Booked via booking. My credit cards were rejected and they refused I pay with bank transfer. Not friendly and bad customer service. I booked another hotel, still with Booking and same credit card and all was fine.

They did not accommodate my request for a late check-in, despite my prior notification. I had booked a bunk bed and informed them that my flight would arrive in Stockholm around 12:00 AM, with an expected arrival at the hotel by 2:00 AM. Unfortunately, they strictly adhered to their policy and refused any exceptions, suggesting an 8:00 AM arrival instead. This lack of flexibility disrupted my plans, and it would have been helpful if their strict policies were clearly communicated to guests during the booking process to avoid such inconveniences.

I really loved the place. Great location. Clean. Nice staff. Quiet and beautiful. Nice breakfast arrangements. However, the reason I don't give 5 start is opening hours of reception. I can understand why it's not 24/7, but there is no information on opening hours, and we ended up in distress when we needed a taxi and found out reception was already closed at 16:00 on Sunday.

A very nicely designed hotel that looked old and historical from outside but was like a 5 star hotel from inside. Rooms were very spacious, neat and clean. Side view of the street from the window was spectacular. Extraordinary service and receptionist was very friendly. Every thing was at walking distance that is old town and new town. I would definitely like to come back again.

What is shown online isn't exactly what is obtainable. When viewing online, it wasn't made clear that the room is separate from the toilet until after booking. That aside, the toilet and shower room is distant from some of the rooms which is very inconvenient. No slipas nor shower gels are available for the toilet/shower room like other normal hotels do. The price isn't cheap for such oversight in service delivery. The beds in the room are quite small and uncomfortable. The customer service needs improvement. Only good thing I noticed is that they're highly safety/security conscious

We booked this hotel and let them know we will arrive at 2AM (plane lands at 00:40AM). And their answer was: “You can not check in after 23:00.” 0 resolutive, terrible customer service! Now we are afraid that by booking this hotel we will have to sleep in the street. There are many ways of implementing automatic check in, come on!

Very well located in the old town district of Stockholm, Castle House Inn is not only a very charismatic place but beyond that offers perfectly furnished rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful plus there is a lot of information material for tourists available at the reception. Bathrooms and showers have to be shared with the other guests on the floor. Nevertheless, they were always super clean and tidy. Only pain point was the AC which unfortunately couldn't been turned off in our room. Still, a highly recommendable place to stay!

Awesome place to stay while visiting Stockholm! Great walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The room had plenty of charging outlets. The shared bathroom was always clean, & the hotel feels very safe as there are key-card doors on each floor that provide extra security. The Wifi works great. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a splendid location without paying for the extra bells & whistles. (They also have bag storage which is great if your flight arrives early in the morning!)

Basic accommodation in a fantastic location. Shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Room cleaning was on request. Beds were comfortable enough but nothing to write home about. Check in and out was fast and simple. A good place if you want a great location and aren't planning on staying at the hotel for long!

I would highly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for a centrally located place to rest your heads after a long day of touring. Although it doesn’t offer many extras (breakfast, bar, hangout area etc) it was clean and offered a large room for four people and was in walking distance to all that there is to do in Stockholm.

Good location. Kind and helpful staff. Room was spacious and well designed. Using the shared bathroom was not comfortable but it was clean all the time. We could not close the windows causing noise from the street. The door of the room also not easily shut. Overall good price for the value but it needs a little maintenance.

Highly recommend this place. It was cheap for its location, clean(ignore me messing up the pictures), and surprisingly spacious for a European room. If you prefer warm rooms you can definitely get it toasty, however, we preferred it cooler so we left the windows open. One downside were the window curtains blocked no light, so if you are recovering from jet lag or trying to sleep in good luck.

Amazing price for the location, but quite lacking in what it provides. The shared showers and toilets were all clean but the rooms were very minimally decorated, didn't even have a cupboard for clothes and you need to ask reception for most items like towels, slippers or a kettle. The reception also has very inconsistent hours and doesn't have set hours. More of a motel than a hotel.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and perfectly central location! Only downside was the lack of a kettle in the room to boil water and shared toilet, but it was well worth staying. I highly recommend staying here if you are travelling to Sweden on a budget!

The location is perfect, downtown, lots of good restaurants and cafes near by. The rooms are very small, but clean, the cleaning service is very good if you ask for it. Rooms don’t have a bathroom or any sort of water (not even a sink) and it is at some extent inconvenient. Some of the shower cabins are pretty dated and has an unpleasant odor. But water is running and they do a good job keeping them clean. Also there is no cafe or restaurant in this hotel, no breakfast (they do provide something like tea and cookies and maybe you can buy some yogurt) no dinner. It is our third stay here because we love the location of the old town.

Great value stay in the heart of the Old Town of Stockholm. The bathrooms and toilets are shared but they were always very clean. Although it is located in the city center, it is in a quiet street so sleeping well wasn't a problem. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling on a budget and who doesn't mind using shared bathrooms. The staff is also very kind!

Probably the worst experience in my life . The result, i left with nothing in return without spending the night. Dirty rooms, 1 bathroom on an entire level. Black mold in the shower? Should not be listed as a hotel to more than a overly priced hostel. Can not be more warning than to say that choose another and spare the entire trip. Aslo if you have any problems and try talking to the staff no one can understand you nor you them in either English or Swedish. Picture from the mold in the shower below.

The rooms were very cold in late September, as there was no heating. There is no community kitchen or lobby, which could add a lot to your comfort. The bathroom is very clean, and it was convenient to use. The hostel is a great value for price if you only stay at your accommodation for sleeping.

I love hotels with fast check-in Check-out processes, this is something I value a lot. This ones was very well located, had a nice smell, clean bathrooms, in a quiet street, therefore quiet bedroom too, but with lots of restaurants in the area. It was a nice surprise. Shared bathroom was super clean.

The hotel was very affordable, safe and clean, But if I had to pick the best about this hotel, it'd would be the outstanding customer service received by Miss Liia. It was our first time in Sweden, and Miss Liia kindly helped us with some addresses we needed help with, making sure we feel like we were at home. I would definitely recommend it and go back there.

All was perfect... Second time that I stay in this hotel and was perfect like the first time... Location is 10/10, not noisy, the bathrooms are shared but very clean.... Thanks for all!

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms. Shared bathrooms were also very clean! Would recommend if you’re visiting Stockholm.

  • 5/5 Bas R. 9 months ago on Google
Good hotel. Shared bathrooms not ideal, but quite often seen in Stockholm. Other guests were really not in the mood for a “good morning” or small talk, which I found quite strange, especially for shared bathrooms.

The bare minimum. Toilets and showers in corridor. No extras. Central location. Make sure you know what you're booking!

Clean and proper! The front desk is not continously open. When checking in at 2100 it was tricky to get in. Once inside, everything was prepared.

Great location and starting off point to anywhere in the city. Right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. Rooms were good and shared bathrooms but usually that wasn't an issue. Note to Management though .....put a shelf of some sort in each bathroom. Not much room to but your toiletries while getting ready. BRING SOAP none in the showers. Recommended place to stay.

Well located in the old town. Shared bathrooms were big and clean. The 2 single beds were placed in a way that one had to climb over the first bed to reach the other bed near the window.

Way too expensive for what you get! The pictures look nothing like our room! Very tiny room, now I understand how 10y old Harry Potter must have felt. We woke up claustrophobic! The room was worn out. Staff couldn't help us and came up with lame excuses about everything being fully booked. !!!Firehazard!!! Only one charging outlet which had lots of powerstrips in it behind the beds. Sure the hotel isn't up to safetycode. Stay away!

I booked a room with them, and they kept cancelling the booking because of false claims that all my credit cards don't work. THey probably didn't book for the fare that they were looking for. Extremely unprofessional service and also considering they cancelled 4 days before our stay. I will avoid in the future.

Beds were comfortable and you have 2 pillows to choose from. Rooms and other facilities were clean and nice. You can buy drinks and snacks in reception during office hours. We came after reception was closed, but checking-in was easy and effortless.

We stayed for three days. Location is great, overall very clean and kind employees! Highly recommended.

This hotel put two adults with luggage into a constricted single room. Most claustrophobic experience in my life. Though a room change was made on request, the mistake was beyond redemption. Also, it has no water kettle, and the curtains dont cover the window completely. I’m sorry to say contrary to most others in the comment section, I don’t enjoy my stay there.

Great place right in the middle of the old town. Everything is within walkable distance and while a bit more expensive than I normally book (it's Sweden after all), great value for money. Friendly staff and easy check in/check out.

This is a great place to stay when in Stockholm. I had been reserved before we arrived as I had never used shared bathrooms. But what a surprise, everything was perfect. Bathrooms were many and so clean, there is no need to worry. The room was small but just sufficient. TV channels did not work, but we didn't need them so we did not even bother to ask. I bet they work somehow. The only thing you definitely need to bring are slippers for the bathroom. There are some hangers and hairdryer in the room. We brought our own small cattle but you can find hot water next to the reception. Lovely building and exceptionally clean. Loved it. The fact that you are in the heart of the Gamlastan speaks for itself. You don't need to pay for the transport at all.

Amazing service, nice and clean rooms and everything else, affordable price and basic necessities are all there. Located in the city centre, close to a lot of places. Definitely recommend.

Centrally located in Gamla Stan island of Stockholm. It's walkable to everything, about 8 minutes walk from subway station. The building is nice. The accommodation is clean and really quiet. There are tons of nice restaurants around the place. The receptionist can advise to visit one of the greatest. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Excellent location and rooms and bathrooms are all very clean and comfortable. Reception is only available sometimes, however, which is challenging sometimes. Not a hostel, just a hotel with dorm rooms, so there is no common area or kitchen.

Overall our stay was pretty good. We knew going in that it was a cheaper hotel and our expectations were low. The room itself was quite large and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Our only complaint, room wise, is that when we went to use the microwave and fridge in the room - neither were working. When I asked about this we were told they are “decorative” and not meant to work. Honestly if we were told that upfront it probably wouldn’t have been a problem, but knowing we had a fridge we thought it would be great to store items to take out with us for lunch the next day. We had to throw it all out the next day when we realized the fridge didn’t work. Location wise the hotel is ok. Old town is beautiful, but very much a tourist area. If that it what you are looking for - this is a great place. It is cheap and fairly close to transport and central if you’re planning to walk everywhere. The shared bathrooms were really clean. We liked that the doors to the hallways closed at night and could only be accessed with a key card, it felt very secure. We likely will not be staying here again - mainly because we would prefer a less tourist-y area but also because the microwave/fridge situation was so ridiculous and just not worth dealing with again.

If you're travelling to Stockholm for a few days and are looking for a cheap but nice option in the historical centre then I'd say this is a perfect place. I was scared of the bathrooms that aren't part of the rooms but was very pleasantly surprised as you had just had multiple typical hotel bathrooms in the hallway where you could just lock yourself in, so it was absolutely private. I also have to commend the staff for the nice communication, I had some issues after the reservation and everything was sorted out smoothly.
