Ambiance matches the Thai theme of the restaurant. Music adds another dimension to it. Service is good and quick. A section of tables are arranged close to each other so when it’s busy it feels packed and you might hit some elbows. Food is good and portion sizes are great. Entrees can be shared. Drunken chicken noodles and fried rice had its own unique taste and was good. Abundant parking spaces available.

Based on the good reviews, I tried this place last night. I’m not sure what happened, but all the food was disgusting. Pad Thai noodles were inedible as they were grossly overcooked Shrimp was either cooked frozen or also simply overcooked. Crispy duck was cold. Not even lukewarm. Cold. Fried rice was mushy. Overall, one of the most disappointing experiences in Herndon and I will certainly never go back to this place.

Best Thai restaurant in the Herndon area. Exceptional food which genuinely makes my day when I eat it. In terms of taste and satisfaction the food here is the best around. Thai Luang is also very accommodating for different dietary restrictions and provides wonderful quality for all of their food.

Quiet Thai place. Good service. Food is good overall. Their specialty is duck but no one at our table was in eating duck mood. We ordered Yellow Curry, Papaya salad, Pad Thai, Tom Ka Gai soup, followed by a pot of Jasmine tea and Mango Sticky Rice. The soup was our favorite - very flavorful. Pad Thai was good but somewhat on a sweeter side (some other Thai places make their Pad Thai sweeter as well, so not sure if it’s a regional variation). We ordered papaya salad mild but it was very spicy. Tea and dessert were good.

Wonderful food. Great staff! This is a favorite and somewhere I eat everytime I'm in town. I order "off menu" to get exactly what I want, and the wait staff never even blinks when I order "off menu." The spiciness of the food is always exactly as I order it.

Without question, consistently the best Thai in Northern Virginia. We have enjoyed Thai Luang since living in Herndon over 17 years ago. We continue to drive here passing countless over options to enjoy the best of the best!

Thai themed restaurant serving authentic thai dishes. Ambience, decorations, music, staff etc. are all decked up Thai-style to complete the feeling of Asian restaurant. Service is quick and food is delicious. I personally like vegetable spring rolls, pad thai, thai-style soups, spicy fried rice and chicken khao soi. Especially, thai iced tea is so soothing and delicious that you'll like to visit again.

Thoroughly impressed The food was great and the special lil “Thank You dumplings” added an extra touch of sweetness to everything. Whomever came up with that idea. Bravo!!!! because it allows the customer to taste something that they may have not origin ordered. I will definitely order again from this establishment.

Drunken noodles, Tom kha, and curry puffs. Curry puffs were palatable but were obviously frozen from a purveyor. The drunken noodles were awful. Tomato based soup basically. Very spicy which is fine, but absolutely no flavor depth whatsoever. The Tom kha was basically chicken noodle soup with too much water in it. Even the rice tasted like nothing.

I've been coming to Thai Luang for 20 years and love this place. Service is always friendly and attentive and the food is consistently excellent. While there are many newer Thai restaurants in the local area, I always come here and have never been disappointed.

We hadn’t been here in a very long time. Hands down great experience. Had Thai dumplings, chicken Satay, and Tom Sum papaya salad for appetizers. Pad Thai, crispy duck with Thai basil, and red Curry for mains. Every dish was flavorful and the flavors came through brilliantly even with the heat. A family owned place with attention to service.

The upside of my no-show massage therapist is that I had the time to discover this little gem of a Thai restaurant for lunch today. It is delicious and the best Thai I've had since we moved to Reston. Looking forward to trying more of their dishes!

Thai Luang excels in every category. Their dishes have deep, authentic flavor. The service is second to none: friendly, attentive, speedy, and accurate. It is a beautiful place to eat with attractive, but not overly kitsch or ostentatious, decor. I enjoyed the crispy duck soup and it was the best I've had in the area. The duck was flavorful and impeccably textured. I will come back many times more and eagerly recommend to friends.

Local Thai place that has been around forever underneath an office building. Great place for traditional Thai restaurant dishes. Anything crispy that they make is guaranteed to be amazing. The crispy beef and duck are incredible. Definitely a mom and pop place and wouldn't want it any other way.

Very bad crispy chicken ginger. Could not chew the chicken it was so hard. When we told the waiter / manager he just said sorry. Did not offer to have it replaced or give me a refund. Cheap cheap attitude

Ordered basil fried rice with pineapple, taste was ok, if you prefer amount over quality this is your spot since the portion sizes are pretty big but not super tasty Thai food:( I’ve had Thai food many places before and never had Thai food that lacks of taste 🤧

The food here is fresh and dishes are prepared in a variety of ways. The spices are home-grown and authentic Thai chili peppers, very spicy and tasteful! I normally order Thai Hot food, I recommend Spice Level 2 unless you are very tolerant. The service is outstanding, my server Rang was so helpful and considerate. She gave me Thai Iced Tea to help with the spices. This restaurant has existed for about three decades, please try!

Really delicious spring rolls and duck pad see ew. The staff was very attentive and the food was quick and hot as well as tasty. I’m visiting the area but if I lived here I would definitely become a regular at Thai Luang!

The garlic crispy chicken was absolutely not edible. We couldn’t even chew the chicken it was so hard. When we complained to the waiter and manager, all they had to say was “sorry”. No refunds and no replacement. That was very inconsiderate. I’m not going there again ever!
