Very nice hospital and staff at the laboratory and the emergency. The only issue I had was the emergency waiting time. Checking is is really fast and then I waited for 2 hrs to get checked by the doctor, while we were only 4 patients with 3 doctors + 3 nurses. Then extra 2 hrs waiting for blood results. Seems a bit too much. Also, admitting people in the big waiting hall with sofas and then making them wait at the small narrow corridor with 4 chairs to be checked by a doctor really makes no sense.

As a returning patient I highly recommend the kinesiology/physiotherapy section. The team is very friendly and professional (except the old lady who is on the reception there, very unfriendly and arrogant)! I am very happy of the service and especially with DR. Alexandre. Overall the hospital is very clean and has a small cafeteria where the service is also friendly. Close proximity to tram, bus, metro and train.

PLEASE NOTE: this hospital does NOT present the prices applied nor the agreement or non-agreement in radiology for example you go there blind: you will NOWHERE find the prices applied by non-contracted doctors! neither on the patient portal nor anywhere: it’s ILLEGAL!!!!!

Worst experience ever. The reception lady didn’t seem to care about our appointment. The registration procedure is different than other hospitals which makes it really slow. We lost 10 minutes at the reception. When we got to the pediatrician (Verna Frederick) he didn’t want to see us because we were 10 minutes late. He said to wait. We waited for two and a half hours. The pediatrician was walking on the corridor laughing with the receptionist and didn’t even bother to notice us. We didn’t see him because lunch came and the receptionist said we should see another pediatrician and she squeezed us in for an appointment. We are still waiting with our newborn baby. Never coming back here.

Terrible hospital. Radiology department and the older blond lady in the Radiology reception is a disaster. I will issue a complaint to Belgian Healthcare Patient Rights Ombudsman about this hospital. I'd suggest everyone to do so if your rights are violated as a a patient at the hands of incompetent healthcare professionals. These comments are fine but they should be held accountable by a public authority. If our health is at stake, these healthcare institutions must deliver the service required. Hospitals are not places for staff members' ego tripping !

ALERT! CAUTION! DANGER! GO TO THIS HOSPITAL AT YOUR OWN RISK! We had terrible experience with this hospital. There are doctor like Dr. Yannick Nijs - who was not only incapable of treating health issues but even intensified the problem with inaccurate surgery. The medicine applied was also rejected by insurance provider saying the medicine is not registered and approved for such use! I hope you can understand the how poor the quality of the treatment is. On top of that there were several other issues - Doctor was not available even after accepting appointment. There were issues with billing unnecessarily asking the patient for additional payment. A mediation session was arranged without the presence of doctor. I am not aware of any action being taken against to doctor for such poor quality of treatment and refusing to attend the mediation session. The hospital mediation and administration refused to respond to queries when we asked them to justify the reason behind applying a medicine for the treatment which is not registered and approved for such use and confirm who will be responsible for the consequences caused by the use of the medicine. I have lost all my hopes and confidence on Europe Hospitals - St-Michel Site. I wish nobody should ever have such terrible experience.

Where to begin... this is a European hospital. Most staff do not speak English or Dutch. Only French. Entrance/Reception: Despite being pregnant and with the language barrier, my husband was rudely told he could not attend with me. Reception barely acknowledge you. No hello or greeting or have a nice day etc. They don't even advise on how to get to which department and when asked, look very disgruntled as though it takes them all their effort. Departments: Some receptionists and doctors are friendly, others are downright rude. Appointments: I've had one appointment in the diabetes department that was basically communicated through Google Translate as the nurse spoke no Dutch or English. Extremely frustrating. Ive found some of the doctors in the hospital very dismissive when concerns have been brought up. I got very little help or advice from staff here. In fact during every visit I mostly felt unwelcome. Emergency: I was here several times during my pregnancy and it was a sham. The staff speak little Dutch or English, there were nurses laughing loudly as I was trying to be treated. I needed a cannula removing and a nurse on her lunch break got up, did not clean her hands, had blood on them and saw this but still did not clean it off. Disgusting. I was also often left for hours at a time with no explanation as to what would happen next. I asked to drink water (dehydrated and pregnant) and was told i couldn't drink water.... SERIOUSLY? Ive seen doctors walking around the hospital in bloodied theatre scrubs. Again, disgusting during Covid 19. I was also given medication which I stated I did not want but was given anyway through a drip. On another occasion prescribed medication during pregnancy without being told the risks or the fact id have to wean myself off them. With all of this, I changed hospital. Im glad I did because there is no way on earth you could get me to give birth here or come back again.

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL! I've been in many hospitals in Belgium, mainly in Flanders and I was shocked about how much behind its time this hospital is, really not what you expect in a country like Belgium in 2023. Their processes are straight from the 1960's, the ladies at the day hospitalization reception are extremely unprofessional, unorganized and most of all extremely rude and unpolite with the people, I even saw them shout at sick elderly people, I am shocked. On top they make everyone shout for which procedure they are in front of 20 other people that are impatiently waiting for information, this goes against any privacy laws for hospitals, for which we will file a breaching claim. What a lack of basic care and respect, the 2 most important pillars a hospital should be built on. Do not go here.

best experience i've ever had with a gynaecologist (dr. aline bukena) upon arrival, you are warmly greeted by the helpful staff. you then have to get a ticket with a number at a machine and register at the reception desk. the waitingroom on floor -2 is clean and the atmosphere is calm. i went to dr. aline bukena (gynaecology) who speaks french, dutch and english. she made me feel very comfortable and created a safe space. i felt like we had no rush discussing my medical history and my needs. she also teaches you how to check your breasts by yourself. feeling very grateful for this experience. i will definitely recommend her to my friends :)

My visit with a gastroenterologist appointment was absolutely dreadful. The doctor I encountered was incredibly rude, impolite, and showed a complete disregard for professionalism. His carelessness and lack of empathy were evident throughout the consultation. To make matters worse, he even made inappropriate jokes at my expense. I strongly advise against seeking this hospital for gastroenterology services. It's essential to find a doctor who values their patients' well-being and treats them with respect and dignity. This experience was by far the worst I've ever had, and I don't want anyone else to go through a similar experience.

I'm new in Belgium and I don't know how exactly things work here so when my baby hurt his arm I searched Google and St. Michel was the most close to us hospital which had pediatrician. I called to be sure and the lady on the phone informed me that they don't have emergencies but she could schedule a quick consultation after 1 hour for the same day, I said yes please and I started preparing myself and the baby. After 10 minutes she calls me again and says that the pediatrician can't see us because she doesn't accept new patients!! Excuse me what?? Her name is Dagnelie Maite, she had the audacity to refuse a parent in the middle of huge stress about her baby's being with a ridiculous excuse. Lady change your profession its disgusting you are among society working as a pediatrician.

You are the worst Clinic ever. I did an Ecography in this place. I waited for the results days and days, but they never sent me anything. However after some weeks they sent me the payment request, so I wrote them emails to ask for the results...but they never responded. They just continued to send me "rappels" pushing me to pay for results I never got. This is absurd. This is absolutely not the right way to work. You are not serious people.

Excellent experience with a recent visit to the Emergency Department. The doctor who saw us there was great and really guided us through all the tests done that day and which needed to be scheduled thereafter. We also received a follow-up call from him several days later asking if all was well. I have no hesitation in recommending this hospital based on this most recent experience, as well as several others we have had there. In terms of language I was able to communicate in either English or Dutch across departments.

Good Pediatrician and emergency facilities. If you are going first time: Go straight and take right, Take a token at machine and pay at counter (sometimes they send invoice due to covid rules). Person will tell where to go based on appointment.

Impossible to book an appointment with radiology, no-one there, ever. I have called already over 10 times in 3 different days. Waiting about 20 minutes on average (of work time because their opening hours end at 4:30) and NOONE answers for an appointment m it's ridiculous. Reception answers and they get you waiting. I've wasted over 3h of my life waiting for an important exam appointment. So exhausting

The emergency department is really not great, the doctor doesn't listen to what we tell him... And so he sends us home without wanting to know more. While asking us to make an appointment to do additional examinations the next day. We don't feel listened to.

Great experience overall at the maternity ward.

Contrary to many evaluations and opinions posted here, I would like to state that I am giving a 5* evaluation. Why? Because it is well deserved in our case. My son came into the emergency service here two days ago with what was believed to be a severe allergic reaction. As I, his mother, was not in Belgium at the time, this was an extremely chaotic, anxiety filled, panic ridden and highly concerning medical emergency event for us both. Additionally, my son has never had any previous experience with emergency services in Brussels before. Let me say that his care was outstanding! My son was taken into immediate care by DR.ANGELO, who was extremely attentive, benevolent, caring, compassionate and competent. He took the appropriate medical action immediately and administered the necessary anti-allergy remedies required. My son was then monitored personally by Dr. ANGELO and the emergency staff on shift on a constant non-stop basis for the next 18 hours. This even included phone calls with me being in another country with DR.ANGELO to keep me updated on his state of health, improvement, progress and eventual discharge. I can't thank DR.ANGELO and the emergency staff on duty, enough for their efforts and exceptional care! From a mother's point of view, in another country during this episode, the patient care and communication provided was invaluable, reassuring, highly appreciated and nothing less than what we could have hoped and prayed for. Thank you personally to Dr. ANGELO and to all the emergency staff on duty for their 5* patient care.

Waited 3 hours in the emergency. The doctor couldn't care less. The staff was rude. I left the place in pain. A 3rd world country hospital would be better than this. What a shame.

Really a question of hazard. You can get a treatment right away, or you can be in pain and wait for hours for a doctor at emergency department. The reception lady is extremely unhelpful and doesn't care about anything

Very happy with the care my husband is receiving at the moment. He has a broken ankle after being hit by a car, the CHU Brugmann sent us home without an x-ray when it happened. The pain didn't improve so we came to St. Michel and they found out after the x-ray that his ankle is broken. Avoid the CHU Brugmann, go to St Michel (or any location of cliniques de l'Europe) instead

I had an amazing birth experience! Not only the gynecologist, who followed me during the whole pregnancy and knew me better but all the midwives as well were very kind to me and very professional and calm during the birth. Also a very good experience with the pediatrician till now, very kind and caring for the baby.

Good doctor but I did not like how and when important information was delivered to me, I had to ask essential questions and papers and got different answers. In the end the doctor did not come to see me after the intervention, as I was told he would. And the waiting time for a scheduled intervention was awfully longer than you would resonably expect. A post-op meeting to know the result was scheduled without my knowledge and I accidentally found out about it. And it was on a date and timeslot I was not available, nobody asked me upfront. I called to change it, then at the hospital, after the intervention, I got a paper for the initial date and time of the follow-up visit! I expected a better coordination, otherwise I'm waisting time trying to clear up a confusion. The hospital was very well equipped and supplied, from what I've seen.

Fantastic labor experience! Gave birth at this hospital. Amazing experience from the beginning to the end. Very attentive midwife supported me & my husband during contractions period, and highly professional anesthesiologist performed epidural. Labor was properly guided by the doctor, who payed attention not only to me, but to also to my husband, involving him at different stages. Afterwards, fantastic experience in the maternity ward, with supper attentive and patient midwifes, who were available 24h for all the little requests and stupid questions that a new mom has. Many many thanks to Kim, Hilde and everyone else in this ward for making this experience for our family so nice and joyful.

Very sad to come here as a Dutch-speaking patient. It is not normal that you cannot be helped in your own language in a hospital. And when people ask for help, it is very much against their desire, very bad! Some people are out of place in the healthcare sector!

(Translated by Google) hospital st Michel etterbeek 17h, the 10/09 I am verbally abused at home because unfortunately I used a bell in case of absence. I was simply ignored for a 30 sec by the person occupying the reception desk. then by the security because I told him <I am not a dangerous person>. I left the place because I was insecure. even worse the security to leave the place to follow me outside on the public road, to continue to provoke me, even the police on the spot already briefer in advance, I quote the policeman <if you come for treatment why attack people . Unfortunately, apart from the nurses, neither the security of the hospital nor the police or the emergency receptionist were able to remain professional. in the end, even our rights are flouted by incompetence and the law of least effort.  the police invited me to leave the place with their friend sir security which continued to taunt me, I drove my car in the pain of the infection which I suffer, and the traffic jams to arrive at 18:43 in order to to be caught in. EDIT: We are currently waiting for assistance in the emergency room with a severed finger. Doctors seem to be happy to just chill out and let us wait for 30+ mins. Not the medical help I was hoping to get here. I went there for medical assistance multiple times and I was constantly surprised by the professionality and helpfulness of both the doctors and the administrative service.

If you’re a British citizen with an EHIC please avoid this place! My father lives in the UK and is both a French and British citizen with a valid EHIC (these are still valid until their expiration date according to both French and UK regulations and law). He suffered from a severe case of kidney stones and was taken here where he was received quickly, although his EHIC card was refused ‘due to Brexit’? They attempted to take a 1000€ deposit from him as he needed a transfer to another hospital and charged him 600€ for an overnight stay and scan. This practice is not practicing within the law and is wrongfully claiming money off British EHIC card users!! Stay away!

(Translated by Google) During the day admission, none of the staff speak Dutch or English. They also make no effort to express them better and make them understand them better. They can even become irritated and switch to an unkind attitude. Also at the reception where there was no queue, you will not be helped immediately. The receptionists finish their chat at ease before looking at you. They were friendly and reassuring in the operating room. It is a pity that the staff where a patient comes into contact first are the most unprofessional people. (Original) Bij de dagopname spreekt niemand van het personeel spreekt Nederlands of Engels. (Translated by Google) SHAMEFUL! My sister was hospitalized at the St Michel clinic from July 24 to 26, 2020, room 173. A traumatic experience to say the least. After having been operated, she found herself in front of a nursing staff below everything as much by the lack of experience as by the absence of empathy; She found herself in the bedroom with the doorbell tied behind the bed. I arrived at 3pm without anyone coming to see if everything was going normally and in fact it was not going well. The operation took place at 8 o'clock! She was suffering martyrdom and had terrible nausea, not even a bassinet at her disposal .... a nurse who smelled very bad deigned to enter the room, came back with a painkiller and forced my sister to swallow it all. knowing that this medicine makes you nauseous. Not keeping anything in the stomach of course the pains got even worse. My sister asked to see a doctor ... 10 hours wait. the nursing staff did not consider it useful to offer him a tray, to help him with his toilet, or to make the bed again. This happened in your establishment, in 2020 .... SCANDALOUS (Original) HONTEUX !

Absolutely amazing maternity ward and the whole gynaecology/midwife team. Gave birth there twice and was more than satisfied with the level of care. Professional, supportive and friendly. Also top-notch conditions during the post-natal stay, comfortable modern rooms with all possible amenities. Highly recommend

I think the staff changed because everyone can speak English, Dutch and French. The doctor was really kind with me.

It depends on doctor, but in general OK hospital for consultation, not more than that. They all speak English which is good. Problem is they don't have time to dedicate to a patient and don't give enough explanation. I had a simple surgery (veins on leg) which was very bad, doctor didn't even tell me I will have full anesthesia. At the end he didn't even remove all of them and another doctor told me it was not done good. so it all depends...

Don't ever go here, pathetic hospital. In emergency they made us wait for 1:30 hrs. My son fell down and due to that blood came out of his nose and his forehead got swelled. My son was crying all the time but no one from the hospital cared to bring the doctor. The sisters and the receptionist were arguing and telling us to go if you cannot wait. Even after this we waited for the doctor as we were hoping that he will come soon. Then a doctor came to see after pushing the staff a lot and said that nothing to worry and apply ice. And to my surprise he said he is not a pediatrician and gave me address of another hospital saying that the pediatrician is sitting there and in case of any problems go there. Is it called Emergency? Everyone in the staff was busy taking their food instead of looking at the patients who were waiting for long.

DO NOT GO HERE. I was in the emergency department of the building. Staff were rude and didn't speak much English. I let them know that I had taken previous antibiotics that didn't work. Apparently they ignored that and prescribed me another "stronger" antibiotic. I complained because I knew it was similar to the other ones I had taken. They then acted very rude and told me to go to a dermatologist. Later that week I went to another doctor and he told me that I was wrongly diagnosed by this hospital and resistant to the antibiotics the hospital prescribed.

Recently the service there went down. I was for years happy with this hospital but since one year it get worse. I tried those departments: gynaecology, dermatology, medicine physique, radiology. Fist of all you get your appointment in 3 or more months - so very lat, then when you come for your appointment (and you are always asked to come 20 min in advance) you still have to wait at least 40 min! We you are then sitting with the doctor I had impression that they are always in a hurry and just want to get rid of you...

The hospital is old, only some staff speak French and they have a huge mess in a billing department overcharging patients for no reasons. Don’t trust anything they say because they will find a way to tell you they are right. Avoid at any costs !

We chose this hospital for the birth of our daughter because of its good reputation, and because we felt comfortable with Dr Grandjean. The prenatal visits were all great, even though there was always a bit of a waiting time despite having to take an appointment. The maternity ward has been recently renovated and looks very appealing. Once the day of the birth arrived, we called the hospital ahead in the morning to let them know we would be in within the next hours. Upon arrival at the hospital, we were informed that our doctor was unfortunately not there but attending an appointment. The midwife who performed the first checks was rather cold and unsympathetic. There is a lovely labour and delivery room with bathtub, birthing chair, etc., but even though I was the only woman in labour at the time, we had to ask to be taken to this room. Otherwise they would have left me in a room with only a bed/table despite my requests to keep moving during labour. The birth itself was rather traumatic. Even though labour was progressing quickly I was left alone for half an hour and when my husband searched for the midwife because I was asking for an epidural, we were informed that it was already too late for pain relief. I then asked - and had previously requested with Dr Grandjean - that I wanted to deliver in a seating or squatting position and did not want to lie down for it. However, the unfriendly midwife told me I had to lie down and kept insisting until I complied. The delivery itself was short, but absolutely horrific. My only memories despite the pain was my arms being held down and being yelled at by the midwife. There was no friendly support at any point since our arrival at the hospital. After our daughter was born, as my doctor was still nowhere to be seen, his assistants handled the afterbirth and stitching/cleanup in a rather unfeeling and incompetent way as well. I also noticed then that the unfriendly midwife had put an oxytocin drip in my arm. There had been absolutely no medical reason for this as the birth had been progressing perfectly. To make matters worse, the drip had been put in incorrectly so my entire arm and hand were swollen due to the liquid. The entire experience left me feeling abandoned and violated. The ensuing stay was unfortunately also unpleasant. The succession of midwives varied between very kind and helpful, and very rough and unfriendly. The worst part, however, was the heat. Our daughter was born during the heatwave in the middle of the summer and there was no air-conditioning (or even a fan!) in the rooms which are on the top floor of the hospital building. We had to bring our own fan to make it at least bearable. The temperature in the room was beyond 30 degrees during our entire stay. The food was also absolutely terrible. I am the kind of person who looks forward to and enjoys airplane food, and I didn't have any particularly high expectations, but the food that was served was at best awful and at worst inedible. Finally, to add insult to injury, we kept receiving incorrect invoices after our stay and it took a lot of time and effort on our side trying to clarify and correct the matter with St-Michel and our insurance. I can not recommend this hospital and will certainly choose a different place for the birth of our second child.

(Translated by Google) I had excellent contact with the cardiac rehabilitation service. the manager was very human, very attentive. so I thought it would be in my interest to follow my post-heart attack revalidation with them. especially as it is 30 minutes walk from my home. so no bus = less risk of catching the covid. in order to protect my home as much as possible from any contamination by covid, or even other filth that may be lying around, I always wear disposable nitrile gloves. suddenly, everything I touch outside with my gloves, does not contaminate what is in my home, because they are thrown directly on the way home. I had warned the manager of the revalidation service who let me understand that we would discuss it during my first appointment. I take the trouble to go out of my house, to walk, with difficulty, because breathless, tired, to the clinic. when I arrive, I disinfect ... my gloves. I wear my surgical mask. I go down to -1 after registering. I wait a few minutes, chatting with the people present. the manager finds me in the waiting room, telling me to follow him. what I do. I go into the gym and there he demands that I take off my gloves so that I can disinfect my hands. I refuse. he hands me my thumbnails and tells me cash, I don't want you here. either you remove them or you leave. I left. suddenly, let's be clear, I will hold personally responsible for this guy if it should happen to me misfortune because of a lack of revalidation. the worst in this story. is that, I had all my meetings scheduled in Saint Luc on June 18. appointment that I had canceled convinced that everything will be fine at Saint Michel. I clearly do not recommend this odious structure, or empathy is nonexistent, or we are spoken as if we were nothing at all. they fired me for .... a pair of protective gloves. since when, I no longer have the right to protect myself from the other? if structures like shops, cops, hospitals can impose their vision of THEIR OWN PROTECTION on me, I believe I have the RIGHT to IMPOSE MY OWN VISION OF MY PERSONAL INTERESTS on them; so does my survival.

BUT long story short, the secretary was infinitely rude, shout out at me,offended me,aggressive women that she doesn’t belong in a post like this. I think that if we was face to face she will slap me without second thoughts in moments that i was trying to explain her what i needed in terms of documents, but she just didn’t want to listen,or at least to read my emails.
