Be careful! The owner is NOT honest. He offers guests beer and wine “free of charge” to give 5 stars in google Uses aggressive marketing. jumps on the car at the entrance to the village ... trying to convince us to stay the night. He asked us to pay in advance (said he would be busy with breakfast tomorrow morning) - knew we would not agree to pay full price for such a room. The bed was broken-see the video (can't sleep!!!). Cold water when we arrived, we had to turn on the boiler and wait. Once it was hot, it ran out In 7 minutes. There are no electrical outlets by the bed, selling a luxury room with a balcony and a view of the lake, where the view is of broken roofs (see the photos). He holds some nice rooms in the hotel, but when you arrive, you discover other rooms. He invited us to drink at his expense (beer and wine) and asked us to write a good review on him with 5 stars on Google In the morning as I shared my experience , he said that it is not his place but the place next door and he offered it to us because his place was full. Stay away!

Hardly advise to go somewhere else!!! We wanted to book a tour, after we were reassured that the tour would be in english and already payed the highly over priced tour, because we were pressured that there a already want to leave with other costumers - the tour guide couldn't speak a word english and there were nobody else . We asked for our money back and the owner got aggressive and threw us out and insulted me. It's a tourist trap. We luckily didnt stayed at the hotel.

He asked me for the time, after that he tell me drink a coffee inside direkly after that he tell me text a comment with 5 stars that the food is nice with the best view...... he tell me everything! 🤮😡. It is a trap. He iven try to take my handy and text it by his owne!!!discusting

The boat tour is a complete rip off compared to local prices. The "owner" of the place almost forces you to agree to participate and pushes your card on the terminal as soon as you have it in your hand - gives you obviously not a second to check and compare with other providers. The tour itself was beautiful with a nice tour guide (non English speaking!) but the prices are just not fair - the "owner" claims that all other (cheaper) offers are illegal, which we could not indepentently verify.

Definitely not worthy of a price (10 eur for a person plus 4 eur for national park). The owner incredibly pushy, a couple days before was also offering for much lower price and told us the old road is closed because rock fell on the road (lied of course). We also don't know what we paid for - got only confirmation of transaction. So money for protection of the lake could have gone for the Pelikan restaurant. Well, I will know for the next time. Definitely better to do a small trekking on the hills around, will see much more

I honestly had a blast here. Everyone is really friendly. They helped me with everything, the bed is super comfortable and their restaurant is awesome! Breakfast was included in the rate and it was delicious. They let me check out late - like at 1:30 pm, and the owner drove me to the train station. Super recommended!

Tourist trap… man stops you as you enter town, pulls you into the hotel… it’s VERY pushy with his sales pitch. Was aggressive when we said we wanted to shop around and was very resistant, lied to us and said we needed to give an answer now as the park office was closing and he needed to register us or we may not be able to go, we felt trapped and booked (our fault for giving in). We were told there would be 4 ppl on the boat there was 10, the captain spoke no English at all. We got breakfast at the hotel they own after for ‘free’. He then took us into another building asked for my phone and picked 5 stars on Google reviews and told me to write a review for the bit tour, the restaurant AND the hotel we didn’t even stay at. AVOID THIS TRAP!

Scam! We arrived tired, they caught us at the entrance of town and imposed a boat trip, we agreed, it turned out to be three times more expensive than usual. They said in 5 minutes we will leave, we asked several times, in the end we waited more than an hour to go on a boat ride. After sailing imposed with them to rate their hotel and restaurant at 5.

We were aggressively pulled into this place right as we entered Virpazaar. We were told that this is the tourist center as we wanted to book a boat ride. That turned out to be a lie, no tourist or information center here. Just a scam ended by paying double usual price for boat ride Bad experience not recommended

Biggest scammers we have met on our trip. Definitely avoid, they will scam you AND treat you like garbage. Check out the 1 star reviews of the place and you will understand.

During our recent trip to the enchanting town of Virpazar, we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Pelican and were simply amazed by the whole experience. This exceptional property turned our vacation into a truly memorable experience that will remain with us for years to come. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the warm and hospitable staff who immediately made us feel at home. Throughout our stay, they displayed a genuine passion for their work, readily available to assist with any requests or queries we had. Their local knowledge was second to none, and their recommendations greatly enriched our stay. The hotel itself is a charming blend of comfort and elegance. Our rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. They boasted modern amenities and a cozy bed that guaranteed a good night's sleep. The breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape from our window was simply the icing on the cake. Hotel Pelican's location in the heart of Virpazar is perfect, offering easy access to local attractions while still providing a peaceful, idyllic setting. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to the lake, which made for delightful morning walks. A special mention must go to the hotel's restaurant. The food served was a delightful mix of local and international cuisine, all prepared to perfection. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite. Moreover, the selection of wines, particularly those from the region, was impressive. We also appreciated the hotel's commitment to sustainability, which was evident in their practices from waste management to sourcing local ingredients and even using eco-friendly cleaning products. It felt good knowing our stay was contributing to a more sustainable future. In conclusion, Hotel Pelican provided us with a harmonious blend of comfort, hospitality, and location. For anyone planning a trip to Virpazar, this hotel is the perfect home away from home. We have already recommended it to all our friends and can't wait for our next visit!

Really enjoyed my time at Hotel Pelikan. Food was great and the place is full of character and charm. Location was perfect and the host was more than helpful, organised a wonderful boat tour for us on the lake with a very cool boat captain who was also very funny. Would definitely recommend, will go again. Thank you Hotel Pelikan.

To rate the hotel Pelikán with 5 stars is nonsense. Before you go there, read carefully the experiences of travelers who have rated 1 star. Next time we will avoid the Pelikan Hotel and its insistent manager. I would give an average rating only for cleanliness and good food, the rest was a disaster.
