Edit: I have returned to try the nigiri. And I can now confirm that this is the best sushi spot in Groton and New London. Don't go to Sushi Kawa, don't go to Kyoto Steakhouse. This is it. Eating the nigiri allows one to truly taste the fish as it is not covered by sauces like spicy mayo or doused in soy sauce. The fish freshness here is better than all the sushi places around here; no competition. Good sushi. The rice was soft and at a good temperature. The quality of fish in the rolls was not bad. They have both traditional simple rolls and more americanized ones. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants/omakases in NY and Philly. And I can say that this place is not bad at all. It is definitely the best sushi you can get in Groton. I wouldn't go anywhere else for sushi around the area than here. Will be returning to try the nigiri.

Best sushi place in the area and the best prices, always. Don't have much to say other than that they're delicious and I highly recommend going here. However -- if you have a big order ALWAYS check to make sure everything is there. In a large order I end up having something missing (or wrong) every single time. Even though this has sucked, their food is such high quality it never dissuades me or my friends from coming here.

I tried the Ju Roll, their most expensive roll priced at $25, and the Spicy Salmon Roll, which cost $7.25. Unfortunately, the Ju Roll left me underwhelmed - it was just okay, not good or great, and certainly not worth the hefty price tag. I can't say I would recommend it. On the other hand, the Spicy Salmon Roll had a larger diameter compared to rolls from other places, but it was poorly packed and mostly filled with rice, lacking in fish. The sauce inside wasn't spicy and lacked flavor as well. Overall, I was disappointed with both rolls and wouldn't likely return.

Absolute best SUSHI in Groton, CT!! Consistently delicious! Highly recommend. Modest shop but packs a punch in the flavor department.

$22 for a spicy tuna and an eel avocado roll!? Jesus Christ screw this place. Go to Mahzu instead. Bigger sizes and less expensive

Nice quick stop after visiting the aquarium in the area. We shared a party platter and grabbed some soups for the table. Hosts were really accomodating and nice. Food was good. Value was good. Deceptive place from the outside. Looks like a walk up window stand. Plenty of sit down area in the interior.

Best priced and best tasting sushi I've had to date. The selection is extensive and unique, and you're free to create your own. Staff is personable, comical, and knowledgeable about sushi. Leave your mark and write on the wall!

Been here a handful of times, and each time the sushi quality has been really good. At least much better than some of the competition in Groton (Sushi Kawa, Kyoto, Big Y, etc.). A little bit pricey but sushi in general has gotten more and more pricey wherever you go.

We ordered our meal "to-go". It was ready when we arrived. The owner was very pleasant and the food was delicious! Monkey Brains and Rainbow Roll

My wife and I love sushi and have been all over Connecticut and Rhode Island looking for the best sushi. It is safe to say we have found the best sushi in Connecticut here at Ju-Sushi! Very talented chef, large menu, tons of options, fresh ingredients, great low prices for the tourist heavy coast, absolutely amazing! The Rhode Island location has the same results, very tasty! Despite having about a dozen different sushi locations in the area, most locals in Groton/Mystic and Westerly will tell you that the best place for sushi is Ju-Sushi, and it's hard to disagree!

Good food, terrible customer service. I was 'talked down to' because I didn't know my order number, meanwhile my order (which I recited) was directly in front of him (and was paired with an itemized order receipt and all). He gave me a hard time about this. He was also angry because he was allegedly talking to me, while facing down (never making eye contact or acknowledging me), with another customer standing in front of him, and I didn't respond. You should always look at or acknowledge the person you're speaking to. It's called "hospitality". If having customers is an issue: Treating them like s*** is a great way to get rid of them. PS: They told me 30 minutes and I patiently waited 40, and I also left a tip when I had originally arrived, only to be treated this way. Never going back again.

Bought the pork tonkatsu bento box today and was utterly underwhelmed. It was expensive costing nearly $22 for a Cali roll made with Mayo, small piece of fried pork, limp salad I saw them take straight out of the grocery store mixed salad plastic container, small scoop of rice and 2 pieces of gyoza. The salad dressing was just soy sauce. Portion was very small for the price. The Cali roll was strange being made with Mayo. For this price I expected a few pieces of real sushi but that was an upcharge. Would not come back again.

Decent sushi. The avacado roll tasted dirty but everything else was delicious. The are very pleasant. You write down your order and then they bring it to you.

We just had the pork tonkatsu Bento box with the California roll, salad, pork gyoza and rice. The portions were very large (so big we are taking home leftovers) The salad dressing was delicious combination of soy sauce, lemon and spicy Japanese peppers. The pork cutlet was perfectly cooked: so crispy and the sauce was wonderful. The California roll was fresh and you got 8 pieces. This was a great bargain for the price. Very delicious and filling and wonderful variety! We also got a spider roll (fabulous) and the seared salmon and cucumber/avocado roll. Everything was fantastic!
