👍👍 In August of 2021 my husband , son and I had to plan a trip to see our other son off to be deployed to South Korea. One of my favorite movies is Bridges To Madison County. So my husband snuck this trip in for a early anniversary present and it was one of the most amazing days I've ever had. This is... People often mention bridge,

In August of 2021 my husband , son and I had to plan a trip to see our other son off to be deployed to South Korea. One of my favorite movies is Bridges To Madison County. So my husband snuck this trip in for a early anniversary present and it was one of the most amazing days I've ever had. This is so beautiful. I can not describe the true beauty of it. There was actually a little gift shop close by it but it was closed at the time . If you can ever come see this you should !

Checking out the magical covered bridges of Madison County is a great way to spend a weekend day driving through old country roads. Great time - watch out for wasps! Oh yeah, grab some of that Raspberry-Peach Jam from the gift store. You will thank me later.

Beautiful historic bridge. Amazing design and construction built in 1883. You can walk around and through. Would be amazing to tube down the river.

We enjoyed visiting the Roseman Covered Bridge. What made it special was that we had a docent from the Madison County Chamber of Commerce guide us to the Bridges and around the town of Winterset. He provided so much history and movie background to the tour that we would have missed otherwise.

A must-visit covered bridge if you are a fan of the movie by Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. There is a small gift shop nearby the bridge.

This is a very cool piece of history, both as a bridge and for the markings found inside made by the people who visit. Surprisingly, there is no graffiti or defamation of any kind. There are locks of love around the steel brace lines on the outside of the bridge on the corners. Its a really cool place to visit at least once.

The most remote of Madison County's six surviving covered bridges was the next to last to be built. The 104 foot long town lattice truss span was erected in 1883 by Benton Jones and George K. Foster to bridge the Middle River. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

It's a fun drive, not far from John Wayne's birthplace. The area is beautiful.
