A great and large gardens that is free to the public! We loved looking at the vegetable and fruit garden that the restaurant uses for its meals, and the large green house that has its own fishes! It was a shame that the largest green house was closed during our visit, but would highly recommend the place as a lovely 1-4 hour trip!

I love this place! The numerous plant species that adorn this place make it unique and beautiful. In addition to many places to relax, one can also find a place for a picnic or a quick swim in the fresh water. I suggest coming with a snack bag and a blanket because you could spend the whole day here. The whole park is free of charge, only entrances to botanical houses are charged.

I had a wonderful experience at the botanical garden, nestled in a green area to the north of the city. The entrance fee is nominal, and it’s definitely worth it. They provide lockers for your belongings before you embark on the tour; I highly recommend using them as it gets quite warm inside. The plants are impeccably maintained and organized based on their geographical regions. If you have the opportunity, explore the surrounding areas as well; it’s absolutely worth it. The peaceful atmosphere and the well-cared-for plants make it a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Such a beautiful place to visit during the summer. It's definitely worth exploring the entire area and making sure to take your time. Entrance to the smaller greenhouse is 20kr and it's worth seeing. Cafe is at the entrance, but it was a bit too crowded. Parking available. Would return 10/10

Magnificent views and perfect walking location!! Went for the lilies but sadly missed out on the opportunity to see them as it was already closed. Nevertheless, the place is a mist visit, you can also walk around the area and explore more of the lake.

I absolutely love Bergianska Trädgården. It is very beautiful. A large park, mostly free! It cost to enter the green houses but the rest is free. Bring your fika and have a picnic here!

The botanical garden is always such a treat to visit, especially if you have children. The vegetable patch with kale, Swiss chard, leek, tomatoes and different herbs is interesting to see as well as the water lily ponds and the orchard not to mention all the flowers.

The greenhouse really makes for a lovely escape during a cold, wintery day. Lots of interesting plants and flowers to walk around and look at! The nearby cafe/restaurant Gamla Orangeriet is good with plenty of options, while the cafe inside the greenhouse is quite a bit smaller with a limited selection.

They have a paid large indoor building you can visit, and other areas are free. I mainly walked around the outside and to a smaller building. There are different themes outdoor like Italian, Japanese etc. It is a great place for picnic, taking walks, and photography. Wear comfortable shoes and if it rains, wear mud proof shoes. I saw some girls wearing high heel sandals for dates and that did not look comfortable since the outdoor area is pretty big.

I recently had the pleasure of exploring the breathtaking garden, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! Nestled in the heart of nature, this garden offered a serene and immersive experience that left me feeling rejuvenated and connected to the beauty of the outdoors. From the moment I stepped foot into the garden, I was greeted by a symphony of vibrant colors and intoxicating scents. The meticulously curated landscape showcased a diverse range of flora, from exotic flowers to towering trees, creating a harmonious tapestry that was a feast for the senses. One of the highlights of my visit was the well-maintained pathways that meandered through various sections of the garden. Each path led to a new discovery, whether it was a charming little pond teeming with colorful fish or a hidden alcove adorned with delicate sculptures. The attention to detail and the seamless integration of nature and art truly elevated the overall experience

A nice place to visit to get away from the city center, well looked after and pretty interesting place to visit, more so if you're into your plant life and greenery. Easy to lose a few hours at, also lovely if you just want to go for a walk.

Beautiful place very close to the history museum, so if you get a chance to visit both places, then just do it. We went on a guided tour and it was sooo worth it. The guide was knowledgeable and we got to see thing you don't see ordinarily! Take a fika in the restaurant down stairs, or visit Cosminova cinema with it's huge movie screen.

I just went to everything free. I saw water lilies through the window. That was enough for me instead of paying 200 kroner to see them from the other side of the glass. A well-kept garden and lots of different plants.

This is a fabulous place to spend an entire day with family and friends. It is a huge theme based garden and though we were there for about 3 hours, could hardly see half of it. Seasonal flowers are exceptional and the painstaking effort taken to catalog each and every plant, is worthy of praise. One fees extremely happy and relaxed in this environment. The climb to the top of a hill is nice and one gets a birds-eye view of the surrounding city. A must-visit place.

A magnificent garden, perfect to take a walk or have a picnic and look at beautiful plants!! Very versatile variety of plants and incredible greenhouses. All the flowers, bushes, trees etc. are labelled, so it is also quite informative. Also, there a quite a few benches, opportunities to sit down and trees for shadow! There are also e few buildings that can be explored, which are also labelled and have a description. Since there are a lot of different paths, there are signs doe direction everywhere. Be aware: the greenhouses are closed on monday:)

Nice and peaceful place for a walk. The ones who love flowers and plants will like it. There are plants for all over the world and small signs that explain what they are. It is worth visiting for a relaxing walk! Many places have nice view and beautiful colours around!

Really nice botanical garden close to the university and national history museum. Variety of plants from all over the world and a nice place to take a long relaxing walk near the water but also enjoy your "fika" in the Gamla Orangeriet café. Be aware.. it's usually packed during the sunny days and the que to grab a coffee can be quite long!

A serene place for just a walk or to visit the museum. Not too crowded when I was there during a weekend.

  • 5/5 Anna A. 2 years ago on Google
Vast and peaceful gardens although well visited now in the summer. The restaurant Orangeriet is very nice; they have beer, wine and cake, sandwiches and main courses. There is a large outdoor seating areas suitable for families and people on their own. Nice views and a lot to see here.

It worth to visit many times to get in touch with plants from different places in the world. I liked the Mediterranean plants especially the Jasmine. The smell returned the memories.

(Translated by Google) Very cozy, however quite a lot of outdated plant names and the signs have the plants covered. Pests a bit everywhere, you could not ask anyone about the name of the plants that lacked a sign. (Original) Väldigt mysigt, dock ganska mycket ouppdaterade växtnamn och skyltarna har växterna täckt. Skadedjur lite överallt, man kunde inte fråga någon om namnet på växterna som saknade skylt.

Interesting garden under a roof. It is worth a visit. You can also buy soft drinks and coffee.

A lovely place and very much worth the visit. You can easily spend a day there. The outside garden area is for free with varieties of beautiful plants. There're a lot of sitting bench etc provided so you can enjoy your picnic outside if you like, you can easily find a spot with a lake view. The greenhouse requires an entrance fee which is totally worthy as it is well maintained. Only give 4 star because of the restaurant gamla orangeriet, we ordered a fish soup and a risotto. The price is above the price in the city but the food is very mediocre. As can be seen the pictures, the fish soup contains about 50% of potatoes, and the taste is very bland. Perhaps their dessert is lovely which i didn't try. I will definitely return to the trädgården but perhaps not it's restaurant.

The Bergianska trädgården, the Bergian Garden or Hortus Bergianus, is a botanical garden located in the Frescati area on the outskirts of Stockholm, close to the Swedish Museum of Natural History and the main campus of Stockholm University. The director of the garden is known as Professor Bergianus.

The botanical garden itself may be extremely interesting to only people who are plant enthusiasts. the entree fee here was 80kr. But the park around it , is a really nice place for picnic or a stroll by the water

It was a wonderful experience and a nice environment. You could really feel the humidity from the plants. It was a nice experience for nature and plant lovers. There was also a large garden outside with some walking paths that was for free. The only thing that was less good was that it was a bit too expensive 😕.

You arrive in a lovely wild meadow and then come across the excellent collection of buildings that make up the botanical gardens. It's worth paying to go in so you can see the various sections including a palm house and country themed sections (Australia, California etc.). Worth a trip out of Stockholm on the metro to spend a morning or day wandering around

Very beautiful and big botanical garden. The herb section is amazing, also the berry garden was lovely. Very good cafeteria with great food. Take at least 3 hours to explore, and if you can do it, also visit the Natural History Museum across the street.

Very nice place for summer walks. Bring some food or visit the excellent Cafe and get a fresh sandwich and an ice coffee. The entrance is free.

  • 3/5 Eleiyas 3 years ago on Google
Could be a very nice visit during summer, or when the weather is nice, but for us, during winter, it was quite bland, with not much to see. The "greenhouse" with the giant lily pads was shut for the winter season, so we could only browse the allotment-style gardens and the "tropical house", which took us about 20 minutes to walk around (without including time to take pictures). It was quite a trek to get here on public transport and was ultimately disappointing. At least the Natural History Museum is across the road to make the visit a bit more worthwhile. (Might add more photos later when I've taken them off my Mirrorless).

Must visit place!!! Discover lot of flowers, plants, vegetables, shrubs and many other flora and fauna. You shall love a walk down the different garden sections. Also, the colorful flowers shall throw you into different mesmerizing surroundings. Enjoy a walk around the lake with cool breeze passing around. Place is well connected from different places of Stockholm. Best time to visit is start of summer. Don't miss the Lotus ponds and related attractions and vegetable garden.
