Beautiful little spot with fantastic food and excellent service. One of the best chicken pot pies I've ever had, and coffee you don't have to add milk to. So happy to have this in the neighborhood as an easy lunch option near the office.

The service was great, very attentive. It's a very small place with a lovely atmosphere. the cocktails were nice and the food highlight was the chicken parfait and fresh bread. We tried the lamb pie and toasted sandwich and soup combo. The soup was too salty but the sandwich was deep filled and nice. It's a better place to have drinks and a nibble I'd say.

Such a cosy place with comfort food. Very crowded, but loooove this atmosphere. Got a fish gratin and enjoyed it very much.

Positively surprised by this gem in the middle of busy Nybrogatan. Has its own concept with a mix of pre war vibe and a New York deli. The menu is very specific and the kugel was our favorite starter. Had my first olive lemon fizzy drink - what a treat. Also their Bloody Mary is probably the best in town with perfect spice blend.

Genuinely think this was the best place we ate! The general vibe was great, super busy but not overwhelming and the food was delicious! Very very cute place!

It is always nice to find unique restaurants, especially in such a mainstream city like Stockholm. Entering the place I knew nothing about it. It was really fun to see they serve ”kugel”, an oldschool dish we have in Lithuania here in Östermalm and in a sort of tiny version with lumpfish roe, a combo my grandma would never believe could exist. My chicken confit was under ”main courses” and the presentation was, well, quite intersting. I think it would be good if the waiters could ask whether you are here for the first time and explain the whole idea behind and the menu, as for the New York deli concept I would expect a different portion size and price ratio as some mentioned. However, since the place is located in Nybrogatan the prices in general are kinda self-explanatory. The staff were suuuper nice and friendly, the wine list was impressive! Go there with an open mind and check their website before to know what you can expect!

What an experience! Schmaltz is a wonderful place. Grandiose interior, there is a Bistro/cafe/Cocktail-bar feel to it. I had some cold cuts for starters, a very hot and tasty meat pie, and an amazing lemon tarte for dessert. Drank some light beer with grape fruit-juice, and had an espresso. The staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable about the food. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

From first morning coffee to afterwork and dinner, Schmaltz is the kind of place you can quickly adopt. Fresh and selected products, italian coffee, french wines and cheese...a small but cosy place where you feel welcome by friendly team. Prices could seem a bit high if you're to be french and used to find easily a large variety of cheese and bread but the quality of your plate will worth it.

Love everything about this place! We ate here on the night of our arrival in Stockholm. They were the only restaurant near Hotel Villa Dagmar that was open late. What a wonderful introduction to Stockholm. The food is really interesting and flavorful, especially the white asparagus dish. Everything we ate was superb. The service was wonderful too - warm, friendly, helpful. We would have come back here again and again, but they closed the next day for midsummer holiday. This was our favorite meal in Stockholm.

If you’re craving NY Pastrami in Stockholm, it’s difficult to satisfy that urge. But thanks to Schmaltz it is entirely possible! Their Reuben sandwich is authentic and delicious. The chicken soup would make grandma proud! The place is fairly small, but cozy. The service is welcoming, attentive and helpful.

Cool place and very good pickles! Simplistic main courses in my opinion (I did not try their famous sandwich, will do if I visit them again). Slow service. Would have given them 3,5 stars but rounding up to 4 😊

Clean eating, but quite expensive… I guess you mostly pay for the location and just getting a drink there would probably be enough. Don’t go there for a full meal.

Great reuben, gorgeous decor and vibe, and really great quality coffee. Smoked cod dish was a little fiddly to eat (had to cut up everything within a soup, which was a little tricky) but tasty. Also, notably good service.

A delicious meal, a bit expensive but in line with the prices for the neighborhood.

Had a Reuben sandwich for lunch which was good, but not great. Service was mediocre. A bit expensive (300 SEK for a sandwich, small beer and espresso). Might be because they don’t have special lunch offering.

Schmaltz is always a very good choice! You get a beautiful mix between the Swedish intimate vibe and European busy wine bar feeling. Products are always delicious, from the snacks to the desserts - including the wine. The best Reuben in town 🥪

A Swedish version of a NYC style yiddisch delicatessen. Good food, good wine and pickles to die for. Open from eleven to eleven, the small and cozy place easily fills up.

Wow! One of the best spots in Stockholm hands down. The Reuben is an absolute delight, with unique cocktails and an impressive wine selection. The chartreuse choices are beyond imagination, and the impeccable service makes it a must-try spot. Whether you're in the mood for a quick coffee, a leisurely lunch, aperitivo, a delightful dinner, or a nightcap (check out their fantastic Japanese whiskey selection, wink wink), becoming a regular here is to easy.
