First of all, the brisket is to die for! It reminds me of my grandfather and his grilling skills when he was still around ❤. Second the staff are incredibly friendly! Their kindness and love for their customers is the true definition of hospitality! Something that is hard to find unless you are in the deep south! Lastly, they have been around for years so if you haven't come to check them out yet, definitely stop in and give them a try! Their brisket is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

I enjoyed the beef barbecue sandwich with a side of the house-made baked beans, and put the cole slaw on the sandwich. Ask for extra sauce. Then, I went for a long walk on the W&OD Trail.

Fabulous barbecue in a simple general store environment. A pulled pork sandwich with two sides is my favorite. The potato salad is a winner.

I decided to do a 90 mile ride front to back on the W&OD trail. 60 miles in I stopped by Carolina Brothers for possibly one of the best meals ever. I needed some calories and I had an amazingly good BBQ pork sandwich, green beans, baked beans and a soda for $11!!! Delicious and so appreciated the affordable price. Great staff too.

Great place to stop on the W&OD trail. A hotdog for only $2.50? A massive pulled pork sandwich platter for only $10? Can't beat it. Plenty of bike racks and outdoor seating.

I swung by this cute place on my lunch break on a weekday. At noon, it was empty inside and staff were setting up for the day. I called ahead to put in my order in case there was a rush but they reassured me it would be ok and they'd make my lunch hot and fresh for me. It's located right off the W&OD trail in an area of Ashburn that has a very small town feel to it. It's very charming inside, with wooden furniture and cabinets full of BBQ sauce. I didn't explore much since I was in a rush. The person who served me was super nice and welcomed me with a smile. He promptly pulled my order together. As I was waiting, another staff member was putting cookies out and I wish I had time to take a look at dessert offerings. I ordered the beef BBQ sandwich with coleslaw and mac&cheese for $10.60. The price is very fair for what you get - it could easily be split into two meals (unless you have a big appetite). The mac&cheese was delicious and coleslaw was ok - it's lightly dressed, which I prefer. Beef BBQ was fall apart and doused in jus. It tasted good but not the best I've had. The best way to eat your meal is to take half your meat and throw it on the bread, pour some sauce over it, then throw on some coleslaw. Then, take the other half of the meat and throw it on your mac&cheese (w/BBQ sauce if you like) and have it for meal #2. Yum!

Definitely the best barbecue you were going to get in northern Virginia. Down at home atmosphere is very quaint. An Ashburn original.

Amazing pulled pork meal. Pork was tender and juicy with a pop of spice. Mouthwatering, time rendering bbq that won’t leave you hungry. Baked beans are deep and rich in flavor with some smokiness that follows. The potato salad has nice full chunks of potato but the sauce is creamy with a little crunch and let’s talk about the homemade apple pie? Cinnamon mouth watering goodness that makes you want to sit on your front porch sharing stories from the good ol days. You just can’t beat this place, plus the customer service is just as good as the food. First time customer that has turned into a repeat customer.

Carolina Brothers catered our wedding in October, and they were phenomenal. Not only is the food delicious, but we received many compliments from guests on the quality of service. They were polite, respectful, and accommodating to each of guests. Their food is some of the best BBQ around (you HAVE to get the cornbread!) and they were very affordable! The owner is very kind and willing to work with us to make our day incredible. 12/10 would have them cater for me again! It's also a great spot for lunch if you happen to be near Ashburn.

Terrific Carolina style bbq! The pulled pork was tangy with great flavor. We also had the coleslaw, beans, and macaroni and cheese and we enjoyed it all. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again.

I cannot rave highly enough about Carolina Brothers catering! We hired Frank and his team for my daughter's wedding in December, and they were fantastic - and the BBQ spread was awesome! Frank was so helpful and friendly in helping us prepare for the big event - walking through the menu options, reviewing all the pricing and preparation and options, and having a fun and delicious taste sampling session! His team showed up exactly on time and were professional, hard working, and friendly. They delivered an amazing service and delicious meal for all of our guests. Everyone was thrilled! I highly recommend Carolina Brothers!

Enjoyed the babyback ribs and potato salad. They only have brisket on Wed and Sat.

I got the bbq pork sandwich. All the sauces are excellent. From the beans to the potato salad to the Mac n cheese, all the sides are amazing. Great place, so glad we stopped in!

Stopped in for lunch this week and loved the casual interior (lots of seating inside and out). They have beer and soda options, chips and their vinegar-based BBQ is so yummy! I loved the green beans but personally not a fan of potato salad (too sweet for my taste). Their swag is also reasonably priced and I loved the historical articles on the wall about the restaurant. I plan to go back and bring the whole fam!

Long time Ashburn resident here and have been eating here as long as it has been around. Sadly, this is the LAST TIME I will be coming here for a while. The food is excellent, the only issue Ive had was the time before last when My pork was as dry as the Sahara. No complaints from me and always tip the staff as much as I can given these odd financial times. Hopefully, the recipe wasn't changed but if it was it'll most likely be because of my second point..... The atmosphere is wrecked, Cannot stand the smell and stench of sweaty cyclists who mostly come in and out to use the bathroom, very convenient for them as it is adjacent to the trail. They always have the swath of their stench in front of you as you're literally about to order food. Cannot even be bothered to walk around the line - always needs to squeeze between the line of people ordering and the staff taking your order. Inconsiderate people coming from the path, but given these are adults & some of them 50+... i am incredibly confused by their lack of manners. Great food but am unwilling to deal with that, kinda ruins your appetite.

Really cool place, and I had high hopes. It wasn't bad, but not great. I had the pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, and baked beans. Couldn't taste any smoke in the pork, tasted like it was done in the oven as opposed to on a pit. The beans were fine but nothing to write home about, and the coleslaw was slightly below average. Was also disappointed that there were no pickles added to the plate, and the sauce selection was limited. In fact, I only saw one type of sauce on the tables which was a Western Carolina style sauce. All in all it was cool to go in the place, tons of character and the staff was very friendly.

Staff is always great. Food is even better! If you want a solid BBQ sando with awesome sides, give it a try! Idk which days they do brisket but that's my favorite. Or the ribs. And if they have banana pudding just get one. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious pork sandwiches! Excellent place for lunch during my bike ride. Ate my sandwich on the outside seating area. Also ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs to go. It was wrapped in foil to prevent it from leaking during my ride back to my car. Will definitely stop here again!!!

We had a large group visiting from out of state. They were able to get us all served within minutes. The food was fantastic as was the service. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They serve homemade goodies for after your meal. Would highly recommend!!!

We recently utilized Carolina Brothers for a children's birthday party and seriously couldn't keep track of how many people came over to us to compliment the quality of the food. We got brisket, pulled pork, and chicken and Frank helped us ensure we had plenty of food to host 60 people in attendance. I also highly recommend getting as many bottles of their home made sauce as possible - it is so delicious and really elevates the meat! Definitely recommend Carolina Brothers whether you're stopping in for lunch or if you are hosting a party. We will definitely be back again for our next large gathering!

This is a really nice bbq joint. I tried the brisket sandwich and baked beans, and both were exceptional. The brisket is chopped and pre-sauced, the latter is usually a bad sign, but this was an exception. Good bbq shouldn't NEED sauce (imho), but this sauce suited the meat well. The beans were sweetened with real molasses, and it showed in their wonderful, sweet flavor. The only drawback to this restaurant were that the parking was limited and the line was really long...both signs of a place that is clearly doing something(s) right! Highly recommended!!! Oh, they had a great selection of beverages too! Very impressive!
