Great pub just up from the seafront. Stopped here as they claimed to have a hidden roof garden . It's an enclosed area open to the elements that you walk out into from the upstairs bar surrounded by neighbouring buildings but it certainly could be a sun trap. Beers are a really great price and hugely cheaper than anywhere else near to the pier. £1.99 for a craft ale is amazing!!! Ok you don't have a view of the beach but there's the green at the front of the pub. We decided to grab a bite here and at the time we visited there was a manager's special on mixed grills. Small £4.99 and large £6.99 absolute bargain. Whilst some of our meat had possibly been kept warm my steak was actually cooked perfectly. It all tasted great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Really great value for money and definitely worth a try if you're a serious meat eater.

On my 6 day visit to Bournemouth, I ate here twice. First time the fish and chips, the second time, the steak and kidney pie. Both times the chips were very good! Food and prices can't be beaten in a pub. Friendly staff. The only -ve side is that the plates are not heated, so the food cools down too quickly (for my liking). A well deserved ***** ❤❤❤❤❤

When we arrived it was quite busy, we found a table quickly that was clean and tidy. No menu on the table so I had to get one myself. Food could be ordered by the app but I chose to go to the bar. A member of staff promptly came over and assisted with my order, the food arrived within 10 mins which was great. Food was absolutely delicious, we ordered fish & chips and 2 curries. Deserts were equally delicious. Staff were chatty and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this place. Thank you.

I ate the Beyond Burger in a menu with an alcoholic drink and fries for around £10. I always love to go to The Moon in the Square as it’s very central, cheap and good quality for the price you pay. Obviously Wetherspoons restaurants and pubs are not to compare with a posh restaurant but it’s the best place to go for a cheap and fun evening. The Restaurant is usually fairly clean as are the toilets. You can see families, students and retirees visiting the restaurant on a regular basis and the guests are always in a good mood. Don’t expect it to be quiet there ;)

Beer is tasteless, I had thatchers gold cider and it was tasting flat. Customer service from staff is none existent. Small scampi was 4 pieces of scampi and a plate full of peas. My fish and chips was cold, my mothers gammon came with 1 butter when asked for another she was told it’s over there looking at the bar. The staff are very rude and forgetful.

Perfect for a cheap evening out for drinkies. Only 4 toilets. One had someone puking their guts up, one had poo all over the seat, one had a bloody tampon on the floor right in front. Definitely needs more cleaning checks as the queue was big for the loo . Shame as the staff are all friendly. Seating is nice and spaced out. I ordered all night using the app. So handy. Offers are great on the drinks . Ordered chips with gravy and was a decent portion. Didn't count how many chips

Quite a lively spoons, especially on a Friday evening. Good service, but the chicken wings were incinerated. On my second visit the pizza was very good

Wetherspoon's = Good Value decent Grub and Cheap Good Ale. What more do you want?! Oh and friendly staff with many a nice customer too! Recommend - Simple Curries (Chips Option) - why don't they promote them more?

Our fault for not being hungry and ordering the smallest burgers. Was quite dry, which was a shame as I usually enjoy their burgers (but I usually get the gourmet ones). Was super cold and a Sunday afternoon.. weird atmosphere. Two people with just a hot drink each took up a table for 8. Was quite busy with a mix of couples, quiet people, less quiet people, families etc. Would not recommend you sit at the lower (right side if you are facing the restaurant) section as the door keeps opening with passing traffic letting in either freezing air and / or cigarette smoke as the smoking zone is out that door. Staff we're friendly and efficient.

What a great pub! Excellent, efficient and courteous staff, superb pitchers of pimms and lemonade (including fresh mint in the middle of October!) and the smoothest, creamiest Worthingtons I have had in a long, long time!! Well done all, keep up the great work!

Looking for somewhere to warm up on a very cold January afternoon. A coffee in one of the big chain coffee shops would’ve sufficed but at a price. Entering the pub, it was lovely and warm and surprisingly there were tables. A very different clientele inside too compared to the street outside. It felt safe and welcoming. We ordered hot chocolates, less than £3 for the two of us, refillable too. Why would anyone choose to go to a coffee shop when you can sit in surroundings like this for a fraction of the price with a much better atmosphere.

Great location in Bournemouth Square. Food quality is okay and is reasonably priced. Excellent choice of beers at the cheapest prices you will find in town. Staff were friendly and showed an interest in customer satisfaction. The decor is now looking tired, toilets reasonably cleaned and maintained. Overall, it's okay, and I will visit again.

Lovely wetherspoons in Bournemouth. Haven't been to the one across town, so I can't say it's the best, but the other one has a lot to live up to. Really nice internal look. Two floors with a nice layout, although it can look a bit mazelike. Has an outside area as well which is well guarded from the wind. Good selection of ciders, which is rare for any pub these days, let alone a wetherspoons. Food was good. However, what set it apart was that they actually put the extras in my burger as opposed to putting them on a side plate like every other wetherspoons I've been to. This may not sound like much, but to see such a mess delicately put together by them really impressed me. Overall, good wetherspoons. Very close to both the seafront and a whole host of other eateries and entertainment. Note, only put 20-30 per person as we were there about 3 hours.

Had great customer service during my visit from 12/12/2023. Staff checked on us regularly to ensure the food was up to our standards and were friendly/approachable. Atmosphere was welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. Would definitely go again!

Visited for a late breakfast Eggs dished up "snotty" After asking for eggs to be splashed with oil so not "snotty," they came out with hard yolks. Ate as better than under cooked. Plenty of staff. Lots of tables Two hot drinks machines, including hot chocolate. Water available on the bar with glasses. Now main reason for 3 star is the ladies toilets. Upstairs some missing locks, and general tardiness. Ceiling peeling and just not nice. Can order from the app.

A horrible dining experience, although the staff were very understanding and helpful. I'd tried to eat half of my vegetarian sausage and mash. The sausages had the texture and taste of cardboard, I had to leave most of the meal. The mash had a poor flavour. My hot wings were OK, so on balance a 2 star

Another great Wetherspoons. The fish and chips were delicious. Update 26 December; very disappointed we checked the menu and (this is no exaggeration) about half the menu was unavailable - apparently they had problems in the kitchen. Not happy, so all 4 of us left to eat elsewhere. Downgraded 5 stars to 4.

The Moon In The Square is a Wetherspoons Pub offering good value food in centre of Bournemouth. Service is red hot and fast. Value as ever from Wetherspoons. Lots of space. All ages congregate here and it has three spaces downstairs on three levels and a sitting area upstairs. Order food and drink on you phone app if you don't want to queue at the bar.

A typical Spoons with free WiFi etc but the bar is split over 2 floors. I was looking for a tick on their app but couldn't find it on the bar. I asked and they said it was on the upstairs bar

The cleanest and most friendly wetherspoons I've ever been in. Food served on really nice plates, food is actually cooked and hot throughout. Daughter was happy with the pepsi refill station as she could change drinks herself. Atmosphere was calm and Very friendly. Staff were happy and very helpful. Definitely recommend this place.

Read a review that spoke about this as the 'best spoons in the country' - well they certainly weren't wrong... Quickest service. Cleanest and most friendly staff I have ever encountered at a spoons. Even with multiple, big complicated orders, they were spot on to the letter! Cannot rate this any higher 👏

Christmas Eve daytime was packed, I wouldn't expect anything less but had to sit outside. no one was wearing masks ,only staff, so a little worried ,was kind of glad I was outside. atmosphere always good here and staff always friendly no matter how busy they are.

As good as Spoons gets. Staff are absolutely lovely, one member of staff went out of her way to find us a table with a power outlet nearby so we could charge our phones as we were only visiting Bournemouth and had come out with poorly charged devices. The food was as standard as you get in spoons but that doesn't mean it was bad at all! We had Breakfast here and of all of the spoons I've visited I must say this one was the best cooked I've had. Thank you staff at The Moon in the Square!
