When you hear Stockholm and University you typically think of a progressive city and educated people. And yet SU has systematically shown me that it is neither of things. The politics that run the University are abysmal and the fact that the faculty can admit to there being discrimination against a student but at the same time not make any effort to rectify such a act is horrifying.

Stockholm University is one of the best universities in the world. My experience at the university as an international master's student is great because I get to meet friends from diverse cultures and I learned so many things through my friends about their cultures. There is quality teaching and the Professors strongly prepared the student for the best in research, creativity, and others. There are so many student union activities for socializing and for building connections for future job opportunities for students. The University is very environmentally friendly. The campus is beautiful.

Spent over 5 years. Nice place and good surroundings. BUT have witnessed several incidents where things seemed shady, which cast a dark cloud on how the system is setup - in terms of selections for doctoral, postdoctoral students and even faculty. That's because I am against cronyism in academia. Its a pest and will end up killing merit. It gets tougher to move higher up in the ladder for non-EU folks.

Nice campus, engaging lecture halls, easy to contact lecturers. Images of the main, frescati and filmhuset campuses.

I would not recommend the Housing Office service to anyone. I am going to state my case as I wrote it in a complaint letter to the SU (which, by the way, has been replied by the own Housing Office instead by the SU administration) so anyone can read it and be aware about this. I was a guest researcher at Stockholm University during three months. After cleaning my room and returning the keys, I came back home. One week later, I received an email from the Housing office about an extra invoice regarding a cleaning fee, with the amount of 1365 SEK. When asked why that large amount of money, when I had cleaned my room properly, they replied me with a series of pictures of the room taken by the inspection service. The pictures showed minor dirtiness (some dust) that could be cleaned in 15 minutes so the fee was completely disproportionate. I asked them to reconsider the fee. However, they replied me that it was a fixed cost and it cannot be lowered. I feel as I have been scammed by a public institution. If I have to search for accommodation again in Stockholm, I would look for it in SSSB or other webpages.

The department of Natural Sciences at this institution is truly a slice above the rest. I have experience in Australian higher education institutions and the online distance learning in English at Stockholm University is exceptionally organised and conducted. The self-paced learning environment suits my self-directed learning style, and the feedback is comprehensive and direct (so you can use it to amend weaknesses and gaps in theoretical understanding). Additionally, this institution understands equity. I have a long-standing disability and was able to secure adjustments through their system with relative ease, reducing anxiety, and ultimately meeting a tangible equitable standard, unlike lots of other institutions whom virtue signal.

I study the distance geology programme and have absolutely loved it. The excursions are fun, I can study at my own pace from abroad and always receive a quick response.

Awful. Unclear feedback and no tutoring/ study help. If I do not understand instructions of an assignment and ask the lecturer to clarify, then the lecturer just repeats the instructions of the assignment (which I do not understand).

Only been studying for half a year. The best thing is the teachers. They are inspiring and helpful. The classrooms are of varying quality. Some had problem with the mics and projectors, some have awful tables and some rooms are perfect. The library is big and has lot of places to study. Didn't like that you had to pay to print papers. The interior is good, clean and some arts here and there. But the exterior is quite boring. There are several restaurants and some bookstores on campus. Great services! There is some party student life att campus. Maybe not as much as at some other universities. But enough to satisfy me anyway! Overall like the experience.

Great place to study! You can choose between the student house, the library or the main houses. It is easy to access through the tube and by bus. A plethora of education programs and fraternities is in place as well.
