We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. We stayed in one of the slightly larger rooms which was more than big enough for two people plus luggage. There's no lift so getting the bags to the third floor was a bit of an effort but it's good to get the heart pumping! The room was so nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge and the heated floors were brilliant! There was a small amount of noise from the street but nothing too bad, and absolutely no noise from neighbouring rooms. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout. The breakfast is as spectacular as we'd hoped, endless baked items, cakes, cooked bits, cold cuts...coffee was lovely! Perfect stay, we'll definitely come back!

What a wonderful gem of a boutique hotel in Southern part of Central Stockholm. The rooms, the bed and the carefully renovated restaurant and bar are all very lovely and welcoming! The staff is fast and professional but very kind. Love it!

Absolutely lovely jewel of a Hotel in the very center of Stockholm. If you are here to discover the city, this the perfect base of operation. The whole city center and more is easily reachable by foot. The hotel in itself is incredibly charming, well designed and super clean. A great boutique hotel, with a lot of typical Scandinavian design choices. The breakfast is great and the choices are very broad. The dinner menu we tried was absolutely fantastic. I definitely consider the food to be worth revisiting, even if we wouldn't stay at the hotel. An easy recommendation! Try it!

Stayed for four nights in a standard king. The combination of a very small room and poor design choices meant that it felt very crowded. The only storage is a few hangers next to the bed and suitcase storage built into the bed that was too small for our mid-sized suitcases. You have the choice of living out of your suitcase or store your clothing on the floor or on the windows sill - not great for a 4* hotel. Getting around the bed required walking sideways due to the TV and a phone table. Breakfast was ok with typical (Scandi) choices. Good hotel bar with indoor and outdoor seating.

Lots of stairs. No elevator. Delicious breakfast. Without luggage or very light travel might be OK. But climbing four tall flight of stairs might not be everyone's cup of tea. Rooms are uncomfortably small, but good mattress and good shower.

Summary: Beautiful rooms, amazing location, excellent staff. The rooms are gorgeous and the beds are extremely comfortable. There is a courtyard located in the middle of the building that is isolated and makes a great place to sit, read, and enjoy a coffee. The kitchen is like something out of a movie: you can see the food being prepared while you sit at the table and enjoy the very cozy home-like atmosphere. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of things to pick and choose from and they all taste great. The train and bus stops are about 3 minutes walk from the hotel. You can get anywhere quickly from here. There are great bars and restaurants very close by as well as most of the museums. The staff made this stay perfect. A hostess, Hilda, gave us all kinds of recommendations for the area (the ones we were able to go to were great). She did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. If I ever make it back to Stockholm, there is no doubt that I'll stay here again. Don't bother searching for another hotel; this is the best place to stay.

Absolutely fabulous staff and location. It is located right by the Slussen metro stop and many of Stockholm's tourist attractions are easily within walking distance. The building is quite old which adds to it's charm. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous and the seats outside are nice. Also our room looked out over a small but quaint street. If you are staying in one of the upper floors the stairs can be a bit tiring and our shower was finicky, however these are minor quirks and did nothing to detract from one of our favorite hotels we've ever stayed in. They also gave us a little treat as it was our honeymoon and we arrived a day late due to canceled flights. Overall fabulous hotel!

The legendary Hotel Frantz breakfast absolutely delivered! The rooms were tastefully renovated but I should have asked for help operating the shower because I could only get it hot or piping hot. Also I couldn't figure out the light switches and doorknobs, is it an IQ test guys? Just please pass me my breakfast through the window! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Location is awesome, right on a subway stop and across a bridge from old town.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Mats from the reception was very helpful and kindly accomodated us with all our requests. Also, the breakfast was delicious and freshly made. Even tho the room was a little small, the kindness made up for it. We will definitely be back.

Great city hotel in a great location. Metro station is right outside plus there are lots of nice bars nearby. Rooms are small but thats not a negative at all, they're just right for a city trip to Stockholm with a cosy charm. The old school bathrooms are really cool. Included breakfast is tasty with lots of options.

Hotel Frantz is a gem of a hotel! The location is superb - steps from the Slussen metro station and so close to great bars and restaurants. The building is really lovely and the rooms furnished in such a stylish way. Our room - 302 - was one of the bigger ones but still a little snug, but it had comfy beds, an elegant bathroom (with heated floors!), a wee desk; and a little lobby for all of our coats and boots. The hotel bar is small and chic. Breakfast is epic - all kinds of cakes, pastries, cooked items, cold buffet, smoothies, fizzy booze-free wine and more. Service throughout was kind and professional. Our room faced out onto the street so there was a bit of street-noise but we didn’t mind it and you can’t hear your neighbours at all. A wonderful hotel - wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Central but quiet, comfortable beds, and spacious showers. The room came with safe and remote charging point. It was a tight room spacious wise but didn't mind as the beds made up for it. The staff was genuine and helpful. The breakfast is epic.

There is a really nice bar and breakfast lounge at the entrance. Part of the breakfast area is located beneath the vaults of the building adding to the overall atmosphere. The room was a bit small, the bathroom had a contemporary feel to it. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. 5 stars.

An all-through amazing experience! The staff were really kind and helpful (Especially Ludvig). The room was great and we could watch a movie in the evening on the smart TV. When we woke up we went to the most amazing breakfast with non-alkohol sparkling wine and cream cake with alot of other healthy choices. I can't recommend this enough.

Fantastic hotel. Historic building, beautiful rooms, friendly staff and the best breakfast I have ever eaten. Myself, my mother in law and my partner were thrilled. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

BEST boutique hotel!! Absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The location is a perfect jumping off point (easy walk to gamla stan and other neighbourhoods, plus the local neighbourhood is filled with great shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants too), the rooms are very comfortable, the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, the decor is hip yet cozy, and the breakfast was to die for! We wanted to eat in the restaurant but it was closed on Sundays and Mondays, which was unfortunately when we were looking to eat there. The fresh produce that was being brought in for the restaurant though made our mouths water and I'm willing to bet that the restaurant is incredibly delicious too. 100% recommend.

I stayed 2,5 weeks at the Frantz Hotel and I fully enjoyed my stay. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and service and cocktails at the hotel bar, compact and clean rooms, great location to explore both Gamla Stand and Södermalm by foot. Many thanks to the great breakfast team, Hilda from reception and Cassandra from the hotel bar! :-)

This review only applies for the breakfast, which offered friendly and attentive service by professional staff. We felt welcome and cared for from the start, even as non-stay guests. Focus on quality rather than quantity when it came to the assortment, especially enjoyed the scrambled eggs and oatmeal, also the overall vibe of the interior was pleasant.

It's a great hotel. So authentic and classy at the same time. Rooms were well designed and it was super quiet. I also had the breakfast and everything was so fresh and tasty. definitely I liked the apple juice

This lovely boutique hotel was perfect for my five night stay in Stockholm. The entire staff was warm, welcoming and attentive. The design details throughout the hotel are truly impeccable, and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds of my life. Breakfast here is nothing short of perfection, with exceptional variety and something for everyone. The location is fantastic directly next to Slussen Metro, as well as walking distance to Gamla Stan and the best of Södermalm cafes, incredible shops and beauty. Highly recommend and cannot wait to stay again!

Overall fantastic experience. Very friendly staff, great bed and shower. Rooms are at excellent temperature, we had a window facing the street, but didn’t hear any noises at night or in the morning. And the breakfast is the BEST we’ve had anywhere. Truly amazing and beyond delicious.

STRONG RECOMMENDATION! After some other locations in Sweden we stayed in Stockholm for two nights, Hotel Frantz hosting us. It was an outstanding stay, probably the best in Sweden for us. Great location, outstanding good and friendly service, very nice & modern & stylish rooms (you shouldn't have too much luggage), best breakfast I have ever got in a hotel (outside of Bali ;-) ), super atmosphere, ... It could go on with these superlatives... Book here!

My go-to stay whenever I'm in Stockholm. The rooms, a bit on the smaller side, are very comfortable and well designed with great care and attention to detail. Service is impeccable and the breakfast is absolutely astonishing. The location is walking distance to Gamla Stan and with just a couple of steps to the nearest subway, I can't recommend this hotel enough for a weekend stay in the Swedish capital.

Excellent breakfast in very pleasant environment! The price of the breakfast was quite high, but still the value for money was pretty good. This hotel and breakfast can be found on the way from Viking Line terminal to old town and is a go-to place when arriving with an early boat!

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL staff is so kind and friendly, room was clean and so eclectic, and we had a room facing the street! it was absolutely beautiful! Breakfast in the morning was amazing and made fresh (with tons of food from every category and fresh pastries!). They even had an espresso machine and bottled Coke Zero, champagne, and shots! (I was most excited for the Coke Zero!)

Boutique hotel with upscale touches. The pear and peach drink was fantastic. Dinner was small portions but very flavorful. The breakfast was always beautifully laid out and tasted great. The bathroom is extremely well done. However, the need for 2 sinks seemed unnecessary. If you are a larger person do not bother with the petite room. It's not even my arms length in the entry. The bed is very comfy though. It's in a great location right next to the museum and buss/train stations.

Stayed here on our first night out of 5 in Stockholm and had an air bnb booked for the remainder of the stay. Hotel Frantz was so good that we ended up booking in for our last night and leaving the bnb early! Staff really really friendly, bar great, breakfast fantastic and beds are incredibly comfy. Cannot recommend enough and will be booking back here if we come again.

After a lot of research, my daughter and I stayed at Hotel Frantz and so happy with our decision! We traveled throughout the Scandinavian countries and Hotel Frantz was one of our favorites! Service Words cannot express how phenomenal and appreciative I am of Stina - she totally made our stay at Hotel Frantz a memorable one. From the moment we checked in, she made us feel very welcome, she carried my heavy carry on suitcase up 3 flights of stairs (historic building so no elevator) to a beautiful room and even more so to a beautiful and incredibly thoughtful congratulations bottle of champagne, glasses and card for my daughter (the trip was her college graduation gift since she wasn't able to travel/study abroad due to Covid - and I got to benefit from it:). We stayed at 8 different places during our trip and Stina at Hotel Frantz will be forever in my heart for her thoughtfulness and generosity. This meant a lot to me and my daughter. In addition, we left a hat (newly bought hat from Norway) at the hotel, and Stina mailed it to us! We even got a to go breakfast on our last day since we left very early! Location Perfect! We took the train from the airport and easy access to the hotel. Moreover, it is the perfect location for sightseeing - easy access to all areas of Stockholm and only about a 5 minute walk to Gamla Stan - beautiful and historic "Old Town" of Stockholm. Amenities Beautiful, comfy, clean, new - rooms are a bit tight...but the bed and pillows were the most comfortable we slept in on our trip! The bathroom was well designed and large enough to move around as needed - and a very nice shower - and beautifully decorated - loved the blue tile! Perfect for our needs of a good nights sleep and out all day sightseeing. Food INCREDIBLE! Their breakfast was also the best we had on our trip! Mind-blowing selection from delicious fresh fruit assortments, to scrumptious pastries to variety of hot food selections including eggs to mixed veggies, to an awesome selection of fresh juices from green juice to carrot juice to beet juice... All in a beautiful ambiance! In addition, we also ate dinner one night at the hotel and was also delicious!

Hotel Franz is a family owned and run boutique hotel located in the heart of Stockholm, a stone throw away from the old town, museums and cruises. Its interior was carefully designed with love & respect to preserve the original features of the 17th century listed building, with its wine cellar, original stone staircase and huge windows. It's beautiful, tasteful, comfortable and welcoming. A touch of history with the modern luxury such as A/C, spacious bathroom, and super comfy bed! If you want to have a unique experience in Stockholm, you should really consider this place, it's perfect for a weekend getaway! The hosts are super welcoming and their food is devine! Fresh, delicious and served on beautiful pottery. You will even get a glass of champagne for breakfast if you want! The dinner is served Mon-Sat and it's nothing short of Michelin star culinary! There's also a bar open into late hours with a WiFi of course! There are few tables outside and in the wine cellar where candles are lit even in the summer! Transportation is easy to and from the airport and to move around the city, you will see a tube station from your hotel room window, as well as electric scouters or bikes parked just outside. Lovely view over the river, the old town and if you're an early bird, the sunrise! I can't recommend you this place enough, you've got to go and see for yourself! Thank you, Helene & Elene for your hospitality and love which I could see in everything you do in this place. ❤️

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, perfect location and amazing breakfast. The breakfast was so zen and fresh every day. However, there are no elevators, so pulling heavy luggage up all the stairs was not fun. Also the rooms are almost painfully small. I stayed solo and that was a tight squeeze so I can only imagine what it’s like for two or more people.

Stayed 3 nights as a family of 4. Bunk beds for the kids was nice. Beds were comfortable. The metro is next door along with the bus station, which means its extremely busy. A short but can be confusing walk to Gamla Stan. The bathroom is too small with a terrible shower setup.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect to visit Stockholm and their breakfast is absolutely phenomenal. What really made a difference is Mats’s help from the front desk. He was able to answer all our questions and he gave us very good suggestions on what was actually worth visiting. Great job, Mats!

Franz is beautiful and works very well. Two downsides: I’ve stayed at Franz three times in as many years. Unfortunately, the menu hasn’t changed at all. The food is amazing but it’s the same every time. This is now putting me off a return visit. Secondly, the showers have a traditional and very beautiful two tap system. Meaning you have to turn the hot and cold tap on to balance the temperature to your liking, not a problem. Except, the taps in Franz are so sensitive a half millimetre turn takes you from scalding hot to ice cold. Taking a shower in this luxury hotel is hard work, and almost impossible. These two small to medium points will be what pushes my next stay to somewhere else.
