the veranda was incredible. Dinner in the bar was delicious, and the servers everywhere were young friendly, professional, and attentive. The room was spacious and well-appointed. Loved the in-room Nespresso coffee station and large bathroom.

Cannot beat the location or service at this hotel. They’ve thought of everything. From the spaciousness and quietness of the room to the quality of room service you are in for a treat. Especially enjoyed the exotic mixed cocktails in the Veranda and the Matbaren restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for the spa. The building is kept very nicely, but the staff is what makes this place special.

Wonderful place, super comfortable beds: spring mattress. The breakfast buffet was tasty and lavish. Their menu has aged sirloin steak with fries. Absolutely tasty! Very much enjoyed staying here

The hotel is beautiful and our room was very clean and well maintained. The service was even more exceptional. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, assisting me in printing over 160 pages of document smoothly and giving my mother a generous amount of paper clips when she asked for 20. The concierge also went above and beyond to help me send of some very urgent documents and updated me via email even after I have checked out. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries, always staying at the finest 5 star hotels but rarely have I been so touched by the service of a hotel, especially considering the fact that was my first time staying here. Highly recommend and will definitely be back again.
