The visit card of Gamla Stan (Old City) - Stortoget! Historical place, beautiful architecture, medieval buildings in Europium style painted in the bright colors , the square is paved with cobblestones and has an unique water pump in the middle (in the old days the purpose of which was to water the horses) Two famous houses located here everyone has a picture with! Red one called the House of Chance, the yellow one - Seyfried's house. The red one is famous because of the “Stockholm blood bath” in 1520 when Dutch king Tiran killed almost 100 of Sweden nobleman Every year it’s has the biggest in the city Christmas fairy with saffron buns, candies, mulled wine and other delicious stuff Square full with small cozy cafes and restaurants, very atmospheric place with very own vibes I enjoyed being there very much #GamlaStanStortoget #StortogetSweden #StortogetStockholm

Gamla Stan is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe, characterized by cobbled streets and archaic architecture. It is composed of 4 islands: Stadsholmen, Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen and Strömsborg. The central point is Stortorget, the scenic square with the colorful narrow houses.

A beautiful little square in in the middle of Old Town, Gamla Stan. It is surrounded by nice colourful medieval age buildings. There are a lot of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. A place for people watch.

The old town is very pretty to look at but i did get tired of seeing all the touristy shops. Also the cobblestone streets make pushing a pushchair hard work.

Stortorget is a public square in the old town of central Stockholm. It is also a historical landmark due to it being the oldest square in Stockholm. When I was here this square was quite busy tourist and others as it has a historic coffee shop that we visited a couple times. The coffee shop has been here since 1649. The square also has a great view of colourful buildings that are very popular for people and tourists to take photos of.

It's not a big platz square like others European town, not many colourful houses, most of them are 4th floor buildings and pretty old. It's nice to walk around to the Palace and church.

Very beautiful town square. Cool place to sit and relax for a minute. You could get some food or shop for some souvenirs. There is also a cool water fountain that is totally drinkable so feel free to fill up your water bottle. Definitely worth a quick visit and picture.

Beautiful Nordic old town square and street. Had a great time, suitable for a leisurely walk, I recommend visiting the place in the evening when there is less sun and a more relaxing atmosphere

Small square with colorful buildings. Around the square there are many cafes that you can go and enjoy some food and drinks. There is also a nice chocolate shop and in summer also ice-cream shop.

Gamla Stan is the historic center of Stockholm. The streets are lined with colorful buildings and in each of them there are cafes, souvenir shops, design studios, antique shops, small shops with various goods. Right in the center is the Nobel Prize museum and a short distance from it is the Royal Palace and breathtaking views of the surrounding sea, especially frozen in winter.

Fairly quiet square if you go there in the morning. if you choose to go during the day, there are probably more people here. Nice area, not much else to do if you don't choose to go into the museum or are here during the winter

Beautiful. Emblematic for Gamla stan. It reminded me Burano island with the coloured houses.

Town square old town here. It’s not super pretty but that’s not a bad thing becuase that means it has been well preserved. It is the iconic view and photo gamla Stan and regardless if how plain it looks it’s a must visit.

Classic Northern European town square. But on the boring side compared to other town squares, with nothing to keep you there the day we visited. The buildings are neat and pretty, great for your bucket list Stockholm pics and then move on.

Plaza on the Games Stan, Stockholm. Best place to eat and drink beverages and sight seeing the activity at Gala Stan. In December, the Christmas market is held here.

👍 As usual in Sweden. The time schedule for my route was really nice, every 3-4 min, unlike where I live, every 20 min!
