The
Grand
Hotel
is
an
historic
landmark
not
just
in
Stockholm
but
also
amongst
the
oldest
hotels
of
the
world.
Our
stay
generally
was
great.
The
hotel
was
built
in
1874
but
it
has
been
kept
up
really
well.
Our
room
was
very
spacious
and
had
a
harbor
view.
It
would
have
been
nice
to
have
one
with
a
balcony
(there
are
a
few)
or
on
an
upper
floor
for
the
approximate
~$1,000
USD
we
paid
per
night.
We
had
also
booked
the
room
9
months
in
advance.
The
hotel
staff,
especially
the
concierge,
were
particularly
friendly
and
helpful,
even
in
advance
of
our
arrival
to
help
us
plan
a
few
things.
Things
that
could
be
better
(they
are
minor):
when
we
checked
in
and
walked
to
the
bar
to
get
a
drink,
we
were
told
we
had
to
call
room
service.
Which
wasn't
the
best
service.
My
favorite
hotels
offer
a
glass
of
champagne
at
check-in,
which
would
have
a
nice
touch.
Secondly,
room
service
is
24
hours,
but
their
liquor
selection
is
very
limited
after
2:00
a.m.
(obviously
alcohol
is
important
to
us
:)
The
other
minor
point
is
the
bathroom
had
little
tubes
of
toiletries
in
a
wire
basket
mounted
to
the
shower
wall.
They
were
awkward
to
use
and
store,
and
many
had
to
be
used
over
the
course
of
a
couple
of
showers
as
they
were
so
small.
The
toiletries
should
have
been
larger
or
full
sized,
and
mounted
to
the
shower
wall
with
a
way
to
store
your
own
toiletries
on
a
shelf.
Overall,
I'd
recommend
staying
at
the
Grand
for
the
experience.
