Great communal areas indoor and out for meeting people. Special thanks to the bar tender for staying open an hour extra so we could get another game of pool in! Located in a nice park by the river (although it's true it's a bit scary at night for solo arrivals on foot). Low season prices good value - I'd be expecting more for the peak season prices though.

It is a bit labyrinthine and odd, and there seems to be only one washer and dryer that you need change for, the bar was shut the whole time I was there (with pool table in), and if there was a kitchen I couldn't find it. Unlike other reviews, the cleanliness was fine for me (though the room smelled a bit) and there is a very nice fenced off outside area that wasn't mentioned in some other reviews; the best Ive seen in any hostel. The place is also very cheap and the staff were nice. The room unexpectedly was an ensuite. However, there were hardly any young people, and weirdly there were quite a lot of old people and people with special needs. (Probably coach trips). The atmosphere was a bit dead. Ein paar Schritte, und man ist in den Rheinauen, kann sogar über eine hübsche Brücke nach Kehl laufen / radeln! Jederzeit gerne wieder…

Für eine Jugendherberge und den Preis waren wir sehr zufrieden. Alles sauber, ruhig,Personal sehr freundlich und eine gute Auswahl beim Frühstück mit Joghurt, Müsli, Rührei, Croissant, Brötchen, Aufschnitt... wer unzufrieden ist,der sollte sich daran erinnern, dass er kein Hotel für 100+ €/Nacht gebucht hat, sondern in einer preiswerteren Jugendherberge! Besonders praktisch war für uns die kostenlose und sichere Unterstellmöglicheit unserer Fahrräder in der dafür vorgesehenen Garage sowie die Möglichkeit eines späten Check-Ins.
