An
assessment
from
the
hotelier’s
perspective:
We
have
been
working
with
Booking.com
for
years
and
have
noticed
that
the
way
the
hotels
are
treated
is
not
okay.
Booking
changes
the
cancellation
conditions
without
asking
the
hoteliers
and
sets
rates
that
can
be
canceled
free
of
charge.
So-called
risk-free
bookings.
Without
asking
us.
This
has
happened
twice
now.
I
think
that's
impossible,
it's
an
interference
with
our
terms
and
conditions
that
shouldn't
be
the
case.
Each
company
has
to
decide
for
itself
under
what
conditions
it
offers
the
rooms.
When
there
are
problems,
you
simply
can't
reach
anyone.
There
is
a
hotline
that
you
can
never
get
through
without
an
endless
wait.
The
employees
are
polite,
but
cannot
find
constructive
solutions
in
any
way.
You
are
usually
moved
around
three
times,
are
often
thrown
out
of
line
completely
or
are
content
with
the
employee
promising
to
pass
it
on
to
their
team
leader.
There
is
also
an
account
manager
for
the
hotels.
But
that
cannot
be
described
as
a
permanent
contact
person.
The
person
switches
his
phone
almost
exclusively
to
the
general
hotline.
The
account
manager's
email
is
no
longer
available.
You
receive
an
automatic
email
that
the
account
manager
is
only
responsible
for
analyzes
and
sales
strategies.
The
whole
thing
has
taken
an
extremely
negative
turn
recently.
Booking
then
passes
on
the
availability
to
other
platforms
such
as
check24
without
informing
us.
The
room
categories
are
then
simply
renamed.
Neither
Booking
nor
check24
feel
responsible
for
such
problems.
But
when
the
guests
arrive
and
get
a
different
room
category,
we
have
to
deal
with
that.
Of
course,
guests
also
call
us
if
they
have
problems
because
they
are
also
stuck
on
the
hotline.
You
get
the
feeling
that
this
is
what
you
want,
you
want
to
pass
on
as
much
as
possible
to
the
hotels.
All
in
all,
Booking
is
simply
blatantly
exploiting
its
market
power.
Since
there
are
no
competitive
portals,
the
hosts
put
up
with
a
lot.
From
a
hotelier's
point
of
view,
I
can
only
recommend
booking
a
hotel
directly.
Direct
contact
with
the
hotel
has
many
advantages.
Because
no
intermediary
works
for
free.
But
it
is
often
more
attractive
not
only
in
terms
of
price.
There
are
often
rooms
available
to
guests
that
cannot
be
booked
online.
Our
guests
always
know
in
advance
exactly
which
room
and
location
they
will
get.
Maybe
just
try
it
out.
