Used to be easily the best indian takeaway around and even better than most restaurants I've visited, but for the past 2 years it has gone downhill and now has typical indian takeaway food which tastes terrible. Some of my friends and relatives have also found this and we've even ordered again to see if it was a one off! Don't know if they got rid of one of their best chefs or something but I would no longer recommend the food at all. I recommend and go to Maahis every time now so I can get a guaranteed delicious meal that now easily knocks spots off TOI.

Community pub in Bwlchgwyn. Great to see this pub open as it brings the locals together. Two lovely ales from local facers brewery on. Serves food.. Home made cakes and open from 9 for brecwasts(Thursday Friday Saturday I think) which I'm told by several people is very nice. Good service too. Could do with some dimmer lighting in evening which would add to the ambience but that's just me as I'm getting more wrinkly by the day. Recommended 🍻

The definition of a solid local. Great selection of drinks, lovely decor, friendly staff and amazing food. The King's Head does everything you want a pub to do, but better. They've also adapted to Covid in a professional way, maintaining efficiency and still offering a great pub experience. Couldn't recommend this place more :)

Had a lovely roast dinner in the Kings Head today, just a short drive from my daughter and son in laws house, didn't realise this hidden gem was so close until I googled restaurants in bylchgwyn. We didn't wait long at all , the staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very festive and welcoming on a very misty winter day. Will certainly be paying this place another visit.

Stopped off at the Kings Head on returning from our short break in Wales and so glad we did. We found the pub via a Google search as we needed somewhere to eat and didn't know the area. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and the food was very very good. We both had the steak and ale pie and cheesecake for dessert... which was just as good. Would I recommend the Kings Head - most definitely.

Well, what can I say about the Kings Head? We'd been to Errdig NT for the day (6 of us plus a toddler) and we tried to find a pub on a sunny Saturday evening; not easy. The first one we called was booked up and aren't we glad! We ended up here at the Kings Head, which was about 10 mins drive from Errdig. The staff were very accommodating and the menu was good pub food. I must say we didn't expect much, but we were very surprised at how good everything was. We all had something different and there was not a scrap left. We all commented on how much we'd enjoyed our meals. The chips get special mention as they were the best chips I've ever had in a pub. There were 2 large screen TVs showing rugby; we were in Wales after all! So, thanks go to the Kings Head for finishing off a lovely day for us all. If we are in the area again we will definitely be back.

Our first time in the kings. Both had burgers and a drink, delicious food and friendly staff in a warm environment with great local walks in the woods. A short stroll away. Would definitely recommend πŸ‘Œ

What a fabulous pub. We wanted to go somewhere after going to Llandegla bike park and found this place just 10 minutes away. The food was fabulous. The chips were proper chips and full of flavour, the steak and ale pie (in propper short crust party) was fantastic and the peas were cooked to perfection. The lasagne was massive and really tasty and it was all presented beautifully. We were only on softdrinks as we wet driving but there was a nice selection of real ale as well as the usual drinks. Highly recommended.

We just had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this lovely pub. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious and epically portioned. A special word for the homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding which was out of this world. We would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Best Indian takeaway around. Tasty food. Good portion size for the cheap price. This will now be my go to Indian! Update: They don't accept card payment and increased their prices without updating their menu on Facebook.

Have always used for any India food order , how ever every order is pulped, taste is good but food is pureed, I would like to see the onions in the meal I ordered. Very dissapointed and to be honest won't be using again. Delivery driver ready to walk away with cash amount before I said keep the change. Not great

Portions are more than ample, tastes heaven, quick pick up - definitely value for money with great taste. Don't have takeways often as eat out a lot, but we go here as near by. Tried places in lockdown (that are restaurants normally) with take out options; and have been a massive disappointment. This place has never been a disappointment. Don't change!

Tasty food, large portions, reccomend to collect your order or order delivery well in advance as can be long wait due to busy times. Also make sure that all ordered items are present in bag before leaving for collection or receiving from delivery driver. Have had missing items numerous times (maybe due to being so busy and rushed) but simply called and offered a solution (given on next order or item being delivered) - recommend to choose next time as the item turns up long after you will have finished your food! Quality of the food is best around though!

I will never order again, ordered online they got it wrong , messaged them online to tell them it was wrong had no response an then after a phone call they still deny all knowledge . JUST RUDE

Thought I would try this takeaway for the first time, placed order just before opening time and was told it would be an hour, so expecting it delivered for 6pm, phoned at 6.15 told it’s on its way, then saw the van pass the house at 6.28 so phoned again. Phoned again at 6.45, driver actually delivered at 6.55 Food was reasonably priced even before the Β£2 discount and was above average but not very warm. You let yourself down on your service to supply so will not be getting further orderes and will go back to previous supplier who may be a bit more expensive but delivers when he says. Service is important as the food, the poor rating is for your delivery service not the food you supplied.

A lovely pub, we called in passing through the village. The food was excellent and just the right sized portions. Inside is well laid out into areas for dining but still maintaining the atmosphere of a cosy village pub. We were made welcome by the friendly staff and the food was served hot. We didn't have a long wait and the food is well priced. The king's head is well run and spotless inside. We were glad we called and will definitely be returning.

I really enjoyed tonight's meal. I have driven past this pub on many occasions and thought it looked cosy. We were visiting friends in bwlchgwyn and chose this for an evening out. Small menu, very tasty. Real ales . Prosecco on tap Very reasonable .The staff really looked after us . One of the stops on the Wrexham ale trail.

  • 4/5 Tracy E. 4 years ago on Google
Nice place, nice and warm but mixed opinions from our group. As per A Sunday visit and it being St davids day we were hoping for a lamb roast. The only meat available for the roast was turkey. All the veg was placed on the plate, not particularly how we like it, as we prefer veg separate so you can put on your plate what you like. Without feeling guilty for what you don't like. My bil had the chicken curry it smelt delicious and tasted the same too and hubs had the fish and chips and said It was also very nice fresh and would return for the same dish. Deserts we love them I ordered the cheesecake it was average it come with raspberries (frozen, inedible) and a small pot of cream. There were a childrens ice cream with marshmallows and choc sauce a gingerbread sundae and the waffles everyone enjoyed there deserts said they were nice and tasty. For the food we would return, unfortunately it's unlikely to be soon, we had with us an 11 month old baby, they don't have high chairs and no baby changing facilities. So if u have young children bare this in mind. Your meal would be consistent of baby being passed around or eating your meal warm. If you don't have young babies with you then your sorted and I'm sure you will enjoy your meal/visit. The Kings head is clean and warm thanks to the log burners and the staff are friendly polite and welcoming. Enjoy.

On reading the other reviews I thought the fish and chips can’t be THAT good, surely? But yes they really are. The chips are the best I have ever had, fresh and crunchy. Warm, attentive and friendly service. Dog friendly. Only five minutes up the road from where we were staying at the Llandegla Fisheries. Highly recommended as a place to eat if you are staying there.

Say "cosy pub" and think of the Kings Head! So lucky to have such a great pub in the village. Really good food at a great price and the range of larger and Ale's is fantastic! Dog friendly and the roaring fires in the winter really make this place a warm heart of the village. The whole team go above and beyond all the time and the service is 11/10!

Omg this place is superb. Stayed in a cottage near by for a week, and visited the pub on our last night. Sadly all the tables were reserved but they kindly said they would open the sheltered outside beer garden. Staff were helpful but the food was unreal. Can't recommend this place high enough
