Well I've been to many different museums around the World, but never a Dance Museum. Wasn't sure what to expect, but this is another little treasure in Stockholm. Celebrating the life of "Rolf de Mare" the "Museum of Movement" houses a unique collection of masks, dance costumes and film of dance cultures from around the world. You realise what a great guy Rolf was, with his enthusiasm and passion for the arts. A well travelled and fascinating character.

It's quite small. There are lots of nice audio clips that are fun to listen to, but I expected more videos. 3 stars for the 120 sek price is not cheap. The museum restaurant seems very nice though.

Very good Museum with a lot of information around dances, the different closes from all over the world and also the Samples of dance music. The building of the museum is very special inside this old financial institut.

A nice and a bit hidden museum. Very friendly staff and interesting guided tour. Free entry in august if you visited the museum of performing art.

Really interesting, detailed multimedia displays about an avant-garde Swedish ballet company's history and each of their productions. Really friendly staff.

An extremely intimate experience about the phenomenal "Ballet suédois" that sparkled through Europe during the 1920's. Beautiful and poetic.

We visited the museum around 11:30. At that time there was a ballet course that you could even have taken part in. At this time of day you had the museum almost entirely to yourself. Very interesting. Definitely recommended.

Quite nice. A lot of collection from Rolf and Jean. Also enjoy their love story here.

Might be the most underrated museum in Stockholm. Very unique and distinctive collection, reflecting the holdings from the Ballet Suedois, so there's some huge names there in art (Leger) and music (Satie, Milhaud) there. Super friendly staff too.

Completely empty on a Friday afternoon. Great place for a toddler to run around and discover

I found out a lot about Swedish ballet here. This is the most innovative museum in Stockholm, by far.

It's manages to be both boring and predictable in its attempt to be what? Abstract? Deconstructive? It all becomes very predictable since you end up walking from monter to monter, just like every other museum, reading about objects behind a panel of glass. Is it just me or is reasonable to expect some kind of actual dancing in a Museum of Dance? Where is the beauty, the daring displays, the challenge to the established perception of reality which dance can offer? So much potential, such a boring execution.

This museum has an interesting small exhibition. The thing, however, that makes this museum shine are the workshops! You have milonga, dance therapy workshops, dance with your baby workshops and figure drawing with dancers that is becoming mire and more popular. You can also book group dance workshops. So before visiting, check their website and under "Program" see if there's a workshop that suits you and visit the museum in that day. It will make your visit worth it! I definitely recommend this museumd
