Amazing place. One of the largest monolith hills of Asia. The view from the too is amazing and one of the best I have seen in my life. On a clear day you cab even make out the bangalore city skyline. Important to wear sports shoes with good grip. Its a long trek so bring refreshments and especially water. Moderate to difficult trek. Requires good fitness level. The view form top is totally worth the effort.

Savandurga Sunrise Trek Review Savandurga Sunrise Trek is a beautiful trek located near Bangalore. It is a perfect weekend getaway spot for those who enjoy hiking and nature. The trek costs ₹250 with taxes per head, and you can register and get tickets online. The trek is easy to moderate, but it can be challenging for beginners due to its steep hills at 2-3 places. It is important to wear good trekking shoes for this trek. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding area. There is also a food stall at the top, but the prices are double or triple the original cost. Therefore, it is a good idea to bring your own food. Please be respectful of the environment and do not litter. Savandurga is a well-maintained area, and we all need to do our part to keep it that way.

This hill hike is the best, not too hard not easy, 100% enjoyable, come with friends/family, group hike is fun. Few danger spots are there be careful, carry enough water, At the peak there is bull mantapa, there are no safety girdles at any peaks proper care should be taken if you go with kids. I saw few youngsters climbing above rock mantapas for photos, Our ancestors built such structures with huge effort, we have to protect the monuments/structures on hill top. Please don't litter around

It is the largest monolith in Asia and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The trek to the top is moderate in difficulty and takes about 2 hours. The trail is well-maintained and there are plenty of markers to help you stay on track. The best time to go on the Savandurga Trek is early in the morning, as the views are clearer and the temperatures are cooler. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes with good grip, as the trail can be slippery in some places. You should also bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities on the trail. Overall, the Savandurga Trek is a challenging but rewarding experience. The views from the top are truly breathtaking and the sense of accomplishment you feel after reaching the summit is unmatched. Here are some additional tips for planning your trip to Savandurga: Start your trek early in the morning to avoid the heat. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Be aware of the weather conditions. Leave no trace.

Very good location for anyone looking for a bit dangerous and exciting Trekking experience. Reach there as early as possible and start trecking. One the sun comes out it is going to be really hot and don't miss the scenery during the sunrise. Trekking shoes is a must. Please follow the markings and do not go for any shortcuts which seems to be exciting but could end up in some unforeseen events. Always remember,Safety First!. Drinking water and food is availible there in a small but good tiffin center.

One of the toughest trekking for those who are not used to trekking. The place is near from Bangalore as compared to some other places. It's adventurous, but be ready with your legs, courage and carefull while doing trekking, because there are no steps. Slope is almost 30 to 50 degree. Keep some water to hydrate your body and food items with you, as it takes around 2-3 hours to reach on the top of hill if you take pics or take some rest in between. While trekking you will find 3, 4 places in between where water, drinks are available during normal daytime. There is a temple on the top. NOTE: Don't go while it's raining, as it will become slippery. Best to go very early morning and start trekking around sunrise so that you will not get hot sunny weather. For sure you will get one of the best timelife memorarble trekking experience. But again be careful, it's not that easy trekking. NOTE: Be safe and careful and attentive with your footsteps. Wear sports shoes with good grip. There are few shops and stalls nearby parking area to have food, snacks etc. Temple is also there. Route from Bangalore is very nice and peaceful.

Its worth climbing. The difficulty level is high. The sunrise is the best. Also the mist in top of hill is another best experience. The cold breeze refresh us like anything and take away the tiredness of climbing. Once we finish the steep portion of climbing it is easy to climb. Good shoes with grip is required for safe climb. Descending you will feel the need of good shoes. On the way in some place electric lines are too low. It will be good if you carry some food stuffs. On top you can see some people who sell water and cold drinks.

This trek is one of the most challenging trek in South India . This is built of a single monolithic rock and is one of the Asia’s largest Monolithic rock. It’s about 70 KM from Bangalore and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach via Mysore Road. There is a temple at the bottom where a lot of devotees arrive and the trek starting point is at the back side of the temple. The trek path is steep with no support, you need to be very cautious while climbing. A strict no if it has rained that day as the rock surface makes the climb extremely slippery. Nice view from the top , good for a short single day trip. Beware of monkeys and chameleons there

It is an amazing place for one day trek If you are somebody from Bangalore. Some of the points to be remembered - try to reach the starting point early so that you can reach the top before the sun rises. May be 5:30 or 6 AM works. Get a good trekking shoes as the terrain is very slippery. Try this Mountain trek if you have already went on trekking before and you’re fit as it is very steep and you won’t be able to climb all the way up to the top if you are a beginner. There are shops at the top of the mountain and also along the way. But, it’s better to carry some water and eatables from the start itself as it will be costly in the shops up in the mountain. A plate of Maggie at the very top of the mountain costs around Rs.60 and they will charge extra for the spoon which seemed a little unfair. The view at the top is mesmerising. It feels like it’s worth the climb so take your time while trekking this mountain, but make sure that you don’t quit halfway. One more plus point of this place was that we didn’t had to pay any parking charges when we parked your vehicle at the start as there was a owner of a hotel who offered help in order to put our helmets and also help in taking care once we came back from the trek. The total time took about four hours, including uphill and downhill. I can’t trust this point enough that the place is very slippery so please wear a very good trekking shoes. The wind blows at a very high speed at the top. Sometimes you might feel cold. It’s also better to get a sweater.

No need to buy any sort of trekking tickets! It's free...We had booked the tickets from eco tourism (Karnataka govt trek permission). The trail is a bit steep in some places, one should have good shoes with proper grip, else it will be slippery (specially during rain). The entire trail is well marked with sign marks, and there are some small shops offering snacks on the way (but almost double/3 times the normal price. The morning before it gets too sunny would be a good time to trek.

Savandurga, trek is moderate trek, one of among monolith rock in Asia. 65 kms from Bangalore. It took around 2-3 hours to reach top and 1.5 hour to come back. At top feeling is next level with cool breeze and good view point . I would recommend to carry your water at top it is a little expensive. - Points to consider -: Carry sufficient water -: Apply sunscreen 🧴 before the trek. It will make tan -: wear proper hiking or trek shoes , it is little steep but manageable. -: it is recommended to carry your own food and have a top of the point. -: there are 4 stages of the trek , Only 2 stage is little different rest is normal trek. -: Must visit place for all trek and enthusiastic people . Take an portable speaker and have a great time with friends and family during the route. 🥾🧗🏼‍♀️💥

Nice trek place around Bangalore!! You should be wearing shoes , try to leave Bangalore by 4 am so you can be there by around 5am in the morning so you can be able to see the sunrise , the pictures can be real good !! If you reach a little late like us(6am) , it’s not a problem , you can have nice weather , cold breezes and can enjoy the trek ! If you go late you will be very irritated with the sunshine directly hitting on you , so be careful! Try wearing a jacket when going up also take water bottle too! You can get other types of drinks but at double prices when you are going up and it’s not worth to pay for ! The vehicles can be parked downside where there is the temple . If you start coming down by 9 or 10 am it is good otherwise you will come sweating so do take a note of that ! The trek is not too hard but always choose the right ways , there are arrows , please do follow them ! Enjoy and have a nice and safe trek with friends and family !!!

Really good place for Trekking lovers. I will rate it as a moderate level trekking. The view from the top is also really good. A must go place for every trekker. Few suggestions - don't go on a rainy day, the rock surface is smooth and can get slippery. Go early in the morning, otherwise the rocks can get hot and there are not many trees so you won't find any shade.

The Savanadurga hills was one of the best treks of mine. The beauty of the nature. The steep and the adventurous climbing has got you thrills. Climbing before noon or after noon is good. With very grip shoes and comfortable clothes. Kids and elderly people are not recommended for this. Overall you'll have an awesome time in this trek. Go for it!!

A good place to trek, light to moderate for medium trekker. Start early otherwise parking will be difficult and it gets hot quickly. Stay on the trek, sometimes it is hard to find the mark-arrows, stay on the path otherwise you might get into serious trouble, do not take small children-it is risky. The view is amazing, once you get beyond the second wall and into the greenery it is hard to find the path there so be careful. Other than that its lot of fun.

It's quite a tough trek, but there is a saying that "the best view comes after the highest climb" Best view in the morning, once the sun rises the trekking will get tougher. Please be extra careful while climbing/Coming down at the mountains. You can park your 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler easily and there are no parking charges.

One of the best places to spend your weekend of you are looking for a quick getaway from the concrete forests of Bangalore. This is one of the largest monoliths of Asia and a trekkers paradise. This is a one day trek which can be completed in around 4 hours to and fro. Be sure to carry water, cap, things to eat and good shoes. Some parts of the trek can be really steep so just be a bit careful otherwise this is an easy trek so just go for it.

It's really worth trekking, different from other treks as it is more like rock hill trek. Bit difficult for the first time or not so frequent trekkers. Like other reviews, I'll suggest starting early in the morning when it's not that sunny. You will find some drink sellers at some intervals during trek, so no need to worry about hydration if you are low on water or could not carry much.

The routes leading to the trek starting point are rather well maintained. The view was amazing. We went as a group of 6 and were lucky to see the fascinating sunrise. The trek is a bit harder, but the peak point was worth it. Trek is about 1 hour 30 mins, if maintained average speed. And the trail is very well maintained to be natural unlike Nandi hills. There is ample Parking space.

Overall experience is good. Trek is little harder. But the views from top can justify everything. Parking: There are many shops near trek you can park your two wheeler there and you can give your helmet to shopkeeper. Make sure to buy something from thay shop Rest: There are no rest room. In trek there are some points where you can sit for sometime. Fee: There is no tracking fee

Savandurga Trek is an enthralling adventure that combines the joy of trekking with the beauty of nature. With its accessible location, captivating landscapes, and historical allure, it offers a refreshing escape from city life. Whether you seek an adrenaline rush, a scenic retreat, or a blend of both, Savandurga Trek is an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a memorable experience. Note: It is advisable to begin the trek as early as 5 am in the morning to make the most of the experience. However, I would not recommend attempting the trek during the rainy season due to the slippery conditions, which can make it excessively dangerous to climb. To provide you with a glimpse of the breathtaking journey, I have captured several captivating photo's during my ascent.

Amazing view from the top. We left Bangalore at around 4:20. Reached the trek point at 5:45. It was still dark when we started the trek. There were only four of us. No one even to direct us as to which way to go. For someone who doesn't trek much, i found it difficult to reach the top. At a few places the inclination was at around 60 degrees. The shoes you are wearing better have good grip. The way down was equally tough. Due to the steep downward incline, there will be huge stress on your ankle and calf. You also have to bear the scorching heat from the sun. But if you look at the images then you will know that it will be worth it.

Amazing experience One of the tougher trek Suggestions: start trek early morning around 6, keep water, snacks and good grip shoes. From humorous point of view, Maggi (INR 60) and spoon (5).

  • 5/5 Saaim B. 10 months ago on Google
Pretty good and short trek to the top. It will take max 1 hour to reach the top if you move continuously at a slow pace and around 2hours if you take halts. The round trip takes at least 2.5hrs if you do it leisurely so I recommend starting early to catch the breathtaking sunrise and ending early when it’s cooler. Some portions and treacherous and much steeper than normal so it becomes an arduous task if you start climbing when the sun is out and above your head. Wearing shoes with a firmer grip will help. Bring plenty of snacks because the rates of items sold along the trail are triple the MRP and there are no good places to eat nearby either. Overall a fun outing for friends.

Challenging trek with rocky terrain! Savandurga is a great trek with mostly rocky terrain and the rest as forest terrain. First stage is quite steep and challenging, but not to worry, as even kids can come up with some effort. The trek path is marked with arrows and danger zones are also highlighted but some people still go there. DO NOT climb up and come down from the danger zones, extremely risky! You will see some food items and water for sale, so you can wish to buy them. Once you reach the top, you can see some monkeys and a shopkeeper selling cucumber, water, snacks, etc. The view will be worth it at the summit! Recommended to reach the starting point as early as possible (around 6 AM), so you won't get much hot when you descend.

Always a fav trek place to us.Have been to the place more than 5 times. Great escape from Bangalore traffic to nature and the pure wind we get when we reach the top.The level is definitely hard. You will need minimum 2 hours to climb and 2 hours to get back. Use good trekking shoes with a good grip. The charges are for water, butter milk, juice are very high when u reach the top but they have put more effort to get the things there and it is fine to pay.

The journey after Mysore Highway is beautiful with forest and animal corridors in between. The gorgeous view of manchanbelle dam is between. Try to reach early in the morning if you want to enjoy the trek. Later it may get exhausting because of the sun. It's free of cost but people there might ask for a ticket but they let you go. Carry good shoes as there are places with steep rock faces. Carry water and a little bit of snacks but beware of monkeys at the peak.

Review of Saavandurga Trek: Saavandurga Trek is an incredibly scenic and breathtaking experience. The trek offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. However, be prepared for a challenging climb as it can be tough, especially for first-time trekkers. A significant part of the ascent is as steep as almost 30 degrees, demanding a good level of physical endurance and mental determination. The trek encompasses a variety of experiences, from exploring caves to witnessing picturesque scenery, making it an adventure-packed journey. For a successful and safe trek, it is essential to bring along professional trekking shoes to avoid slipping on the rugged terrain and to minimize the risk of accidents. The proper footwear will help you enjoy the trek to the fullest without compromising on safety. In conclusion, the Saavandurga Trek is a rewarding experience for those seeking a challenging and memorable outdoor adventure. Just be prepared for the difficulty level and remember to come equipped with the right gear, especially trekking shoes, to ensure a safe and enjoyable climb.

India's only monolithic single and oldest mountain, it's called as trekkers paradise and take risk please carry enough water, glucose or ORSL juice, don't carry plastic bottle and snacks which is already polluting this place. Be careful don't do oversmart activities and follow the danger signs and arrow mark. Pro's: adventure and nature Con's: no proper safety features
