4-star hotel? Not anymore. This grand, historic hotel isn't what it used to be. The front desk staff and management need a refresh on what hospitality is. Seems like other Google-reviewers share the same sentiment currently. My best friend and I had a dream of spa pampering and decided to make it come true, in a one night get away of luxury. We booked the Presidential Suite. To make a long story short...the fireplace and thermostat to the room were broken. We had no heat source. Two employees interrupted our room service dinner to attempt to fix. One woman put her jacket on prior to coming into the suite. She stated that "she liked it cold." Were we supposed to pack our long underwear and hats to stay in the Presidential Suite? The absent hospitality and pure gaslighting was shocking to say the least...absolutely not service worthy of a President nor First Lady. I would say it’s the details and hospitality that set apart an ordinary hotel from a luxury resort. Next time we want a night away from the kids and need some pampering, we will book at The Mount Washington Hotel. I suggest you do the same.

I honestly think this place is from another world. The whole building and the surrounding area reminds me of an old movie. The view you can't beat. Rooms are clean and everything is planned to the smallest details. Everyday you have a list of activities you can participate in, so much fun things to do in and around the resort. They have inside and outside pool, tennis courts, golf course, play rooms, farm with alpacas, lamas, goats, sheeps and so on. Fitness room and sauna are a big plus. Also they have their own library and book shelves in every hallway with cute reading corners and benches. Food is good, service is nice. Tower spa is a must! To be able to sit in a beautiful room overlooking the White Mountains after you just had a great massage is amazing. Can't wait to be back!

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. I lived in Mass for many years and wanted to spend my birthday at a nice place in the mountains with my husband, and this hotel seemed to be rated very highly, so I decided to make reservations. We did not receive good service, maybe because we were an interracial couple. The room was tiny, and they didn’t have a microwave, only a small fridge. They wanted to charge me for a microwave. The bathroom was tiny and without any bright lights. The bed was uncomfortable, and we did not get a view of the mountain. We had the AC view. The staff was not friendly; they were all retired people who did not take their jobs seriously and looked like we were bothering them when we asked a question. Very disappointed. I will feel uncomfortable recommending this hotel to friends and families.

We've been staying here for years and it has really gone downhill the past few years. The location is stunning, but this sadly isn't a resort hotel anymore. They remodeled the lobby and restaurant , so now the period-era charm is gone. The rooms are absolutely filthy and worn down. We arrived to find crumbs all over the ripped up carpet, toothpaste on our bedding (barf) and no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. The heating unit was falling off the wall and the overall condition of the room should make this establishment embarrassed. When we reached out to get some basic amenities, like soaps, we were told they would deal with it in the morning. With 2 kids, we really needed to be able to take showers and get to sleep. Total fail. Services that used to be included (like all resorts) now cost additional fees, like the evening s'mores. Breakfast was a buffet that costs $100 for a family of 4, so be prepared for ridiculous prices. My overall assessment is that these rooms aren't worth more than $95/night (think - quality of a motel 6). We'll be staying elsewhere next year when we visit, because this place needs a major overhaul.

The views are amazing when you drive up, but unfortunately it is mostly downhill from there. I took my family to a holiday event where the hotel's planning and execution was most underwhelming. Strongly suggest anyone visiting the are who would like a nice hotel considering staying at the Mt. Washington instead as they are a much more polished outfit.

Location is in the middle of nowhere but they have all you need. I wouldn’t minded getting snowed in for a few days. The place is massive. We eat dinner here two night in a row and both times the staff were amazing, the food was outstanding, best hotel food ever! And the atmosphere was relaxing. We stayed here for two night and already had plans to go up to Mt. Washington by the Cog railroad. But if you didn’t the view is amazing. There pools, farm, axe throwing, gold, the best workout room I have ever seen for a hotel and more. There seem to alway have a lot of people coming going midweek. For an old hotel they really put a lot of work into restoring the place. Everything was clean and functional!!! I will definitely go back!

This property is absolutely gorgeous! My stay was very nice in the clean mountain air. Having coffee on the front porch was delightful in the morning. Room was clean and nice. The food at the restaurant is great. Staff is friendly. So much to do from golfing to AXR throwing. The spa is amazing and is a must do if your visiting for a couple days. Delightful stay and excellent hospitality.

Just stayed here with a bus group from NJ. The view cant be beat. The dinner was great, the breakfast for the cost needs to be updated. The minor thing would be to at least add yogurt and fresh danish not hard stale ones that were out. Not much to do there but relaxing on the porch was great. Its more of a Hub n Spoke location if your looking to incorporating attractions into your stay. I can see why people like the old feel. Reminds of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island but it does need some improvements such as an updated elevator, old dirty carpet from the time you step out of the elevator. Not a good first impression. rooms are nice and clean. No housekeeping service I think unless you ask. No grab bars in the bathrooms. Tubs are very slippery. Not sure what a 23% service charge is for as I couldn't get an answer for that. Sales and service needs some lessons on hospitality. Would book again but be on top of what really goes on with your stay.

“Nobody puts baby in a corner”, was the first thing I though when I arrived. Very cool place will take you back in time and just a touch below a 5 star rating. Absolutely worth the price though. Grounds and building are beautiful with awesome views. Several fun things to do including golf and axe throwing.

Great stay but need to get some new cardio equipment for the morning gym goers. One treadmill from the 80s and it was broken. Hot tub wasn’t working either. The location is great and the bar makes good drinks.

We recently stayed at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa to celebrate the 50th anniversary of my in-laws. The hotel is stunning and the views are beautiful! We loved how much stuff there was to do there for kids and families including a large pool, activity center, movie theatre, and game rooms! We also enjoyed visiting the farm and using the disc golf course. The only feedback I would offer is more/affordable food options including more options for vegans and vegetarians. I also was able to hear a lot of running through the hallways at all hours of the night. All in all though we enjoyed our stay!

Did not stay here. Just attended the Sunday breakfast buffet. The food was ok. Very limited selection. Nothing outstanding. The bread pudding was the favorite of the group. It's definitely not worth the high cost. I will say that the wait staff was excellent.

Bucolic historic grand hotel with stunning views from every window and part of the property. Employees were friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was great. Candied Apple Creme brûlée was honestly the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life. Exploring the property inside and out was a unique experience with something captivating for the see everywhere one looks.

Just left after a 1 night stay. Love the hotel, so majestic and stunning views. Dinner was great and the waiter AMAZING, kind friendly and very good at his job. Sorry I forgot his name but we stayed on 11/20. Dont pay attention to negative reviews. This hotel is worth it.
