😐 I was not impressed with this place, probably wrong expectations. Let’s start with the service, unwelcoming and even “bothered” I’d dare to say. I felt sometimes some passive aggressive mood, maybe because it was a Sunday night. The place itself is extremely tiny, which might be cozy. But extremely... I was not impressed with this place, probably wrong expectations. Let’s start with the service, unwelcoming and even “bothered” I’d dare to say. I felt sometimes some passive aggressive mood, maybe because it was a Sunday night. The place itself is extremely tiny, which might be cozy. But extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant when one can’t move the chair to get out of the seat, can’t turn around without hitting the neighbor and so on. Also, since I was sitting by the bar, the heat was absolutely unbearable. Food was really good, very very well presented and a very interesting mix. I tried the celeriac, beetroot, veal and venison dishes. Except from the veal, the rest were really good. But I left the place unhappy, like something was missing in this place, like really conveying love to what they do. Pity.

You get what you pay for. All the dishes are very good, especially the gooseberry dessert, which created a balance of all types of textures. The dishes are more down to the earth than super fancy and creative, but they are still tasty. The alcohol is comparatively much cheaper than the restaurants of the same level.

Definitely a rising star in the Michelin scene and destined for greatness, Kagges gives you masterfully prepared dishes made from the finest Swedish ingredients money can buy. The restaurant itself can only be described as cosy but with an incredible buzz. It feels almost like a house party but with incredible gourmet dishes thrown into the mix. Sit up at the counter for a front seat view of the chefs in action. They also happen to be incredibly funny so I would definitely advise this. We took the chefs choice menu with the wine pairing which is good enough value for money however there is no dessert included in the four courses on offer. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. The chefs as mentioned before were great fun to watch and speak to displaying a true passion for their craft. Each course was explained to us in great detail outlining the ingredients and sources. However the wine pairing lacked this same attention and the wines / beer was given to us with no explanation or reason as to why they were chosen for that particular course. The food itself was exquisite. The smoked cabbage was mind bogglingly good. An incredibly creative dish which was a definite highlight. The final two course were good and the ingredients top quality however they did not wow as much as the cabbage. The flavours were pleasant but not as complex. All in all Kagges is definitely a must visit. This place is truly destined for greatness and cannot be missed

A great small-plate restaurant with an open kitchen and tasting bar where you can speak with the chefs. The menu has a super nice selection of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes that can easily be shared across the table. 3-4 dishes per person (excluding dessert) should be filling. The staff is super attentive and nice, and the wine list has lots of interesting wines, including a whole section of orange wines. The food was — very good — but not great. Several of the dishes were significantly over-salted. The broth on the red king fish was thin (and way salty) and would have been better if dashi-based or just richer. Salt is often a way compensate for lack of complexity and flavor - not sure if this is intentional or just an execution issue…. That said, the bread and smoked butter lives up to all the hype. I think there are anise seeds in the bread - it’s really good w the butter!! Nonetheless, the food is enjoyable and the place has a really nice vibe. We would go back, but with slightly lower expectations.

I went to Kagges for dinner on a whim - and realised that I was lucky to get a table on short notice. The food is delicious with surprising and complex flavours. Two examples stand out in particular: the bread with smoked butter which was like eating the smoothest peaty Scottish whisky I've ever had; and the duck with a puree of delicate celeriac topped with tasty gravy. The best part was to see the staff in the kitchen and serving: the place has great staff who care about making delectable food that's served and presented with care and pride.

Nice place with interesting food! We had a nice dinner which was fairly priced, tasty, interesting and peculiar! We sat in the bar where we had the opportunity to watch the chefs doing their things! It is recommended if you may require a different approach in fine dining!

Its a nice gem in a heart of Gamla Stan ( the Old Town), if you are into a fresh, small-ish, low carbs but high flavors dishes. Fresh seasonal ingredients get creative impact of chefs. If you go every month- every time will be the all new menue!

A recommendation from the internet led me to this restaurant. To experience modern nordic cuisine was my intention and I was not disappointed. The small location features an open kitchen with a limited number of tables. You can watch the food-wizards doing their magic but be warned: it will quicken your appetite into unknown dimensions. The concept is very interesting. The menu features several medium sized dishes and they recommend 3-5 dishes per person for a full meal. Sounds familiar if you like Spanish food. Nordic tapas so to say. We went along with the chef’s choice: four dishes selected by the chef. This is a great opportunity to try out recommendations and get surprised. All four courses were excellent and superb interpretations of very basic meals. You would not expect cabbage or mushrooms to be ingredients to such exquisite taste. We enjoyed every bite. The experience was rounded up by the presentation of each dish either by the cook or the friendly waitress. Please check out this place if you like to go astray from well-known culinary territory and enjoy venturing into the unknown depths of the arts of cooking.

This restaurant is such a foodie haven! The vibe is so cozy and mysig. The food is made of simple components, but when served together it is a complex mouthful of flavors! The servers and cooks are very knowledgeable about the dishes and are super friendly. 12/10 would recommend!!!

This place is pretty good. The food is good but not great. It's like the chefs are very young and ambitious but they try too hard. The flavors are not fulfilled completely yet. Some dishes are completely well compound but just a few of them. Some are not good compound at all. Good service, very cozy place, the wine was amazing!! Maybe I'll come back in a couple of years when the flavors have matured.

Wonderful dinner experience! The menu was delightful and the wine pairing perfectly executed. The open kitchen let you see the cooking and the team is alway open to discuss the product and explain you the food story a little longer. More over they easily succeeded to accommodate the menu to a pregnant person. The tjockbulla potatoe bread and smoked butter was insane!

What an amazing dinner! 10/10. I had the 4 course tasting menu, it was incredible. I added in the apple dessert, a must try. The staff was super friendly and down to earth. It was great to sit at the bar and watch the talented chefs work. You have to eat here!!

Food was definitely good but was also not memorable. The most memorable thing was actually the smoked butter and potato bread they serve at the start (butter was amazing). We had the four top choices. The cabbage dish was good, but the lavender a bit overpowering at times. The second dish of potatoes, also good but nothing special. The fish was delicious but the lovage (herb) was overpowering and the fava beans were a weird texture, beets were perfect though. The pork was our favorite dish and was delightful.

I loved how we could see the chefs in action as we awaited our meal. The smoked cabbage and pork were my favourite! The addition of the trout roe in the cabbage dish added a nice kick of flavour that was just incredible. I only wish the portion sizes would be a bit bigger, as the dishes were devoured in a matter of seconds. Overall, a really nice experience with top notch service 😊

Very cozy little restaurant in the old town Stockholm. We got the 4-course tasting menu. The food was good but not impressive, some of them were a bit salty. The qualty was good for the price tho. Wine pairing was pretty decent.

A really special place. Highly recommend the tasting menu with the wine paring! Yes it's pricey but it's excellent quality if it's a special night. Note: it's a small venue so you're quite close to people sitting nearby! We were fine with that but others might not be!

Really great service, excellent food. We went for the four dishes picked by the restaurant and the matching wine. It was delicious. We treated our Swedish friend who was also blown away. Highly recommended!

Lovely relaxing place, great Swedish food. Great service and had the chance to meet both Chefs. Go 2 people at least and try all the food menus. It worth it. (Ask for alcohol pairing)

These guys almost made me cry… I’ve done a lot of restaurants. But the combination of pure ingredients with masterful skill made the difference. They make tastes that have long been forgotten. Go there before they get their stars. Awesome in every dish!

Really nice place! Went here to try the recommended put together dishes (4dishes) and they where really good! Fun variation of combined dishes with a lot of focus on the greens. The wine pairing was also really good! 100% worth the price! I will come back in the future!

Very nice experience. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Food was creative and delicious, but not as extraordinary as one might expect. Since it has an open kitchen, your clothes will smell afterwards.
