If there was a -1 review, I'd give it! To say it was dirty, would be an understatement. Not just the room itself but the hallways as well which were also packed with dirty laundry and don't even get me started on the bathroom facilities! When I tried to rinse out the shower a little before getting in, the water wouldn't drain and the filth would just swim around in there. I gagged. Needless to say I didn't get in. Other guests leaving their stuff laying around, toothpaste stains in the sink and the last time someone mopped the floor was probably 1999. The hallway smelled incredibly bad and when trying to get out, there was a trashcan blocking the only exit. No information for check out and by 11am there was still nobody to be seen, so I just left the keys in the door. Oh yeah, and even though that bar downstairs where check in was happening was open till 1am, I still had to pay a ten pound fee for checking in after 7pm. If my flight hadn't come in that late (00:30), I would have left right after seeing the conditions everything was in, demanded a refund immediately and went somewhere else.

I’d of had more fun without the wife as she limits my alcohol intake 🙈 but genuinely great atmosphere, friendly staff, good mix of sports and music depending on the occasion which caters for all types. The mix of customers created a good vibe. Definitely and good upgrade from the previous management from the last time I visited this place a while back. Il be there again (minus the wife 🤫)

Had 1 pint and left... Had no change for pool table then found out the pool cues were bent . The bar was sticky and was very quiet depending on preferences.

The place was disgusting! Their cleaners must have been abducted by aliens because that can be the only explanation of the state of this property. The floors in the room were absolutely filthy, the lamp and curtain were broken, there were cigarette butts on the window sill and cigarette ash marks on the bed, shreds of toilet paper on the floor. The shared bathroom in the hallway was exactly the same complete with used wrappers from women's sanitary pads, other trash and dirty towels on the floor and a broken door that I struggled to close. The staff at the pub tried to be helpful, but clearly struggled to find my booking in their system. The bed was actually surprisingly comfortable, but it was two single beds put together and I almost fell into the hole in the middle. I didn't mind the noise as that comes with such a central location in the nightlife center of the city.

I booked a room 5 months in advance and paid for it in full… then they cancelled it 2 weeks prior to my visit using ‘overbooking’ as an excuse. Surely you’d have known if I was the overbooked guest 5 months ago. Disappointing service.

Fairly busy pub with 90's indie / Britpop music. Friendly staff, reasonably fast service. Pool table and clean toilets. Usual Manchester price's... £6 a glass of prosecco (£20 a bottle). Decent night.

Recently refurbished after a change of landlord. Traditional pub which unusually does B&B in the heart of Manchester. Good for the sport on TV..

We came for brunch on a Sunday morning. Lovely bit of terrace in the sun, on the street and away in the beer garden. Bread and bowl concept seems nice, not too expensive. Good vegan options. However slow service, no NHS QR code, orders got mixed up (table of 2), no decaf, no plant based milk.

Not a fan of shared bathrooms but this apart the beds were spotless crisp clean white cotton & a pleasure to sleep in. The new owner Alex has a task on his hands but with his charm & amazing staff who were all so welcoming I think this place will be a winner! I’d go back just for the welcome. 😍

Under new management. Completely refurbished. Place was very clean. The Sunday lunch was amazing. We had the tempura prawn starter followed by the platter. Very generous portions. Make sure you go with an empty belly. Staff very professional, helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Awful stay here. Nice staff is the only decent thing about this place and that it looks ok outside.checked in at 2:45pm. Stayed here as we were going to a concert at the o2 apollo to see Avril lavigne for my birthday. The stairs and landing looks to of not seen a hoover in a long time. Got to the room and shared bath room and seriously debated staying in the car. The bed room were dusty, there were all cigarette ash on the window sill. The wooden floor hadn't been swept or mopped in that room felt sticky and bits everehere. There were a pile of brushed out hair below the mirror. Had to put my shoes on when getting out of bed to go to the toilet. The beds kept separating as it were to singles pushed together. Got back about half 12 from concert. Got a drink ended up taking it to the room. Absolutely shattered. There were hardly anyone in down stairs in the bar area. I hardly slept due to the music playing till half 2 am in the morning.our room were right above the bar. Felt the base through the floor and bed, it were so loud. The city noise continued past half 4am in the morning. Cars beeping and general drinkers out. We were right next to the bathroom, it took a bit to close and lock it. So on a night you can hear people banging the door close as well as coming in from there night out. AND the shared bath room were horrid the floor had loose tiles not missing. It were very unclean, the shower which we didn't use. It were all brown in the shower Tray, all up the wall tiles. No hand wash. The bin were over flowing. It were unclean. We had already had a drink down stairs which were (discounted due to staying in a room there). Paid for the 24 hour parking. Would of gone home otherwise.

Nice enough inside the pub BUT not having soap in the toilets is unacceptable in this day and age. Won't be going back because of the toilets.

The pictures are very misleading. Room was unclean, bathroom was so dirty we went out to restaurants to use the bathrooms. Blinds were broke in our room and so was the window. Telly was broken and the lock was broken on the room. Super loud and room was shaking from the music!! Only good thing was the heating and the convince of where it was.

Used to be a great pub back in the day, but, its looking a bit sad now. The place looks as if it needs an overhaul. Upholstery all cracked and in need of recovering. Tables are, well, ok is. Beer average.

Nice photo pub, and a nice section of Town. Just above Kensington Gardens, it is one of the most reasonably priced pubs in the area. However, they don’t serve food very late.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!! Wouldn't even give it 1 star! Had a room booked for 3 people for 1 night. We turned up and the place was a construction site! No warning, no communication to tell us they will be closed so we can sort other accommodation out, nothing! Absolutely disgusted! Do not waste your money with these con artists. They do not care about their paying customers.

This wonderful establishment came to our rescue with a very last minute accommodation booking when vacancies in Manchester were extremely limited! Very helpful and honest staff, spotless rooms, clean/tidy bathroom and very relaxed attitude. Thank you once again and hope to return in the future.

Nice to find a nice neighbourhood pub with a bit of character where I can watch the sport with my dog. Good food and great service from the young lady and gent behind the bar. Noted the pool table and beer garden, will be sure to explore further over the next few weeks! One drawback was no sound for the football (at least where I was), but understandable for a Sunday early kickoff. Not many West Ham fans around evidently! Obvs sound went on for Manchester derby after.

Seems like a nice enough pub if you like that type of thing but as hotel rooms come it definitely isn't the best. It looks like at a moment in the past it has all been very nice but like things have dilapidated and no one cares reinstating is, which is a shame. The lous noises until late at night are clearly pointed out so that's not a problem but the room itself as well as the communal areas can do with improvement. The room smelled of old sigaret smoke, the wardrobe smelled bad too, there was no bin, a kettle but no cups and the floor really wasn't clean. The bed was nice though and if only the rooms and surfaces were as clean as the sheets and the towels it'd be great. Staff was kind though, although the pub downstairs was very busy, they were friendly and showed the room and the way around.

Great service great staff, always warm and inviting. Alex is a brilliant guy always up for a chat and a laugh. Hospitable staff who enjoy joining in with a joke or two. Great pint of dark fruits best i have had. Clean and friendly enviroment.

Not a bad little place. Booked last minute due to train cancellations and location was spot on for what I needed. Was greeted by friendly staff who explained things in detail to me and made me feel safe which for a solo girl traveller is important. Bed was comfy and the room was warm. You get what you pay for. Somewhere I would stay again and visit for a few drinks next time I'm in Manchester

I booked 2 rooms on the 17th Nov for a family get together, unfortunately my brother got ill the week before so I was forced to cancel and postpone my trip. I contacted the Crown and Anchor 12th,13th and 14th November by phone and email and eventually they answered and assured me the booking would be cancelled and my £160 returned. They didn't credit me and despite repeated emails via their customer experience dept they have not even had the decency to respond. Customer service is not their speciality, disgraceful customer service in fact! Would highly recommend potential customers avoid this company

Old school pub in amongst lots more hipster bars. Karaoke, bands etc. Beer just tap - no cask (though there were 2 pumps so maybe it was just off when we visited)

Great pub with good choice of drinks, including Beavertown. Outdoor seating area in summer, a pool table in a separate room, and a dance floor for certain times. Only issue we found was there was a very loud speaker right above the table we were sat at so it was very hard to hear.

Shambles. Double booked. No room for us even though we booked two months in advance. Was sent in a taxi by the owner to a new accommodation to find out he had lied and had not been in contact with them. Was left on the streets and owner blanked his phone. Had to pay £52 in a taxi to get home.

Probably the best 'hidden gem' pub in central Manchester definitely worth a visit if youre after live sport, reasonably priced drinks, plenty of atmosphere and even some solid food

Decent pub. The staff were amazing, the drinks affordable. I went there to watch a band play live. Steady stream of customers, they have a beer garden. Nothing posh just your regular pub. If I lived in Manchester I would definitely go there regularly and support them as you can see they are trying to make something nice of the place and they in turn support local bands by organising gigs and stuff. I enjoyed my time there and I have nothing bad to say about the place. My only advice would be a refurb but in this economy it's easier said than done. Keep up the good work though ...

The pub itself is ok I visited with some friends on a Thursday night as they had live music. It was far too loud. We struggled to have a conversation with another another and we had to leave as soon as we finished our drinks. Also the toilets were very filthy and smelly. Not a good experience
