Just for reference, I am American and this was my first time in Stockholm. I was so impressed with this hotel. I stayed 4 nights at Hotel Ruth at the end of January. The location is really great, and both my partner and I found the city extremely walkable from this location. The museum area of town is a 30 - 40 minutes walk, but honestly you wouldn't even notice. And if you aren't able to walk much, there's a bus for really cheap that takes you right there. Nearby there's a great coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, etc... The receptionists made amazing recommendations for us and were just genuinely amazing people. The room was really well put together. There have clearly been upgrades and remodels in the past few years because it was really cozy and perfect. The complimentary breakfast is one of the highlights for sure. This is one of the best breakfast experiences I've ever had, and it's included in your stay! My partner and I cannot wait to visit Stockholm again. Hotel Ruth has spoiled us, and we want to stay there again and again.

Very cozy little hotell in the center. Everything is just a walk away. All of us really enjoyed the breakfast buffee. Best regards to barmen who was working these evenings and made good cocktails from different Estonian spirits :)

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Ruth. The staff, from the lady at breakfast to the nightaudior, is very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are all individual, super stylish and bright and the bed is another league of comfortable. Loved the little details in the room Its all very well thought through. The Bar area is always busy with a good vibe and perfect for a drink before dinner. Food in the Restaurant is of high quality in the morning for breakfast as well as for Dinner and service is outstanding. The Hotel to go when you are in Stockholm!

Nice hotel in a good area. The other reviews are not wrong about the breakfast, it's really something special.

Very cozy and beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast and location. The bathroom of the room was quite worn out, some refreshning and better lightning were needed.

Celebrated a fantastic birthday using Hotel Ruth as a base. Found the staff incredibly helpful (from what I understand, it is a family run business). The breakfast was outstanding.. A mix of traditional Swedish and continental..

Tolles kleines Hotel.

Komme gerne wieder! :)

Wir haben drei NĂ€chte in der 4. Etage wunderbar geschlafen. Nichts von den anderen GĂ€sten gehört. Die Angestellten sind alle supernett. Das FrĂŒhstĂŒck außerordentlich gut und vielseitig. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. 100% Empfehlung

The beds are great. Slept like a king. Breakfast is also super nice. Other than that, this is an average Best Western standard hotel.nothing fancy or luxurious

We just had an overnight stay at Hotel Ruth and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, the room was gorgeous and comfortably furnished, and the breakfast had outstanding variety and quality. If you’re coming from the US (or other warm climates) note that they’re no AC or ceiling fans. You can open the windows to help regulate the temperature during warmer months (it was ~68 F for the high when we here in June). Also, there’s a bit more noise that makes it in from the outside than other hotels we’ve stayed at. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to book this again the next time we’re in Stockholm.

This is absolutely one of the best hotels I have stayed at. From the moment you arrive they make you feel totally at home. I'm American and their English is far better than mine. The breakfast is one of the highlights of the stay. It has a wide selection and is all you can eat. We had dinner at the restaurant one night. They bring it from the crape restaurant across the street. They are outstanding and creative. The service again made the night for us. The location is very convenient to public transport but you can also walk. The room was well decorated and good size. The bath is a little small with only a shower. We didn't spend much time in the room, but when we were there the internet was very good and we could cast our favorite shows from home. We will definitely come back if we are in Stockholm again.

Very pleasant hotel with superb breakfast and kind staff. Perfect location, as it is well connected by public transport and there are supermarkets and restaurants in the area. Beds a bit too soft and if you’re staying on the first floor, you may hear the bar a bit if you’re above it (until 11:30 pm or so), but otherwise we loved it and would return for sure.

Third time returning to Hotel Ruth, a favoured hotel in Stockholm. Can't fault the location - so many lovely restaurants and bars to enjoy nearby. My room was fantastic with lots of space and a big bathroom. There wasn't built in air con, however there were fans in the room to make up for it. This has to be the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel - huge choice of fresh and prepared options. The star of the show!

We had a lovely stay at hotel Ruth. Staff were lovely, it was very clean and our room (standard double) was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was great, a powerful shower with plenty of temperature range. The breakfast was amazing - pretty much everything you could ever want. Only small surprise for us was that there was no tea/coffee in the bedroom, however the lobby/lounge was so lovely and you can have them there. This is the first hotel where I’ve wanted to hang out in the lobby. It is about a ten minute walk from the nearest metro stops, and about five minutes to bus stops.

Staff and breakfasts were so amazing, 5 stars! However, the rooms did not have a dresser. Bathroom was small. Floors were somewhat hard (no carpet, maybe a Scandic thing). Location: was alright, it was manageable. The airport express train is about a 10 minute walk to the Subway at Stockholm Central Station and is ~$20 pp, and the Subway is another 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and is ~$4pp. If you're two people it will come to ~$50, so Uber can can be roughly same to the train.

Unforgettable stay in Ruth over the weekend. Breakfast, the rooms, and atmosphere are amazing thanks to the great staff. The restaurant was delicious and the place to be in town for food and great cocktails. Will be back!

Nice staff but think that the breakfast was too stingy with the selection. In the room, you could see into the bathroom through the shaded windows. No fun taking a shower when someone can see

Not great. Really bad food. Ended up wasting more than half the food we ordered. Decent drinks. Extremely bad service. Like literally bad. Although I have limited experience in Stockholm but never seen incorrectly pricing in the bill !!! This is so not Swedish culture, at least what I am use to believing.

Overall good. Breakfast is very good. Soundproofing of the rooms needs to be improved. The room is largely clea but the floor under the bed is not clean (full of dust - could affect people having dust alergy).

Great customer service! Located in a very accesible area. Breakfast is really good. The bar is nice. Front desk people is more than AMAZING always willing to assist/help you. I don’t give them 5 stars because there’s no air conditioner in bedrooms.

I enjoyed the stilish and modern lobby, a very nice staff, a wonderful and rich breakfast, a large and beautiful room and bathroom. The only thing I would recommend to improve is the heating. It must be possible to have the heating off because it is not confy, not healthy and not at all sustaibable to have heating at 24° in any season. Same thing for the bathroom towel rack. I would love to be back ;)

Excellent stay. Definitely one of my favorite hotels in stockholm. I stayed here for over 2 weeks and was not surprised to learn that this hotel has the same owners as Hotel Frantz in Stockholm. This hotel offers the same beautiful character rich rooms with stunning scandinavian design, the same excellent service minded personnel (Ruth, Shawn, Stephanie, and Corinthia were particularly delightful and friendly!), the same excellent breakfast, and a great space for working from the hotel when needed. I highly recommend staying here!

The breakfast at Hotel Ruth is amazing! The space is so charming and refreshing with bursts of colour brightening up your day, along with the super friendly staff! You have so many options to choose from: healthy fruits, yoghurt and muesli, the typical Swedish open sandwich with cheese and cucumber, capsicum, tomatoes cold cuts etc. on a variety of delicious breads or a more Aussie breakfast of sausages, bacon and eggs (or both!). I didn’t have room for the waffles sadly, but I had a nibble at a few things on the dessert table with my coffee (yes, there is cake and other treats so you can take a ‘fika’ at the end as well!) To top it off there is also quality cappuccino, literally on tap, not to mention a variety of yummy healthy juices to have in between all of this. Safe to say this is great value and really fills you up for so long and also makes you feel good - a quality breakfast experience!! Thank you!

Good hotel with some oddities as someone used to a lot of hotels around the world. Firstly the positives, amazingly comfortable bed, great location very good breakfast selection. I had to ask for espresso, they were happy to oblige. The very helpful young lady on the desk couldn't quite get a machiatto right but it was OK! The strange, very thin curtains despite it getting light before 5am. Lucky I had my very comfortable eye mask to solve this. Would be an early start every day without it! Very little space to hang clothes. (Similar to the cow hollow in Manchester). For a long weekend ok. Noise proofing may also need some work, nothing disturbing though. Excellent staff, couldn't praise them more. Didn't hear any other Anglos in the hotel, seems to be all Swedish and some other Europeans. So an authentic travelling experience. Overall, as a place to visit Stockholm center for a long weekend it's excellent. Hope to be back soon.

We spent 3 nights in Stockholm at this amazing hotel. With hip and cozy decor, they back it up with comfortable beds (including a comfortable sofa bed for aou teenage daughter), large rooms and comfortable chairs. The lobby is so welcoming that we often spent time sitting and chatting there. Really friendly staff: we interacted with several of the staff and they were all consistently happy and helpful. To top it off, it has an amazing and varied breakfast buffet, probably the best I have ever experienced.

Best hotel breakfast ever! Everything was premium, the juice, the chia pudding, the parmesan chili scrambled eggs, the dessert buffe, and so on!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of Stockholm. The interior design is very cool, the breakfast is superb, and the team are all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you’re visiting the city, you need to stay in this hotel! Highly recommend!

Hotel Ruth is a lovely boutique hotel just off Odenplan. It's an older building, so don't expect all areas to be 100% accessible, but do expect plenty of character and charm from the moment you enter. All rooms are slightly different in terms of size and bathroom size, but all are fairly Scandinavian cool - think wood floors, cool light features, etc. The lobby isn't big and kind of merges into the bar - I liked that and I thought that it makes for a very cosy & social space altogether. The bartenders know what they're doing and the choice's extensive - so have a beverage or five. Altogether, this is a lovely, family-run boutique hotel with good rooms and great F&B.

Room was nice, comfortable and clean. The only complaint is slightly low water pressure in shower. Staff was very friendly and competent. Breakfast was excellent, just as good as many reviewers have noted and which was the reason I booked Hotel Ruth. A bit more unusual choices together with the traditional ones. The scrambled eggs and the salad were very tasty, and so were the jams served with the yoghurt and the chocolate croissants.
